Hi ladies,

For those of us out of the July game there are not many places to hide so I thought I'd start a new August thread to give us all some positive vibes!

Cycle 3 - BFP August 6th

OP posts:

Ah I need to get my head around - I've not been in a relationship for as long as you lot so I have absolutely no experience there.

And obviously, no amount of reading will ever replace pure experience in that...

resipsa · 31/07/2012 12:32

whenshe think we're long lost twins. Been with DH 15 years by Sept, married 12, have DD who is 18 months (great age!). In the early days, we were at it all the time then time marched on and before TTC he was lucky to get it 3 times a month. Now I ask for 3 times a week, he's not happy to oblige unless he "wants" it too. Grrr.

KickTheGuru · 31/07/2012 12:21

Don't they say the longer you've been together, the more "best friends" you become and the less...deedage you have?

Hard to have a baby but good sign for the overall relationship?

We've only been married 9 months now so we have a LOT of years to go before we stop DTD often Grin

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 31/07/2012 12:19

I know 2-3 times a month Blush. I used to be a 2-3 times a week kind of girl. Hate to admit it but even before dd was born it had dropped to once a week.

Don't know why we are so rubbish, we have been together for 13 years and both have v stressful jobs.

Sheep2345 · 31/07/2012 12:03

Good Luck for tomorrow lime keep us updated Grin
Fx for the first BFP of August xx

KickTheGuru · 31/07/2012 11:09

{gin] is a helpful aid too

KickTheGuru · 31/07/2012 11:08

Two to three times a MONTH? Wow you guys!!

I need more than that Grin

Regardless on DTD Gin

KickTheGuru · 31/07/2012 11:07

They say up two to three times a week. Could you manage that?

Shame yeh, it was stressful for us in June but there were other stresses there as well. It is very much each to their own.

Do you get positive OPKs? I think that's a big factor for us - don't bother relying on those things for my baby because they don't work for me.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 31/07/2012 11:03

I moved away from the dtd eod because it didn't work for us last time, dh really felt the pressure of constant shagging it stressed us both out and we didn't get pregnant for sex months. The month we did was the one where we said sod it lets have a month off.

This time round we have gone for a more relaxed dtd 2 to 3 times a month, have been trying for 3 cycles and got pregnant on 2 of them but they were both chem preg.

I firmly believe constant shagging is not the way for us (especially with a toddler around). Just pissed off my body's timing is out this month, if we oved on cd13 that would be beyond ususual for me.

KickTheGuru · 31/07/2012 10:13

whenshewas That's why we DTD from the earliest possible date until day the day AF makes it impossible.

I am CD12 today and since I've only had a couple OPK's in well over the years I've been POAS, I don't leave my baby in the hands of some random chemically advanced stick to decide on :)

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 31/07/2012 10:11

On Cd 17 today peeing on the opks and no sign of ov yet. Am becoming convinced it arrived super early this month which means we missed it dtd wise. Pissed off.

Think there was a tiny bit of ewcm on fri / sat (bit more on Sat). We have only dtd on Sat night, so small chance we caught it but the opks didn't show ov.

Aufaniae you could test during the day but if you don't get a bfp it might not be accurate!

miarosemum · 31/07/2012 09:30

Oops!

miarosemum · 31/07/2012 09:29

Thanks auf, wish I hadn't tested so bloody early though as the waiting till af date to come and go is horrendous, never tested more than 2 days early before!

miarosemum · 31/07/2012 09:27

Aufaniae, I tested randomly in middle of day 5 days early and got a faint line, maybe wait till tomorrow morning now though just to get a clearer result x

jessiethecowgirl · 31/07/2012 09:26

threeleftfeet · 31/07/2012 09:25

I'm taking fish oil suitable for pregnancy, as I'm a vegetarian (and don't normally eat fish), as well as conception vitamins which include Folic acid. I'm not taking them religiously every day though. Perhaps I should be?

miarosemum · 31/07/2012 09:23

Thanks auf, wish I hadn't tested so bloody early though as the waiting till af date to come and go is horrendous, never tested more than 2 days early before!

threeleftfeet · 31/07/2012 09:23

I want to POAS now! Is there any point if I've missed the morning? (AF due in 3 days).

woody17 · 31/07/2012 09:22

Congratulations miarosemum and Muumimamma2

Aufaniae I think the tests normally advise testing first thing in the morning.

Kick we've been trying since January, although we were very relaxed about it all. However, since the mc, I feel absolutely desperate to get pg.

We DTD last night as well!

Does anyone take any supplements apart from folic acid?

Muumimamma2 · 31/07/2012 09:22

Thanks Aufaniae, you're right about faint lines being lines too, my previous faint line is celebrating her second birthday in a couple of weeks :)

threeleftfeet · 31/07/2012 09:19

Wohoo miarosemum! Congratulations! Grin

False positives are very rare. Worth repeating - a faint line is a line!

miarosemum · 31/07/2012 09:12

Well poas again this morning, and another faint line, slightly stronger than the previous one night before last! Af due 4th aug, can't quite believe it though and keep imagining af symptoms, can't relax till af date comes and goes, also will have to go buy some tests out here on hol as only brought a couple with me!
