Hi just thought i'd check in, nothing massive to report with me, waiting for AF, due tues/wed I think.

Wannabe I am thinking of you. Maybe the test might help just to put your mind at rest, would you go back to using contraception again or not, without the intention of TTC? then anything could happen. You are still young.

Hope you have all seen my excitement thread in the telly addicts section!!!
Love to all

if u check your cervical fluid u can find out if you're about to ovulate Smile

hi, im not new to mn but am new to conception thread.
I have polycystic ovaries, endometriosis and a blocked tube so was told at the tender age of 20 that conception was quite impossible, however 9 years later i have a 5 year old beautiful daughter, anyway, my periods have a mond of their own annd after years of trying, i am still not pregnant.
I dont know when i ovulate as my cycle is so erratic.... i have considered using the ovualtion test kits but my periods can go from 27 days to 39 days so i would be testing every day and i dont want to become obsessed.
Does anyone else have erratic periods and if so, what do they do?

beartime · 17/03/2006 21:57

hmmm does sound like it. Sorry to harp, but you really should get 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility' has loads of info on fertility problems and pregnancy achievement. Smile

We've been TTC for 10 months now, took 13 months to conceive DS, so I'd say almost certainly an issue there :).

beartime · 17/03/2006 17:13

wannabe - from what I've read long hrs doesn't contribute to low sperm count. But caffeine/alcohol/tight underwear Wink/bad diet do. In TCOYF she says if partner has low sperm count to bd every other day when ewcw to give a chance for count to build back up. Also says lots more... Why might you give up - how long have you been trying for? Have u tried charting?

NJ - annoying isn't it abt AF and PG symptoms being so similar!

NatalieJane · 17/03/2006 09:35

Oh wannaBe {{{hugs}}}, I really thought this was your month :(

You don't have to give up on the idea of another child, and just because you have been lucky enough to be able to have a child already, doean't mean that you shouldn't feel devastated if it does turn out that you won't have another! Why not have a break (you said you didn't want a Christmas baby anyway didn't you?) don't really try but don't really not try either and then see how you both feel?

I will be thinking of you :)

wannaBe1974 · 17/03/2006 09:28

morning all, hehehe meggmoo seems your baby decided it was ready for you to try before you did! lol. Anyway congrats :).

I'm on CD30 now, still no AF, woke up this morning feeling very nausious, same as I used to with DS, but ... I did a test, bfn :(.

Me and DH talked and said that maybe it's just time we accepted that it isn't meant to be. We have a beautiful DS, so everything to be thankful for really. There are so many couples out there who are unable to conceive even one child, I have no right to be upset really when I already have what some don't, and will never have.

We talked about having tests, to bring closure if nothing else, but I'm not sure whether more tests will bring closure so much as cause more guilt if only one of us has a fertility problem My DH already thinks that it's because of him, he's a prime candidate really for a low sperm count as he travels a lot to work and back, spends long hours sitting at his desk, always tired because of the long hours he works. When we were trying for DS DH was told his sperm count was slightly low, but it was never pursued because I fell pregnant that month. But 4 years on it's highly likely that it could have reduced signifficantly enough to prevent us from conceiving. I don't want DH to carry that kind of guilt, I don't blame him for me not being able to conceive, any more than he would blame me if I was the cause of our inability to conceive. If we never find out then we can just say that it never happened and leave it at that.

I dunnow really, my head is kinda filled with all sorts of things at the moment, but I do think that realistically, I'm not going to conceive another child, and I think that coming to terms with that is the main thing at the moment.

NatalieJane · 17/03/2006 09:16

Congrats Meggmoo, how lucky!!

I am not testing again, I have a lot of symptoms, but they are all also AF symptoms...

Just waiting for AF to arrive and then we can start again.

meggmoo · 17/03/2006 08:48

NJ, you have so many symptoms though, don't you?

When are you going to test again?

meggmoo · 17/03/2006 08:43

Blush ok, I admit we may have had a couple of um, times when we were careless but they were at times when I wouldn't have been ovulating - so we thought anyway! It was a few days agi that dh and I said yes, the time is ready lets try.

And how utterly embarrassing if I got the dates wrong - last AF was Februaury 10th.

I'd have got a faint line, especially on the early tests, if I was PG. The sickness has been getting better the last few days and I managed a cuppa with out feeling too bad this morning. I have just been fooling myself, but now feel much better for getting it out of my system!!

Have got to go, DS is still in the bath, he will be all wrinkly by now!! Might catch you later if not, probably Wednesday :) TC xxx

I just don't feel PG Nellie, I did with DS, so I know what the feeling is, anyway I was getting way to messed up about it all, am now glad of the break!!!

NatalieJane · 17/03/2006 07:53

Yes Beartime still got them :)

Still no sign of AF, but I really don't feel PG, I think I am going to put this month down to experience, and let myself relax in time for next month. I think one of the tests I have done would have had at least a faint line if I was PG, so it is now just a waiting game for AF to arrive.

wannaBe1974 · 17/03/2006 07:48

hmmm yeh never saw that message from nelly there - no it's not possible to test positive within 3 days.

beartime · 16/03/2006 23:05

they must have been sneakily going for it already Grin

NJ have you still got those tests hid away in the cupboard Smile

skerriesmum · 16/03/2006 20:19

Isn't that impossible though, to actually conceive and then test positive within three days Grin?

wannaBe1974 · 16/03/2006 20:18

meggmoo congrats, but dependent on your last AF, you'd be in for a late Nov baby? when I was expecting DS, my last period at the time was on the 6th of Feb, and hence my due date was 13 Nov and he was born on 15 Nov. This time my last AF was on 16 Feb, so if I'm pg this month my due date will be 24 November.
