Totally maybes. Tbh I think people have lots of others being excited round the birth etc, so am trying not to feel too bad about my friend. I hate smug. Seriously wtf. They have not done something right or better than us.

I hate my body now. Stupid body, do what you're made for!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/07/2012 11:58

I don't know whats going on, MN keeps eating my posts!!

Cups and Keep it is so so tough. I knwo that I haven't been there at all for my cousin, partly because she is quite smug and patronising about it, but partly because I don't feel I can be if I want to keep myslef sane. Does that make sense?

keepitgoing · 04/07/2012 11:32

cup i am dreading my sister announcing she is pg. She has a 20 month old, and got pg second month of trying. She's 3 years older than me. I know she's going to start trying soon, and imagine it will happen fast for her. Though I don't want it to take ages for her, I know I will just feel awful when she gets updiffed in seconds. She knows all that we're going through though, but I just don't think you can understand if you've not had any problems yourself.

Biscuitsandtea · 04/07/2012 11:17

Just nipping in to mark mt place so I can continue to stalk y'all Smile

CupcakesAndCocktails · 04/07/2012 10:39

Morning everyone

I am shattered after a busy night at work. Only 2 weeks until holiday. We are off to sunny Wales so am desperately hoping the weather improves.

Keep am brooking that AF stays away.
Ironic BFP coming your way!

Geek and Beedle I am completely confused by this office speak! good luck with twerp face today Geek

Maybe & Sparks I'm totally fed up of pregnancy announcements. My new fear is that my sister will get preggo. She is only 20 but got diagnosed as PCOS recently. Because of that & my situation she is starting to worry about having babies herself. She is 10 years younger than me!!!

My best friends baby is also due in 2 weeks. Ive been feeling awful about it & probably haven't been there for her as much as I should have. She lives far away but I haven't called as much as I normally would as it's been so painful. I know she understands but I still feel guilty. Ttc is a complex business Grin

Imps I'll try your mantra of thinking of it as a brooking babe Smile

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/07/2012 10:08

Morning One, Morning All.

How are we all?

Mags good for you Wink and hurrah for the golden egg.

Keep I really am hoping AF stays away, and that the hospital appointment will be a case of confirming what we already know.

Sparks twas me with the twins announcement. Could it be the same people?

Beedle this talk sounds intriguing. I know nothing about fancy stuff like that though. And don't even get me started on accronyms....

I can't remember what else I wanted to say, as it is all on the other page, but hello to all you lovely brookers.

keepitgoing · 04/07/2012 09:41

mags i meant to say, go you!! Are you still on the clomid? Hopefully this new man has super sperm... :)

god i hate this last part of the cycle. Wish i was more regular as i can spend three days thinking the old cow could be here any second. Small wobble this morning, but DH cheered me up saying at least we should get a plan of action next week at the hosp.

imps are you enjoying your new not-stressing about getting pg. i wish i could do that - do you just do it by being so busy at work all the time?

big wave to cup sweetie scarlett and solars as well

Geeklette · 04/07/2012 07:13

Mornin brookers, just a fly-by-posting from me this morning as I was up later than usual thanks to serial night disturbances.

imps it's wet, grey and 'orrible here, and not looking like it's going to improve much over the next few days. We are promised a good ole thunder storm on Saturday afternoon, so at least that's something to look forward to even if I can't hang my washing out and mow the lawn!

sparks two announcements from work colleagues at my end. I need to transfer into our HR Department. I think they have to take a special HR fertility pill before they are allowed to start work (and that includes the men!!). Either that or it's a 'checkout 13' situation!

keep brooking that it is late implantation/early pregnancy spotting rather than AF. Good luck for your appointment on Tuesday.

beedle loving your attitude to such types of emails! In my context, silo-based thinking means having knowledge limited to one particular thing (ie application/group of pieces of software) and anything else belongs in someone else's 'silo', ie it's mgmt speak for 'not my problem guv'. The longterm plan is for everyone to be able to support all 70 apps that my department support (we aren't a helpdesk, we are third line, ie specialised support so are currently 'siloed' in order for teams to specialise in a given area). Wish you hadn't asked?? Hehe

Horrible night's non sleep last night - MrGeek fell out of bed Confused then just as I was going back to sleep one of the cats decided to try and claw his way through the bedroom door Angry . Lay awake for three hours after that!

Time to get ready for Day 3 of Dink-Boss. It surely can't be worse than day 2. I mean, overtime while I'm on jury service ffs???

BeedleTheBard · 04/07/2012 05:41

Congratulations gen Thanks :o

Can someone explain what "silo-based thinking" is? Not that I really want to know as it sounds really stooopid. We have someone who sends round emails that contain thise type of phrases, but as Google TRanslate can't cope with them (and nor can I ) I just don't read them. If people want me to read their emails they should write them in plain Swedish - or even better in English!! Luckily its not my boss who says these things, and he just laughed when I said I couldn't understand them :o

sparks don't worry about the OPKs, its very rare they I get an IC to show a proper "darker than the control" line, I need to be almost dehydrated and with proper dark coloured wee for that to happen. In fact last month I was so shocked to see a proper dark line, that I dipped a pregnancy test too Blush

imps I don't think you can complain tooo much about it being grey at 10pm :o But if it makes you feel better its a bit grey here, though it will be sunny and hot later (though by hot, I mean above 20deg, we're not talking heatwaves here :o )

keep I hope its not AF making her presence known

Imps7 · 03/07/2012 22:11

Sparks here's a tip - if ever an announcement/preggo lady gets you down just tell yourself they're a Brooker - it really helps!

Is it wet and grey everywhere or just with me??

SecretSparkle · 03/07/2012 21:59

It's a family announcement, I should be happy for them, but I can't help being super jealous!!

keepitgoing · 03/07/2012 21:24

Oh ffs sparks. I hate reading threads on here, too, most people get their bfps so quickly!

keepitgoing · 03/07/2012 21:22

sparkly its just a longer cycle. The opks are not as ordered as we'd like. Can you just leave it to the cbfm...?

Am blue too, as am sure af on her way. The time from pos opk to spotting can be 14-16 days for me, and at 13, so will be coming any day now. I feel her evil crampy signs and already snapped at dh. Sure he doesn't know why and don't want to give the bad news. How can he be in blissful ignorance of where we are in the cycle...!. But. We have our hospital appt on Tuesday.

gen well done you!

SecretSparkle · 03/07/2012 21:16

Thanks guys, just had another preg announcement, so feel even more crushed!! Who said someone had announced twins? Wondering if it's the same people!! SadSadSad

Imps7 · 03/07/2012 21:03

Gen hurrah hurrah hurrah hurrah hurrah!!! Well done MiniCola - good baby!!! Really delighted for you!

Lovi g the Whim/Cups MumsBay auction. Hope you'll give each other good ratings.

Sparks - step away from the OPKs. I really think they can harm more than they can help. I used them once and they were totally inaccurate and caused muchos stress. Could you try a cycle without them? Do you get much pant snot? That should be a better sign of approaching ov than sticks. God knows we know how much they lie (if you know what I mean).

Hope all is well, we WILL beat that AF bitch we WILL!!!

GreenOlives · 03/07/2012 20:07

sparks big hug from me! If its any comfort I used CB Smile opks and the cycle of my bfp I didnt get a Smile face at all but clearly I did ovulate! Like geek says there are lots of factors that affect results on an opk so dont stress about it. Xxx

Geeklette · 03/07/2012 17:48

sparks sweetheart please don't beat yourself up over the sticks says the pot, calling the kettle black the levels really do vary awfully, and the sticks are at the whim of so much. How much you eat/drink/exercise/sweat/stress all has a huge bearing on the reading. I know it's not much consolation, but my sticks were all over the place this month, but at peak time they knew what to do.

Looking at your charts, it's not too unusual for you to ovulate after day 21. You're getting good signs that it's approaching, and I am absolutely brooking no argument, you will get your +OPK in the next couple of days. Nuff said.

SecretSparkle · 03/07/2012 17:23

Sorry to be totes selfish but I need a slap with wet fish or a cuddle, I haven't decided which!!

Just spent the last hour sobbing because my afternoon OPK is much fainter than it was yesterday, suggesting that I'm not ovulating this month! Sad I'm actually miserable because I can't see the point of anything let along swi!!

GreenOlives · 03/07/2012 16:43

You are very chipper today and I can almost smell the BFPs in the air!

Gen LOVE IT! Minicola is showing off true brooking spirit!

Cups No idea about the EPO but well done on the a.m SWI Wink

Solars · 03/07/2012 16:09

YAY generic that's fab news :)

whimsicalname · 03/07/2012 14:32

Great news gen.

geek It is The Law that a new boss makes comments about 'silo based thinking' or 'singing from the same hymn sheet' or 'getting all our ducks in a line / up a flagpole'.

God only knows why they do it. Maybe you could buy an actual drum to take in to the office.
