I was just wondering how many of the ttc people were in their late 30s or 40s.

I am 38 and started ttc this year. It would be nice if we could support each other.

Stingray - very encouraging news. Well done you for being so fertile

K1K2 - good luck for a BFP.

August is going to be my next chance for a BFP, so must be patient....but it's really hard. I feel like I'm wishing my life away!

K1K2 · 04/07/2006 23:20

That's such encouraging news to us all, Stingray... 2nd AF due on Friday following mc, and though I haven't posted anywhere up until now about it this month, things do feel as though I could be pg, as I felt b4 with pg in April.. I have all the little signs that I had b4. The thing is with my first pg, DS, who was a surprise- in the first few weeks I cannot recall how my body felt. Now I am much more aware of my body changes, we'll see on Fri, Good luck to all those testing this weekend

Hello stingray, I hope things go well for you. I will be turning 43 next month and am very down about it. No kids and two m/c's in the last fourteen months, and feeling rather desperate about it all (lots of tests have revealed nothing specific wrong). Your story is very encouraging and I send you lots of good wishes! I know that if I do get pg again it will be very emotionally difficult after what has happened, and I do feel for you.

stingray · 30/06/2006 12:30

Dear princessb, Hi just thought that I would reply to your posting. At the moment I am 16 weeks pregnant, and fingers crossed everything is going very well.I must have got pregnant days after my last posting in march.I cant say that emotionally this has been an easy pregnancy, but we are so very glad to have this chance to experience all this again.Even though I had the two miscarriages last year,I was still lucky to be able to get pregnant three times in one year at the age of 43.So all you ttc dont give up, it can be done.good luck princessb I hope the same happens for you too. lots of love stingray.

K1K2 · 23/06/2006 23:26

Just re-read my post, terrible grammar, " but at least there are more of us" it should be...Have a good weekend all and good luck to all testing, have fun BD 'ing or what ever else that you might be doing on this potentially sunny lovely weekend

Hi Girls, haven't been on for a while, was on my hols. JBW hope your ms is more tolerable. Angathase, good to hear AF is back and things are on track. I am not far behind your AF, with my first AF after mc/ing -came on whilst on holiday and started BDing almost as soon as it stopped. Congrats TFT!Let's hope your good fortune rubs off...Did anyone see the Panorama programme the other day? Quite depressing statistics, but at least there is more of us in the same boat giving each other support- perhaps the government will recognise the valid reasons for women putting off pregancy, as it does help the national ecomony in some ways. Perhaps they will put some government funds into free egg freezing for women who choose to have babies later in their life,as it's only going to cost the NHS anyway in the end if they have conception problems when they do want to try. Lots of luck to the rest of us and of course..

TuttiFrutti - Well done you! Big big Congrats SmileSmileSmile

Hope we can all join you soon.

I'm a bit worried if I do conceive again, will it end in another m/c? Anyone know the odds? Turned 39 last week Sad

spook · 14/06/2006 14:37

Hi everyone!
Have just read this whole thread with huge interest (when I should be cleaning) I am 39 and this is my first month of ttc.
I have 2 gorgeous DS's 9 and 6 but am now happy with a new partner who is 9 years younger than me so would LOVE to have a baby with him.
My lifestyle unfortunately is not exactly conducive to conception-alot of wine and cigarettes and CRAP diet. This will be the first thing to be addressed I guess.
Its lovely to read all your stories-and sad too. But we are all in it together and I will be watching and wishing for all of us.

princessb · 14/06/2006 13:43

Hi stingray i had to reply to yr thread- it struck a chord, espec about the 2 babies lost. I lost one last summer - a little accident that came as a big surprise.I'm 38, have ds 12yrs dd 6yrs dss 7yrs and feel time is running out but dd wants a vasectomyShock so feel doubly pressured - to stop time and dd going ahead. He doesn't want to put me thru another miscarriage but i long to hold my baby. like you the thought of never experiencing birth again saddens me. sorry to go on and so grateful for the children and love we have already. will stop now!!!

TuttiFrutti · 14/06/2006 13:16

My finger-crossing worked! Now 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant, and on Antenatal Feb 2007 thread.

Angsthase · 13/06/2006 20:23

bump

TuttiFrutti · 05/06/2006 13:46

I'm still ttc (only on month 2 though Smile). I'm on cd24 so keeping all fingers crossed for a preg test in a few days' time.

Angsthase · 05/06/2006 10:58

Hi Girls, just giving this a little bump. Got AF at w/e so back on track for the next round of TTC (ding ding - round 2!)

How's everyone doing?

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 31/05/2006 20:21

I am 38 and 10 months and ttc.Have dd aged 2.5 and lost little girl last april at 25 weeks pregnant.I have been ttc since last may and am going in for a lap and dye tomorrow to see whats going on and why I am not getting pregnant
Good luck to us all Smile

TuttiFrutti · 31/05/2006 19:17

Hi everyone. I'm still ttc - well, only in month 2 but I say "still" because I kind of hoped it would happen immediately this time. Trying not to think about it all the time and to fill life with other things, but it's hard when you're literally counting the days.

sideways · 31/05/2006 18:06

Hi everyone. Haven't posted for a while as things have been a bit quiet here - not even ttc last month. Waiting to see what happens this month - had grapefruit juice and epo, but didn't really take them that regularly as we were moving house so I lost the routine.

Hope the ms eases off soon, jabberwocky.

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 31/05/2006 01:06

ms easing off a bit, here's hoping this is my last week of it.

How are things going with you?

K1K2 · 30/05/2006 23:49

This thread's gone a bit quiet, thought I'd bump it up. How are you feeling Jabberwocky??

jabberwocky · 18/05/2006 00:35

about 9 1/2 weeks and, tbh, it's been a much rockier road than the last time. I've been almost constantly queasy since about 6 weeks and my thyroid level plummeted quickly (I've had low thyroid for years). Luckily, this doctor does blood work at 8 weeks instead of the 10 -12 favored by others and found it last week. I started a higher dosage of synthroid a week ago and have started to feel better.

Here's hoping the second trimester gets a little easier :)

ShouldKnowByFriday · 17/05/2006 23:40

How many weeks are you now Jaberwocky and how are you feeling?

jabberwocky · 17/05/2006 23:29

It is now called low-dose aspirin. People who have heart problems take it and it should be next to the regular aspirin. The reason it is still called baby aspirin by some of us is that it was given to small children in the sixties and early seventies before Reye's (sp?) syndrome was discovered.
