Any older mums ttc (late 30s)?

I was just wondering how many of the ttc people were in their late 30s or 40s.

I am 38 and started ttc this year. It would be nice if we could support each other.

Yes, I was the same, got pg at drop of a hat with both my two and just assumed it would happen straight away again - especially as my doc said I was back to full fertility as soon as I had my Mirena out and implied that the next time she saw me I'd be pg!! Not worried about the age gap at all, my dd's have nearly 4 years between them and it's been no problem. I haven't really thought about the age gap if I have another - perhaps I should though, my eldest will be 10 (at least) by the time next one is born!

Hi everyone. I have a 2.9 yr old and would love another. I got pregnant really quickly last time and sort of assumed it would be the same this time. Must remember that I'm older now and definitely not as fit.

I am starting to panic about the age gap, as I don't want them to be too far apart. Does anyone else worry about that?

Me too! I'm 38 with DD of 2.5. TTC asap so support thread is great idea. Well done!

Steppy, how did you train to be a doula?

TuttiFrutti · 27/02/2006 18:50

I'm 38 and am not yet TTC but will be in a couple of months time (would be now if dh would let me!!!). I have one ds, 10 months.

Respect to Possum for trying again so quickly. I don't think I could have faced it when ds was 5 months, but life has got easier since then and I keep thinking how nice it would be to be pg again...

Steppy1 · 27/02/2006 17:32

... should add not trying ttc (DH had vasectomy !) but secretly would love to have had another baby about now....I am a birth doula so get my "fix" that way... it's wonderful !

Steppy1 · 27/02/2006 17:29

...had my ds (now 5) when I was 37 then dd at 39.... left high flying career and never looked back.... would like a bit more sleep sometimes but wouldn't change it for the world.......

Hi sideways
I am 39 and ttc! I am new to mn, have lurked and read messages of encouragement etc for about a week, summoning up the courage to join. I have 2 dd's, one 9 and one 6 (today!) - have been ttc-ing for about 6 months. How about you?
