Welcome to the 2.30 from Mumsnet Towers. The fillies have been groomed to within an inch of their lives and are raring to go.

Late entries for the race are required to locate and fill in the BESHtionnaire so that their form can be assessed.

Bring on the stallions!

They did say I was a nice patient though. And it took three doctors and about 15 tries in both wrists to get an artery for the thingie they stick in there.

The last doctor came and asked me nicely and said they were really battling to get my artery. I told him I wanted some heaven in a cup and he gave me his own Diet Coke to drink.

Then he continued to stab the crap out of me obviously... Grin

KickTheGuru · 20/07/2012 17:08

And it's not like on ER (the program) when you come in and they all flap and it's yelling and chaotic. I didn't even really figure anything was serious even 3 days later when I was in the High Dependency Unit. They just walked around and did what needed to be done.

I was also the annoying little bastard who just wanted to get up and go for a slow walk to the toilet (not the commode!) and they unstrapped me all nicely and unhooked me and put all my wires into easier places and took me for a short walk. No problems.

Limitless patience. I still need to write a letter to say thanks.

Northey · 20/07/2012 17:05

:o dynorod

I love nurses. They have so much empathy and give the impression of having so much time, even though they are probably rushed off their feet. Though I suppose I have had some dragony ones as well.

KickTheGuru · 20/07/2012 17:00

Oh wow have the changed it now so that they limit the risk of multiple births? I didn't know that. Does that not reduce the chance of one egg being fertilised?

Wow that sounds rubbish :(
I like nurses. They saved my life :) And my mum is a nurse :D

HaveALittleFaith · 20/07/2012 16:46

My sister's friend has twins -IVF just before they changed to one egg transfer only. They are gorgeous boys, very different! I think she would describe it as double the joy but very hard work! For her, she didn't know if she'd ever get diffed - she has severe endo - so for her it was bonus because she knew she'd never be able to have any more. I always wanted two kids but to honest I thought I'd be going for #2 by this point. We said we'd see how long it took to win a baybee after MSB's ishoos were fixed but of course we didn't figure in needing the dynorod. I honesty don't think we'll be able to put ourselves through TTC again....twins would be great but I recognise it's not easy! :)

What a day :( virtually everyone in tears. One ward closed. Everyone being asked about their preferencs. My 1:1 was very much in theory if you go back as a staff nurse but a possible opportunity to expand something I'm currently doing within my role is in the pipeline so we'll see. Add in PMS and I've now collapsed on the sofa with a Cuppa! Oof!

KickTheGuru · 20/07/2012 16:13

I think we could all do with simplicity and something easy and nice.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 20/07/2012 16:10

A baby will do, hear hear. So with you KAG.

I heard plenty of twin traumas as well, euro. So I don't think I would have more than one embie transferred if I went for IVF... But one can simply dream of twin perfection!

KickTheGuru · 20/07/2012 16:02

Yeh we had twins on both grandparents sides. I think if you have enough kids, you increase the chance of multiples.

I heard some horrors as well - bedridden from 30 odd weeks!

A baby will do actually. I am not too picky :)

eurochick · 20/07/2012 16:00

Kick I guess so. My mum was expecting twins after me but lost them. My paternal grandmother is a non-id twin. I think the risk of multiples goes up as you get older too.

It would be cool to get it all out the way in one go, but having seen a close friend go through a twin pregnancy, it looks tough! She was huge and very uncomfortable, and then her waters went at 31 weeks and she was on bedrest until they got the babies out at 35 weeks.

KickTheGuru · 20/07/2012 15:48

Fingers crossed for twins then

Nope, I am currently at home moping on my own being all sad and mopy. I am hitting the whiskey after a nice bubble bath.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 20/07/2012 15:38

Never too early for whisky (you're not doing a resposible job as we speak, I hope, KAG). I would join you but am going to a yoga class this evening and will struggle enough without the additional challenge of uncoordinated limbs. Oh and I am still working, clearly Wink

And I really would love twins, such a wonderful thought to be over and done with this TTC-lark in one go. I think over 2 years is plenty of that. And that is a real possibility now as I am attempting a few stimulated IUI cycles next (with gonal-f, I think, but I need to get hold of the clinic, which has only crazy phone in times which clash with lunch important meetings).

All of you, have good weekends! I intend to spend lots of it outside as the sun is coming :)

PS cake thanks for the uplifting diffage story, although very sorry for the MC. Pleased it happened for you eventually again and now for real!

KickTheGuru · 20/07/2012 15:30

I always thought the best thing about having twins is that your kid never grows up alone.

FriendofDorothy · 20/07/2012 15:29

I really wanted to have twins. Thought it would be fin. Maybe I was being delusional though!

KickTheGuru · 20/07/2012 15:28

I have an embarrassing admission - had a sob fest this morning so am pondering on hitting whiskey now. Any objections?

I wouldn't mind having twins. 2-for-1.

Bonus :D

Are twins in your family then?

eurochick · 20/07/2012 15:26

Kick on the scan for one of my unmedicated IUI cycles, I laid two eggs. If I figure out how I managed that, I will let you know! (Mind you, I didn't end up with one baby let alone two, but managed to spend the whole 2ww alternately terrified/thrilled at the prospect of two!)

KickTheGuru · 20/07/2012 15:00

How do you miss being pregnant with twins? Shock

Oh wait - did she know she was 11 weeks but found out yesterday it was twins?

I want twins. What did she do? My DH said he would "run away but then come home" if I had twins... [grins]

sinkingflameofhilarity · 20/07/2012 11:22

Don't you bloody start norf! not that it hadn't crossed my mind

I'm cd15. Full, battle of the Somme droid. It wasn't implantation, trust me!

I would love this to be a surprise diff, but am just overworked, over stressed and tired.

Grump grump grump etc.

Northey · 20/07/2012 10:27

No chance you are, is there, sinkster?

sinkingflameofhilarity · 20/07/2012 09:41

Morning.

Am sat at work, feeling knackered and nauseated, knowing I have 3 long days to work. Blurgh.

Not helping that people assume I'm pregnant. Not helped by the nurse who found out yesterday she's 11 weeks with twins.

Sigh. I'm hosting my own pity party. And faifes pussy pits aren't healing the sicky feeling Wink

He sounds a most splendid young chap, kat.

KatAndKit · 20/07/2012 08:21

We are doing fine. He is a sleep refusing type and I am very tired but other than that all is grand. Can't believe he is 3 months old already!

HaveALittleFaith · 20/07/2012 08:18

Ooh ouch kat! I'd rather not!

Nice to see you! How are you and your baybee doing? :)

KatAndKit · 20/07/2012 07:36

Must read fred in correct order. There was I reading it flipped thinking you were applying extra strong anti persipirant to your shaven and pus-ridden foof!

HaveALittleFaith · 20/07/2012 07:28

I hate waiting for it re grow for waxing norf. Plus it cost money! I'm just going to be gentler with the extra strong anti-perspirant and shave slightly less.

Today I have my 1:1 at work to say what I want out of the reconfiguration process. Trouble is I'm not sure!
