Welcome to the 2.30 from Mumsnet Towers. The fillies have been groomed to within an inch of their lives and are raring to go.

Late entries for the race are required to locate and fill in the BESHtionnaire so that their form can be assessed.

Bring on the stallions!

Ooh exciting norf! I tried on lots of dresses before I found the right one. I kept seeing myself in the mirror and thinking that's not right. When I found my dress I looked in the mirror and thought I look like a bride!
Mine was quite structured to hold the ladies in place and boned so it kept my stomach in.

Northey · 21/07/2012 12:17

I have just been trying on a wedding dress I bought yesterday! I don't think I'm the type who looks right on wedding dresses. I have too much bosom and a bit of a thing about not displaying it in church. But it was scandalously cheap in the monsoon sale, so I thought I would buy it anyway, and keep it as an option.

HaveALittleFaith · 21/07/2012 12:02

Yes definitely a large head, very square initially although it seemed to stretch up as time went on. In retrospect, he has scary eyebrows! Ah just saw the first Joey/Pacey kiss :) I'm just pottering round the house tidying before I hit the garden now!

ShredniVashtar · 21/07/2012 11:46

Never mind Dawson's enlarged head, it was their enlarged vocabulary that always made me laugh! Seriously, what teenagers ever have conversations like that?

Hooray for sunshine! Have just tackled some of the bigger weeds in the garden. Tis shocking what's been happening out there these past weeks!

Off to the seaside later to spend time with the outlaws. Hopefully there won't be too much chat about DSIL who's about to have her baby 10 days after mine would have been due. It's a different branch of GFBW's family so should be more centred on sitting on the beach drinking wine and eating cheese!

Northey · 21/07/2012 11:38

It's only another way of saying I'm staring at the flowers and wondering what colour to paint my toenails!

Dawson's Creek! I was always too distracted by the really abnormally large head that Dawson had to be able to relax into it properly. Seriously his head blocks out the sun!

HaveALittleFaith · 21/07/2012 10:46

Sounds deeps norf. I'm vegging on the sofa with a giant mug of tea in my jammies watching shhh Dawson's Creek. Good grief, it's dated! I used to luff this show. The clothes in particular! I'm enjoying it, it's just.....a bit awful really. I still have a crush on Josh Jackson though Wink

Northey · 21/07/2012 10:26

Bastard bastard droid, faith. How rude of it to turn up early.

Sunny day here too. I am lying on the (still slightly damp) grass and contemplating things.

HaveALittleFaith · 21/07/2012 09:21

Chose back to bed to sleep! Thanks ladies. Yes I do believe it's sunny out there shreds :) need to tidy the house a bit but I reckon I might actually garden!

ShredniVashtar · 21/07/2012 08:35

Xpost, cave! Smile

ShredniVashtar · 21/07/2012 08:34

Oh faith that is tough! Fecking stupid fecking droid! I prescribe going back to bed with a cuppa. Is it due to brighten up weather-wise where you are? I always find it helps when the sun is out might explain why I've been such a grumpy cah recently

CaveMum · 21/07/2012 08:32

Sorry about the droid Faith [burys droid in muck pit]

Good news about your dad though Grin you must be very happy.

Oh honestly, droid has arrived and three days early the bugger! Never thought I was diffed but still Confused every time I think I know my body...at least it's at the weekend so I can crawl back into bed and die slowly

HaveALittleFaith · 20/07/2012 21:33

Oof I dunno norf. There's good news and bad times.

Bad news first - work is completely upheaved with the reconfiguration. Fortunately i get on like house ln fire with the ward sister i share an office with. Even to,d her abut our TTC woes! Our day today has mostly consisted of consoling staff and handing out tissues. Ironically neither of us know what's happening to us either!

I will try to be positive :) Very good news! DDad has been told there's no traceable cancer in his bloods so the hormones seem to have helped. He was almost of the attitude he didn't need the radiotherapy but they may as well continue since he's started, making noises like he might be cancer free, yay! Grin

Generally aside from tonight and pantgate MSB and I are getting on better. The housework is certainly better. Pain is tolerable at present. I wonder if ghe exercise is helping. I'm dying of curiosity to weigh myself but have resisted so far.

So on balance, it's mostly good and the really bad stuff is getting better. It's just work really but that should settle down and it'll be better in the long run. I think about sums it up!

Northey · 20/07/2012 20:59

There can be such background strain in all of this :( And you've ha so much other stuff to deal with recently as well. How are things now?

HaveALittleFaith · 20/07/2012 20:56

Eurgh just had a big row. Seems the memories of the ishoos in the bedroom are not as far in the past as we thought. Not when I've got PMS too. I've been for a long walk since and cooled off a bit. We've apologised and recognised we both overreacted.

Lordy me these antibiotics are vile They've made my stomach ache, I feel desperately hungry but with stomach ache. I don't think I'll stick the course!

InTheSunshine · 20/07/2012 18:13

Kick if only it was that easy!

HaveALittleFaith · 20/07/2012 18:10

I used to worry about it but DNephew is gawjus, I dunno if Dsis will have any more. I think as long as you teach them to be grateful for what they get it's fine.

KickTheGuru · 20/07/2012 18:08

sunny

Have a child and love it. That's worth more than siblings. :)

HaveALittleFaith · 20/07/2012 18:06

Oh sunny I'm glad to hear that's rolled around for you :)

InTheSunshine · 20/07/2012 18:00

I secretly hope that IF we're given the ok for IVF then we will have twins. I wonder whether it's 'ok' to have a child knowing there is very little chance of them of having siblings.

We finally get to see the geneticist next week. Only taken a bloody year!

eurochick · 20/07/2012 17:31

At King's they say one embryo under 35 but recommend two over that age. Having just seen what my friend went through I expressed a clear preference for one anyway!

(BTW, her twins were from a single embryo transfer - it split!)

KickTheGuru · 20/07/2012 17:18

I will definitely. I had momentarily forgotten but you've actually just reminded me. I will do it this weekend :)

KickTheGuru · 20/07/2012 17:17

faith It definitely has to do vulnerability. You're literally in the worst place you could potentially ever be and the people looking after you are the ones you place the most faith in.

That said, there must be some annoying as all hell patients as well. I particularly love the ones who think the "alarm" bell is some kind of silver bell for them to call for service!! :)

HaveALittleFaith · 20/07/2012 17:14

kick do write and say thank you. We really really appreciate it! Sometimes thank yous have even been known to make people cry :)

HaveALittleFaith · 20/07/2012 17:12

It's like everything, there are fab nurses and there are some absolutely terrible not so good ones. Thing is, it's a key issue because if a not so good one is looking after you or your loved one, it affects you more significantly than say, a person who is serving you in a shop or a bank. I guess it's about vulnerability.

Yes certainly in my PCT they changed it about 3 years ago (just after the friend I mentioned had her boys) - I think it's stats about risk versus successful implantation.
