Welcome to the 2.30 from Mumsnet Towers. The fillies have been groomed to within an inch of their lives and are raring to go.

Late entries for the race are required to locate and fill in the BESHtionnaire so that their form can be assessed.

Bring on the stallions!

Gah I had a bit of a meltdown last night. My inlaws are staying for a week which is fine and they are lovely people, but I am knackered and sick to death with picking up after them. Neither of them appear to know how to put stuff in the dishwasher and they look at it like it is black magic or something.

What really annoyed me though was that two nights last week I went to bed at just after 9pm. Partly because I wanted to watch something different on TV, partly because my back hurt and partly because I didn't want to sit in the lounge and watch any more fucking football. I am a happy to watch the England matches but my inlaws are die-hard football fans and therefore watch all of them. I never, ever go to sty at their house and make demands on what they watch on their TV, but them come to my house and insist on watching it.

So, my lovely husband criticised me for going to bed early and I lost my rag and got really upset. Now I am left feeling like I am being unreasonable.

It's not like they are unpleasant people, they are lovely but they just do things differently and I think I am hormonal and knackered. Even worse The Mister is working 8am-8pm tonight so it is up to me to entertain all day.

Phew. Sorry about that BESHes, I just needed to let off a bit of steam.

Ovaries of Steel! Sounds like a Superhero tag line!

Oooo, perhaps that should be the theme for our next fred? Superheroes!

OP posts:
Northey · 24/06/2012 08:35

You have ovaries of steel, woman! Roll on the new drugs, I guess.

I have a tender udder and an odd amount of thin pant snot. CD25.

CaveMum · 24/06/2012 08:21

[tosses mane and paws at straw]

Well CD43 here and still no sign of ov. I've taken a pregnancy test this morning, as instructed, and it was negative - not that I expected it to say anything else.

A day of cleaning and assignment writing for me today. My assignment is about, and I'm not joking, stallion selection Grin

Honestly, it was the best 2 quid I've ever spent! Grin I wish I was 2 again. Life is so simple at that age. And when things are excited, they're so exciting!

I have the same issue with the buzzwams. In fact I have bras for the latter end of my cycle. I can only sleep in best with bra support the last week before the droid turns up. Sometimes I weirdly find the only comfy way to sleep in on my front. Are you wearing v-neck tops to show them off euro?

eurochick · 23/06/2012 20:12

I can't stop groping my own buzzwams (v gently). They have never been this big before! I am spilling out of my bras all day and having to take them off in the evenings. KFZK has been informed that he can look but not even think about touching! They were so painful last night they kept me awake as I must have smacked them with my arm or something every time I turned over.

Faith who wouldn't luff a magnetic duck fishing rod, eh?

HaveALittleFaith · 23/06/2012 19:43

Weird to admit but I like the word stimming. stimming, stimming it gets stuck in my head! I'm sure the process isn't fun though

eurochick · 23/06/2012 14:12

Norfy I'm on day 7 of downregging. I have tits like huge things made entirely out of ouch and am on day 3 of period pains with no bleed (which I was quite glad about until yesterday afternoon as it meant the colposcopy could be done). How lovely that the downregging drugs basically give you a whole load of pregnancy symptoms whilst simultaneously throwing you into the menopause Confused. (Yes, I have done a test and it was of course a BFN). Monday week I have my scan which I think is to check that the ovaries are switched off and the womb lining is thin. If all is well, I think I then start the stimming drugs. I take those for 10 days or so, until the eggs are about ready, then I take the trigger shot and have egg collection. I'll be glad to get the drugs out of the fridge frankly, they take up half a shelf and have been there since March!

Pone I'm glad the foal is doing well now.

alwyn · 23/06/2012 13:43

Hi BESHes!!! Sorry for the AWOL this week - trying to get a billion lazy Year 11s through coursework they should have finished about 6 months ago has meant not much MN time available!

Loving the horsey theme as well, can I introduce POASing Myself Laughing as mine?

Currently having lovely PMS-type cramps, while being at least a week away from estimated Droid. Will NOT symptom spot and fuel the menkul......

Hope everyone else is doing ok, and to the new filly!

Northey · 23/06/2012 12:51

Shut up pone! I am young and sprightly. I AM!

Poor refluxy little foal. Hopefully he'll be back on his oats soon.

Where are you in the cycle, euro? What happens next?

HaveALittleFaith · 23/06/2012 10:36

Aww, poor little mite. from what I know reflux can make baybees feel really rubbish. Glad he's got a disgnosis and on the mend though!

Yes to quote Bridget Jones - It is a truth universally acknowledged that when one part of your life starts going okay, another falls spectacularly to pieces

AlpinePony · 23/06/2012 10:31

He's getting better, following a hospital appointment last week diagnosing reflux he seems to be on the mend and after 18 weeks he's now a happy little boy.

My nag has arthritis though and this is difficult. Always someone sick eh!?

HaveALittleFaith · 23/06/2012 10:07

pone. poneyponeypone! How the divil are you? How'd your snuffly baybee?

HaveALittleFaith · 23/06/2012 10:06

I've started spotting. I think the end is nigh or should that be neigh? for this cycle :(

AlpinePony · 23/06/2012 10:02

I love the thread title. Not sure the ESH are young and sprightly flat racers though - knackered old steeplechasers more like. ;)

Here's to many wins this month with few hurdles.

eurochick · 23/06/2012 09:54

This reminds me of the cringe-worthy "you can milk anything with nipples" scene in a film. Meet The Parents, I think.

I have mega sore boobs. I can't stand a bra on them and without a bra any sudden movements make me wince. But don't get excited. It seems to be a common side effect of the downregging drugs. Along with a late period. Helpful how the downregging side effects are also pregnancy symptoms, isn't it? Confused I am considering going for a run but I think it will bloody hurt. I might try two sports bras and see if that does the trick.

ShredniVashtar · 23/06/2012 09:24

Giddy up, giddy up! I like the new fred! I shall be riding the magnificent Unituber to victory, with my trusty polecat ferret running alongside.

CD 16 here - think I ovd yesterday or day before, which is early - and we had a sechs fail last night. Sigh. Its really hard saying "don't worry, it's fine" when inside you're just going grrrrrr! All better this morning though after a luffly long sleep.

CaveMum · 23/06/2012 07:36

Yup, would be udder (singular). Have milked a mare in the past - very odd experience!

Disclaimer - she had a sick foal who couldn't stand to feed so we had to milk her to relieve pressure in the udder.

Good morning everyone.

cavey, what's the proper name for a horse's breasts? I am (I think) 7dpo, and have slightly tender ones. Udders?

HaveALittleFaith · 22/06/2012 22:51

Hmm fighterjetfanjo eh? Glad it didn't look nasty euro. Hoping and praying it's all ok. Time to go back to sticking your fingers in your ears and lala-ing then?

I am feeling post-running-y. Somewhere between sore and pleased. Had a nice long soak in the tub and read my book.

sinky fair play to you! You'd have been chilled to the bone!

sinkingflameofhilarity · 22/06/2012 22:15

Fighterjet Fanjo would be a good name for a horse you know...

V good news euro that there was nothing to see. Fingers etc crossed for the next 10 days.

Am sat up waiting to pick up ghj from a BBQ. For some reason, I found myself a convincing excuse not to go. I suspect it was a little windy and wet.

Northey · 22/06/2012 21:59

A fighter jet up your fanjo? That must have been a heck of a speculum. Brilliant news that there was nothing immediately visible, and fingers crossed that the new smear result is equally good.

Good exercising, faith. I must get back in that particular saddle.

I can't remember my horse's name. I think she might have been called Buttercup. That is her stable name. She also has a race name (see how up with the horsey world I am?), which is Hoof-Hearted. Because I am easily amused by childish humour.

Anyway, she is sitting patiently while I practise my Dettori-style flying dismounts.

CamelKnees · 22/06/2012 21:59

euro glad he didn't see anything to cause immediate concern. Fingers crossed results will be good. You sound like need a vat-full of gin after today.

CaveMum · 22/06/2012 21:37

Euro, glad the gynae was supportive, and sounds like he did his best to reassure you. Stupid thing to say I know, but try not to worry while you wait for the results. We always manage to imagine the worst possible scenario, but things are very very rarely that bad.
