Welcome to the 2.30 from Mumsnet Towers. The fillies have been groomed to within an inch of their lives and are raring to go.

Late entries for the race are required to locate and fill in the BESHtionnaire so that their form can be assessed.

Bring on the stallions!

Oh a down thread Sad

Gin and carrots all round I think.

Perhaps this will cheer us all up. One for the Cumberbatch fans out there Wink

Not an easy time for the BESH all told.... euro I agree with bugs you are one hell of a strong woman. Try to be kind to yourself cheesy phrase but you know what I mean lots of long baths and chocolate. I too am learning. I realise I have leaned loads in the 18 months I've been on MN. Don't much about being diffed but know lots about how to get diffed know Hmm
bugs I'm glad to hear there's no bleeding. Hang in there. I'm thinking growy thoughts for baybee.
sinks I'm really hoping the new clinic are set up to advise you and support you appropriately!
I've had a luffly day, lazy morning followed by going over to see my friend. She was my housemate in uni and at one time she was all the way in Cumbria and I missed her loads. Now she's in Worksop so less than an hour from here :) we went for a long walk and a good old chinwag and put the world to rights! She always makes me laugh and I think the exercise and albeit infrequent sunshine have perked me up. Chill out tonight watching the footie with MSB.

I've got everything crossed for you, Laura & Bugs.

Norfy I'm not sure. I definitely have one more week of downregging until I have my scan to make sure everything is "switched off" and then more if it isn't. And then I think I continue with a lower dose of the downregging drug whilst I add the stimming drugs on top for around 10 days, or until my ovaries have grown follicles to the right size. So, it depends, but most likely about another 3 weeks. I suspect KPZK is removing all sharp objects from the house as we speak. He was rather worried earlier about going shooting again next weekend....

My horse is a glossy black (to match my mood) stallion called Fury. He's a bit twitchy and bitey, so watch out.

LauraPalmerish · 24/06/2012 18:25

Wow, Euro - I'm learning so much through your experience. The people I've known who've gone through IVF haven't been very forthcoming with details (which makes complete sense), so this is all new to me. Totally understand about the hormonal business, though. I've never been good on synthetic hormones either - makes me even witchier than I am normally!

We've been having a very quiet weekend. I'm tired and emotionally up-and-down. I know I should be happy but I'm really down. Only 16 more sleeps to get past the same number of pg days I got to with the 1st mc (which happened at 71 days and after we saw a heartbeat Sad). I know I'll feel better if we can make it past that 71-day marker.

Northey · 24/06/2012 18:09

Still no bleeding, though?

Northey · 24/06/2012 18:05

I know. Like I said before, it's a horrible balancing act between keeping positive and preparing yourself for the worst.

Now then, you know perfectly well that symptoms mean practically nothing in early diffage. Some people start morning sickness seconds after sex, and others don't have a single symptom till 20 weeks. The only thing that counts is the next scan. How long do you have left to wait, buggerlovey?

FriendofDorothy · 24/06/2012 17:51

Bugs I had next to no symptoms... hang in there :)

cave, I quite enjoyed the scheduled sechs when I was having tracking scans last cycle. After so long having sex every other day through very long cycles, the romance and excitement was, ahem, on the wane anyway, so I sort of saw this as more like medically sanctioned downtime with a shag in the middle. It was a lovely rest.

euro, have you had any advice on how long the hormonal mentalness lasts?

eurochick · 24/06/2012 17:25

Ward IVF off for as long as possible. It's shit. My buzzwams are calming down slightly (although speedbumps still make me wince) but I appear to have turned into Eeyore. I am utterly miserable. And I keep having the urge to cry - cute toddlers, a dead fox at the roadside, more rain, you name it, it's close to setting me off. I fucking hate being on hormonal drugs. I knew they would do this to me. FFS even the Pill does this to me and these are much stronger. I just don't cope well with artificial hormones.

I really want to stop, but if the cervical stuff means I should have treatment before pregnancy it would be good to have embryos stored.

Cave we were having swi on schedule when I was on Letrozole + tracking scans. It wasn't actually as bad as it might otherwise have been as we were already doing it EOD/every day around ov anyway, so it didn't make much difference.

rollo me too but it's down to chocolate...

queenrollo · 24/06/2012 15:48

just marking my place so this thread comes up in my 'threads i'm on' as i do like to keep up with what's going on with you lot.

News here is that the nausea is kicking in, i cried at something daft on the radio in the car earlier and only one pair of my trousers will now do up....

sinkingflameofhilarity · 24/06/2012 14:43

Fair point. No ones ever talked to me about it beyond giving me clomid. I always thought (assumed) IUI was no use in PCOS, but with tracking etc I don't see why not now I think about it.

So, when I make it to clinic must be pleased, not disappointed, if a non-ivf option is suggested.

The more I learn the more I think my clinic is/was shite.

CaveMum · 24/06/2012 14:27

It is NHS, though I know it differs from authority to authority.

The nurse told me that IVF is a long way off for me at the moment, my problems are with timing (getting the sperm and egg in the right place at the right time) rather than a problem with sperm /egg quality, so IVF would be overkill at this stage! There is always IUI before IVF too.

alwyn · 24/06/2012 14:22

That definitely seems like sechs on. schedule cave :(

sinkingflameofhilarity · 24/06/2012 13:42

Should say though, that my previous unit doesn't do folicle tracking or blood tests on clomid, so maybe isn't a centre to be particularly trusted.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 24/06/2012 13:40

Sounds good, well, maybe not good, but effective!

Are you nhs? I've not anything like that offered to me, and I think we're in a pretty similar position. I think I'm seeing this new clinic for ivf, but maybe they'll throw something like this at me. Not sure how I'll feel about that, I'm sort of psyching myself up for ivf, especially as I have several friends who succeeded on the first attempt.

CaveMum · 24/06/2012 12:37

I've had 5 cycles of Clomid so far, this is my "WTF cycle" after they got my blood test wrong Hmm. Technically I have 1 more go on Clomid (I have the pills), but as the ovulation has not been reliable enough they want to move me on.

I have my appointment next month and the nurse said it was likely I'll be moved onto follicle tracking, which involves different drugs. Not sure if they are tablets or injections, but I'll find out. Then they'll have me in for regular scans to check I'm growing eggs and when one follicle gets big enough they'll inject me to trigger ov and send me off for sechs.

How romantic!

Morning folks.

I am still in bed, and fully enjoying my first lie in and day off in 7 (seven!) weeks. And GHJ is making me a bacon sandwich.

Dor, the boy would watch every match, but also every bloody televised cricket, golf, snooker, hockey and rugby game. (rugby I don't mind, but sheesh). Fortunately years of moaning have ground him down and it's not the onslaught it could be. And given Scotland are pretty dreadful at football, i'm relatively protected from the Euros. Thank the lord. YADNBU

Cave, what cycle of clomid are you on now? I almost miss it (almost).

CD 72 here... And no news yet about a clinic appt. (I've lost the bets, but pretty sure you're out Faife, you optimistic fool)

CamelKnees · 24/06/2012 10:38

Morning fillies!

cavey sorry about the BFN. They're always disheartening even when you fully expect to see them. I took one 2 days ago on CD4 due to very strange 'here one minute then gone the next' droid. So fcked off I can't tell you. Bled on Cd1 then again yesterday briefly but that's it! Bloody buggery idiot body. What's next after clomid?

Dot YADNBU. I'm sick to the back teeth of football (bear in mind we're currently on hold and HY still wants to watch it every night). The rule in our house is definitely all non-England games are watched elsewhere. In-laws however are a law unto themselves IMO. Mine have been known to come into our house when DD is watching something on cbeebies normally to try and avert massive toddler meltdown and turn it over to put sky sports on! Makes my blood boil everytime. Have you played the diffed card with the mister yet ? Even if you were being unreasonable I think diffed-ness trumps everything else!

CaveMum · 24/06/2012 10:17

Oh Dor you are most definitely not bring unreasonable. Is there a pub nearby you can dispatch them to to watch the football? Maybe "accidentally" knock the cable out of the back of your tv?!

As regards my non-ripening ovaries, I'm going to play it by ear. I have just over two weeks until my appointment. If droid turns up in the next week or so, I'll take the tablets, if not I will wait until after the appointment. I'm presuming I won't get anything at this appointment as it is at the main hospital rather than the fertility clinic. If its like last time, I'll then need a second appointment with the nurses at the clinic to get my drugs, etc. The gap between my last two appointments was about 2 months.

HaveALittleFaith · 24/06/2012 09:53

No no no YANNNNNNBU! Duh!

HaveALittleFaith · 24/06/2012 09:52

YABU dor we have the same issue with football in our house and we agree that I will watch the England matches but MSB watches all the other matches in another room. You're diffed and exhausted and running round after your in-laws while you're in your parents house! You should be telling him to tell them to make more effort IMO!

cavey they are ovaries of steel indeed. What are you thinking re taking the last course of clomid?

I POAS this morning, BFN. Thought it would be.dont feel any different to any other cycle. Still a bit :( but on the very small bright side at least I have a mooncup to use now!
