Incredibly faint blue line

I have just done a pregnancy test and there is definitely a very very very very faint line - it is almost invisible but there is definitely something and it is slightly more obvious where the lines cross. Do you think this is positive or just wishful thinking? When I've done them before, there has never been anything but this is really really really faint - you'd almost miss it.

I spent the whole day yesterday feeling terrified too Woody! Are you on one of the ante-natal boards? I joined march yesterday which I think I am just about due in. There are about four people on it so far!

EugenesAxe · 21/06/2012 20:04

Also had bleeding (twice) - tell your doc so they can arrange early scan at FAU perhaps, but as I say both my bleeds went on to be healthy babies.

EugenesAxe · 21/06/2012 20:01

No I'd say it was the real thing. If you're keen I presume it's early in your cycle so perhaps not much HGH (or whatever it is) present yet.

I'd get someone to verify you aren't imagining it perhaps, but every packet I've ever seen says a line is a line, however faint. Nice one!!

Congratulations posy! That's brilliant. I'm surprised how maternal I feel already but also how nervous I feel about everything. And I can't believe how bad the nausea is already!

Congrats. I had brown bleeding when pregnant with dd. It is really common. My lovely GP sent me for an early scan, I was just 6 weeks pregnant and you could see the heart beat Grin

NicolaHazel · 20/06/2012 20:13

Congrats posy.

Good to see a nice steady stream of BFPs this month :-)

posypoo · 20/06/2012 19:52

Ooh a darker line! That must definitely mean you are pregnant. Congratulations! I have just googled the pink discharge thing, and someone who had it at 5 weeks is currently 38 weeks pregnant... (her doctor had also said it was common).

I didn't test last night as I was too late to stop at the shops but I have just done a digital that I bought earlier (it was the only one available, at £12 - gulp), and it says... 'pregnant'. I am in shock!

I am really quite tempted to buy another Boots pink test tomorrow though so I can have a line to analyse... The digital test is way too definite!

eastendywendy · 19/06/2012 22:50

Yep browny discharge and a wee bit pinky too.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 19/06/2012 21:42

Could be a breakthrough bleed or just old blood from implantation! Either way, a line is a line as others have said. Congrats and good luck Smile

woody17 · 19/06/2012 21:30

Thanks - I really hope so. Did anyone experience the discharge?

Well, a line is a line is a line!

Good luck!

Killergerbil · 19/06/2012 21:07

My faint line 3 days after af was due is 3 and a half now and currently fast asleep. Good luck xx

cece · 19/06/2012 20:59

My very faint line is upstairs asleep at the moment. Even 3 weeks after my af was due I was getting very faint lines. I gave up at that point and got a digital one...

woody17 · 19/06/2012 20:54

Well I have done another test - this time with pink/red dye (first response) and I have got a faint line and it isn't as faint as one the one yesterday. So I don't know what to think as it is faint... And I have had some browny discharge today (sorry if that is TMI!). Posypoo have you tried again?

BartletForAmerica · 19/06/2012 09:51

Titanium beat me to it. I've had very faint possible positives with blue tests (as well as a very positive one with DS) that have come to nothing so I'm also a bit wary of them. I'd try again in a day or two with a First Response (they have pink dyr).

posypoo · 19/06/2012 09:49

Ooh Woody that's exciting that you have got another. I haven't tested again as I only bought a two pack (was neg on Sunday). I swore I would only do two but I'm too confused by the (very very very, just to remind myself!) faint positive so I think I'll buy another set later too.

woody17 · 19/06/2012 09:25

I really hope so. I'm trying not to let myself believe it until I get a stronger line. I think ill go and buy some different tests tonight.

Good Luck Woody. It sounds highly likely to me. I didn't even get a faint blue line for several days and eventually the faintest of lines, so faint I thought I was imagining it. The rather large bump I am currently sporting would suggest that it was indeed a positive result. Fingers firmly crossed for you.

BBisTitanium · 19/06/2012 07:45

Apparently from MN wisdom blue dye tests arent very reliable, red dye are something to do with colour letching so go for a red dye test where poss. Or a digi if you are feeling flush! Grin

TodaysAGoodDay · 19/06/2012 07:44

My incredibly faint line is now 5 Grin

eastendywendy · 19/06/2012 07:44

I had a very very very very faint line, so feint I didn't see it until I was throwing it away disappointed.

That feint line is now 21 months and wrecking my living room.

woody17 · 19/06/2012 07:41

Well I've done another one this morning and there is still a really faint line appearing but it is incredibly faint. I think I'll just have to wait a few days and try again. Posypoo have you tried again?

OP posts:
wunnybunny · 18/06/2012 22:29

i used the clear blue cross ones and got two false positives so use a pink die test

HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 21:34

Boots make several types of test. I've only had false positives on the blue cross ones posy so I would suggest you test again!

posypoo · 18/06/2012 21:12

I have also had a very very very faint line today, and have been wondering the same thing. Mine was Boots though, but it wasn't a blue cross, the lines were pink, and not a cross. Are there two types of Boots tests?

I think I am not pregnant anyway (I think a line would be showing up properly for me by now), but fingers crossed you are op!
