Hi all, just wondering if anyone can help?
I done opk tests after me period 8th of Feb roughly and they came back positive,me and my partner done the business on the correct days etc then I done another towards the end of the month for 3 consecutive days and came back positive.
Then from the end of the month up until 3 days ago they were coming back negative.
Done a pregnancy test yesterday and thay came back negative.
Then today I thought I would just do another opk test and has come back positive again. Is this normal?? Thanks

pmgkt · 25/06/2012 19:13

whiteandyelloworchid · 20/06/2012 22:03

thanks will it be, might try that next time.

im not always getting a positive all the tie, the first week or so it was negative.
once when i was pg, i asked them to check my ovaries at a scan as i was concerned i may have pcos due to long cycles, but they said they looked fine, plus im not hairy or anything.

bb i think its best to test afetr 14 days really

Hi whiteandyelloworchid

This is taken off an ebay website selling opk's:

"Now the ?average? woman ...will have an LH (the hormone that triggers ovulation) level of between 5-20mIU in her system. When the surge occurs the basal level rises to approximately 50-200mIU and at this level ovulation occurs and the egg is released from the ovary. This means that for most women the 20mIU High ovulation sensitivity tests that we sell are perfect....

We have a lady who is suffering from PCOS and this can sometimes (NOT always) cause the LH level to be consistently at a higher level than "normal". This woman will appear to get a positive result with our 20mIU tests over several days and she is therefore not certain when she is ovulating. In this case we would recommend she purchase the lower sensitivity (30 or even 40mIU) ovulation tests which will better pinpoint the LH surge.

Try the High 20mIU sensitivity ovulation tests and if you find any problems in pinpointing when you are ovulating then try one of the lower sensitivity tests and that should solve the problem :)"

Hope this helps

Hi, been reading avidly. New to this forum. On 4 month of ttc. So many of you really seem to know your stuff!

When is the earliest someone can pregnancy test after ovulation?

Thanks
xx

i was thinking put your tap water in a jar and do a dip test?

I wouldn't splash on fancy digi hpts to start with tbh, they are super pricey and not actually that sensitive and seeing as you still not due AF it might be neg just because it is too early. Superdrug own brand or First response early response are the best according to the ladies on here! nothing with blue dye and stay away from clearblue normal tests as people get false positives!

Mine of information this site :)

whiteandyelloworchid · 20/06/2012 10:39

this is only my first month of ttc properly, and i feel like ive gone crazy already.

im on cycle day 30 now, last month my cycle was 33 day, my period are bit irregular.

how do i do the tap test? i only have one more ov test left, just run the remaning test under the tap?
i have been using these tests since about day 10.
so i know not every single test comes up pos as the first week or so it was coming up negative

yes i was thinking of getting a twin pack of digital tests tonight from tescos, shall i get tescos own brand but the digital ones, or shall i get clearblue?

If the ov tap test is neg maybe invest in a more expensive hpt, if that's neg again then I think I'd book an appointment to discuss is with someone x

wilderumpus · 20/06/2012 09:27

have you tried doing the opk under the tap to check it isn't faulty?!

btw I get me best results around 11am, the aft test is always less strong! Confusing isn't it?! what cycle day are you on now - do you have regular cycles?

good luck!

whiteandyelloworchid · 20/06/2012 08:09

Another strong positive ov Test and neg hpt

OP posts:
whiteandyelloworchid · 19/06/2012 21:40

making me think i might be pg, yet the pg tests are bfn.
only cheap ones though.

pmgkt · 19/06/2012 21:27

keep us posted as it is a proper little mystery

whiteandyelloworchid · 19/06/2012 20:53

still don't know whats goign on mon and tue had a strong positive line with fmu.
tested both days, later in the day, but the test was cominng up lighter.
so the strongest positive is first thing.
when its not supposed to be the most positive.
done three hpt now and they are all bfn.
so no idea whats happening.
will test again tomorrow am.

whiteandyelloworchid · 17/06/2012 17:44

I had a run of 7 positive OPK's this cycle, i tested 2 weeks after my last positive OPK and got a very strong BFP right away.

By my calculations and OV pains i think i ovulated on day 3 of positives - no idea why they kept positive after that but i did have OV pains again on day 5 so maybe i did OV twice?!

On other threads people have suggested that perhaps LH stays high in your system for a few days if fertilisation occurs so maybe OPK's could be a very early sign that you are likley to get pregnant - who know's?! For me anyway it turned out to be a good sign :)
