fan you make me laugh! And laughs are appreciated at the moment, so thank you Grin
mecha sorry you can't share your photos much. It was so lovely to see them. Hadn't thought of there not being time to weigh him - shows how they were giving him the best possible care, of course he had to go in the incubator with minimal delay.
I think you are v brave to be around babies. I really couldn't do it. So glad that your friends are being thoughtful - it does make such a difference doesn't it.

Am watching the cycling until a friend comes round. Hooray for the Olympics to distract us all for a couple of weeks!

fanjodisfunction · 28/07/2012 11:43

mecha I think Cav's going to do it. I can't spread myself thin enough with all these sports, love rowing, swimming, eventing, cycling and gymnastics and they are all on today. So I have decided to watch the cycling for now Torch love the new emoitcon. I'm just too giddy!

Mechavivzilla · 28/07/2012 11:11

I too had a good cry at the opening ceremony! And also at Mohammed Ali :( So sad to see a great man brought so low. I don't think he even knew where he was.

We are flicking between the road racing and the dressage today. Horse and bike mad household! Really have my fingers crossed for Cav today. Go Manx Missile! How about you fan, any tips?

Thank you for saying nice things about my boy. I don't get to show his pictures off much, I think people find them upsetting to look at. I haven't shared any of facebook, because I have a lot of work colleagues and aquantences on there so I tend to self edit rather heavily. But I am so proud of him and I love him! I knew you would understand. Klein he was about 600grammes when he was born. They got him into the incubator so fast they didn't really have time to weigh him so had to estimate.

I have been really brave this week and have been hanging out with two babies born round the same time Dex was. And it has really gotten so much easier. I am beginning to actually rather like them. It helps that they both have kind and considerate Mum's who are wonderful and thoughtful towards me.

Enjoy your days Angel and Green

Love to everyone. xx

Bluetinkerbell · 28/07/2012 10:00

oh fan have you soon our new emoticon Torch Grin

Bluetinkerbell · 28/07/2012 09:50

green I also thought of you and Merryn! x

greengoose · 28/07/2012 09:46

Thanks ladies!

My mum goes home on Monday, and DP is off between now and then, so easier times ahead hopefully... She hasn't even asked to go to Merryns place on the river. I just don't understand. The way I feel about my kids is so totally different. I feel so sad for her that she has gone her whole life without having what I have with them, what a waste. Anyway, today is sunny and glorious and we are going to the seaside, oldest DS has his dressing removed and is allowed in the sea, so that should be fun.
What plans do you lot have this WE, are you getting out in the sun? aNGEL, sounds like your going to have a lovely day! (bit jealous)!

fanjodisfunction · 28/07/2012 07:51

Still can't get over how great that was last night.

So looking forward to todays events, got to go out and get a wedding pressie this morning (going to my friends wedding receptions this evening) and then got to come back and watch the road cycling. You watching it mecha?

AngelGeorgie · 28/07/2012 07:50

blizy · 28/07/2012 01:13

Green- I I too had a wee cry and thought if you and Merryn.

The ceremony was fantastic, I loved it. The cauldron is amazing and I particularly like the meaning behind it, with all the nations coming together. Danny Boyle did the country proud! Sorry for any typos:spelling, I'm struggling to keep my eyes open, and on that note good night ladies. X

fanjodisfunction · 28/07/2012 01:02

I also shed a little tear thought of you and Merryn green.

Amazing show, really enjoyed it, really showed the best of british.

MiaAlexandrasmummy · 28/07/2012 00:53

I also cried. All the photos of loved ones, some just little babies and children...

greengoose · 28/07/2012 00:51

Well, I didn't expect to be sitting crying at the Olympics.... Thanks POPPET, it's nice to know someone else thought of our little girl too. X

KleinePoppet · 27/07/2012 21:49

Just to say green I don't know if you're watching the opening ceremony but when GOSH came up I was in tears and am thinking of you and Merryn x

fanjodisfunction · 27/07/2012 20:17

I know blizy he gets frustrated at travel plans. I might have a look myself for him. But if (we probably will) drive up then I think hes working on the saturday morning, but he might get it off. But he might not be able to get the friday off, so we shall be travelling up saturday morning i think. Its still up in the air. We shall see. He booked this a few months ago then said he wasnt going to go, but then last week he turns round and says he wants to do it now. So means we dont have a lot of time to save the money. Men! Thanks for the offer of a bed for the night, I will keep it in mind. Wink

blizy · 27/07/2012 20:12

Offt, that's a bit of a detour! Was there no flights to Aberdeen, he could have got the bus or train to Inverness?

Bluetinkerbell · 27/07/2012 20:11

fan couldn't you drive up to the Midlands or so on the Friday night? Stay somewhere (we've got a spare bed if I kick DH out and take him back in Wink) and then drive the rest on the Saturday?

fanjodisfunction · 27/07/2012 20:02

blizy I drove back from Skye once in one go, but this is going to be epic. We will be going up there on the saturday staying over night then driving back straight after the marathon on the sunday. Im going to have to take monday off from work. Also DH doesnt drive so its all down to me. Its cheaper than flying though. Can you beleive one of the only flights he could find went to Amsterdam first then to Inverness.

blizy · 27/07/2012 19:55

Fan- wow to the mega drive! You will prob drive past my wee town.

Whatevertheweather · 27/07/2012 19:42

Good weight loss fan. Smile I'm definitely getting back to slimming world after this ones born. Feeling better today though I did a few bits with K this avo and I'm now shattered - think I need to remember not to push it. Still loving ice lollies! K and I made some ribena ones in moulds they are lush!

I can definitely vouch that hospitals are indeed very hot at the moment!!

Bluetinkerbell · 27/07/2012 18:30

fan yes, I remember from having E in November that the hospital was soooo hot... :( If I would have still been in Belgium I would definitely have a home birth or a 1 day hospital stay, but certainly not longer!
I bought a few stretchy dresses :) and I still had some clothes from when I was pregnant with E and I bought a few last year... so I should be ok for now... I did buy a new nursing top in Mothercare the other day as it was half price and I wanted something decent to be able to breastfeed in church later on Wink

fanjodisfunction · 27/07/2012 18:22

august should have said Im a bit out of sync with blizy now due to my miscarriage, Im on CD8 just finished AF have to wait a week now for ov. Hoping the health kick DH is doing (with no beer) will mean a BFP very soon.

fanjodisfunction · 27/07/2012 18:20

august Adam is a great name, and one that has been buzzing round my head for the past few weeks. What a few days you had to go through, was it quite nervy? Well done you though, youve got there youve got your rainbow baby. Much love hun.

blizy my terrors are curled up on the sofa at the moment, they adore my DH and usually go to sleep when hes out, hes just popped out for a run. And then hes playing footie. Hes mad. Hes running the Inverness marathon at the end of September, and after he tried to get a flight from our local airport to Inverness with no luck, I have now said I will drive him there and back. I must be mad its an 11 hour drive!

poppet Im an internationl woman of mystery in the guise of Austin Powers, I too have funky teeth and wear glasses (actually teeth fixed a few years ago) Smile

blue really five days in hospital, she must be going out of her mind. It is too hot in hospitals, I hate them for that. I bet your excited about going home. Hvae you had to go out and buy new clothes to accomodate your increasing bump?

wtw how are you today? Are you feeling better? Have you got enough ice lollies? Im sending you lots of positive vibes that the rest of your pg goes smoothly.

green I go red very quickly in the sun, not good for a gardener really. I wear factor 50! My DH is from Glasgow and has ginger hair but he goes brown more than I do.

Ive lost two pounds this week, but I think I might pop out now and get some chocolate to have while watching the ceremony. Im so excited!

Whatevertheweather · 27/07/2012 18:12

Oh August Adam is a gorgeous name Smile He is utterly adorable bet you are on cloud nine. Cannot wait to be in your position in 2.5 weeks! Poor ds2 though hope he recovers quickly

Green you will get there my lovely, I can now do lovely things with Katie and genuinely enjoy myself with just an odd pang of what should have been. It took a good 6 months to feel like I wasn't just going through the motions though. I distinctly remember sometime around March looking forward to a day out and it being such an alien feeling to be excited but a welcome change. It's like the grief becomes intertwined with your everyday life and becomes easier to live with over time. Big hugs xx

Blue your poor sister Sad It must be hard having a newborn in this heat. Hope he manages to start feeding better xx

Fan I can't wait for the opening ceremony Smile Wish it was on a bit earlier though!

Love to all xx

Bluetinkerbell · 27/07/2012 18:03

Oh yes forgot to mention that the FB group is secret, so nobody of your friends can see what you post in it, unless they are also in the group Wink But it is safer than MN as nobody can see what you post! :)

KleinePoppet · 27/07/2012 17:21

August no we've not properly 'met' till now but I am so thrilled for you and your family! Wonderful news. I know there will always be a gap in your family and your heart but so glad for your little boy's safe arrival. xx

Blue hope v much that things improve for your sister and nephew asap.
Thanks for info re FB. Have come off it for now.

blizy I cried at some shop music just yesterday, some terrible song that was all about death was playing while I wandered round...
