So step aboard ladies and join me for a hunt for the golden egg.

AF expected tomorrow. Think she will be paying me a visit as tummy feels sore and bloated. Crap :(
However, I have got myself a bottle of wine in and will have a large glass tomorrow night if when she shows!

Wiggy29 · 12/06/2012 19:32

Ah Pipbin- sending hugs your way.

Crazy- glad you got a peak and dp was eager to get jiggy with it!

Regarding potty training- ds didn't like the potty but I got him a little step and one of those padded seats that you pop over the toilet and he was more then happy to use that. That said, only for a number one. For a number two, he liked to poop in his pants because it felt (shudder) 'warm and nice'. He use to sneak off behind arm of sofa which was a give away. That habit took ages to break and in the end I was buying cheapo pants from Primarc and chucking them out if he pooped in them as it worked ou t cheaper than nappies!

Nothing to report here, day 27, still holding out on testing. Less stressed as distracted by work but keep feeling the urge to test... the thought of getting a negative is stopping me. Don't think this is my month at all as skin is a giant grease pit but you never know... Smile

Pipbin · 12/06/2012 12:48

Oh for heavens sake. Opks now showing no line at all. Temp fell loads this morning. And EWCM shown up again.
Fed up now. Can't be bothered to SWI anymore.

Charts here for stalkers.

Ah dilly my DS is exactly the same. It's really stressful! Even worse when all the other kids seem happy as larry in pushchairs and you're carting a screaming, hair pulling, angry pint sized person. Hope today is a better day.

Seems like a few of us are ovulating similar times....

Dillydollydaydream · 12/06/2012 11:08

Ah Treats the click and collect sounds good, hadn't thought of that.
I used to order quite a bit From Next but havent used them for ages, really not keen on any of their stuff at the moment, it's just... bleurgh!
Does sound like a strange one for you this month with the spotting etc. earlier on in your cycle.

My AF is due tomorrow. I am hoping she won't arrive but feeling like she will :(

Treats · 12/06/2012 10:55

Sympathy dilly - DD is just the same..... Or if she is in a good mood, she's haring off all over the shop so that I have to spend all my time supervising her instead of having a look at things. Online shopping is the way forward - except if you want to return something - cue long wait at the post office........ Click and collect from John Lewis is pretty good though. I can browse and pay online, collect it from the store and try it on then and there or a few days later, and then take it back to the store for a refund.

CD23 here and I think I may have finally ov'd yesterday. I didn't bother with temps over the weekend (lots of drinking and some VERY late nights as my show came to an end) but yesterday's was still very low. Today's was higher (although not high by any means) and I haven't had any EWCM so far today. It's been a deeply weird cycle - I could absolutely have sworn I was ov'ing on CD14 - I had spotting and pain and everything - but my temps have stayed low. I'll try not to be disappointed if we're not successful this month - there's been so much going on.

Dillydollydaydream · 12/06/2012 09:51

Hmm well the shopping trip was a disaster!
Came home without any new clothes. Ds (2.9) was a little bugger Angry
Didn't take buggy as he usually walks but he decided that actually, no, he did not want to walk and laid on the floor saying, "no, no, no, Nooooo"
He just would not stand up! Argh! Blush
I quickly managed to pop into boots for vitamins and sanitary stuff (just incase) and came home. Online shopping it is then!

Days like yesterday make me question Why I want to do it all again!?

Hope everyone else's day was better.

Leftwingharpie · 12/06/2012 08:45

Squirrel just start checking it daily and recording whether you think it is high medium or low, firm medium or soft, and open medium or closed. It will just be a total guess at first but give it a few months and you'll be narrowing it down to the millimetre without a thought!

SilentMammoth · 12/06/2012 08:29

Is that good crazy? Sounds very confusing!

Pip I know exactly what you mean! Cd 14? I can't possibly be ovulating because that is just a myth!! Clearly we are both tcoyf doyennes (although I do realise ashe never says that!!)

Wiggy how are you doing?

Lll are you feeling ok?

Pip does your temp zoom up ord does it "staircase" up? Mine trends to zoom which I do find helpful (I like stuff idiot proof).

Cd 14 here, not sure if of got opk pos last night, if not out was very nearly so am going to test twice today and have brought opk to work! Just in time actually as dh unexpectedly on exercises from tomorrow do hopefully we will have fitted enough swi ing in.

Squirrel in terms of checking cp, yes, that is pretty much it! Although as I think I said earlier it's not the easiest sign to master,.ime out had been worth it. I did find that it took three months of checking every day thorough cycle to become familiar and confident in recognising changes. And as I said before, an sort of having to learn all over again with altered cervix after having another baby.

I do find charting so empowering. I love the confidence it gives me in my body and personally of find that it makes me think, wow, how amazing God is to make all these discernible tiny changes, it's all to low tech (digital thermometer aside!!)

Have a good day everyone!

Crazytictac · 12/06/2012 08:06

Weird, got peak reading this am after low reading yesterday. Irrationally excited. Have informed Mr Crazy that that marital duties are required. Typically he offered to start immediately on being told :). Tonight will be fine!

Pipbin · 11/06/2012 20:58

Yes Crazy, I'm sure his cycle follows mine, as I get to OV day, he gets poorly.

Out of curiosity I put in similar temps for the next two days of fertility friend, which would put ov on CD13.

I guess we just need to keep at it and see what happens with the temps.

Crazytictac · 11/06/2012 20:25

Thanks purple that was really interesting to read. I've just got to catch him in the act I think and it will click..... We went out for longer than expected so will try agin later in the week.

pipbin oooohh, an almost textbook cycle. Mad how cycles can vary so much. Good luck! Hope your DH gets better so that you're in good stead for the next few days too. Am I right in thinking he wasn't very well last month too? A true trooper!

lbot hope you have an erm fruitful night and that your DH was fine. TTC can really take the romance out of things ironically.

Pipbin · 11/06/2012 18:01

Heaven knows what is happening here. EWCM seems to have stopped, a very dark but not quite positive opk and a slight temp rise.
All seems to point to ov but it's cd14 and no one actually ovs on cd14.
Moreover my earliest ever has been CD18.

Poor old DH. He was feeling proper poorly last night but he still did what was required.

LimeLeafLizard · 11/06/2012 13:58

Wiggy, well done for holding out -you know it makes sense! FX for you.

Dilly enjoy your shopping, I am hoping to go myself on Weds.

Flying /Purple sorry you have the big birthday blues approaching. If it helps at all, I know lots of women who've had babies over 40. However, I know what you mean about wanting to put a timeline on ttc... it is so stressful. Still, a bfp can come along and surprise you!

lastbox, don't be lonely, we're here! Have fun with DH tonight!

Not much to report here. Tirednes isn't quite as extreme... no other symptoms and I am starting to wonder if I've imagined the whole thing.

lastboxoftampons · 11/06/2012 12:30

Hi everyone.

Only one in the office again today, but for a brief flying visit from a colleague. It's nice but getting a little lonely Hmm and whoever asked, yes DS is settling in very well at nursery! Smile

Flying sorry AF is here but glad it's a bit more normal now.

Dilly good luck with your shop! There's nothing more frustrating than making time to go out, arranging child care etc and then finding NOTHING you like in the shops!

Wiggy good girl for holding out Grin

I've gotten a peak reading on the cbfm This morning but also strangely had a temp jump. Hmm maybe just a fluke. Anyway, DH has been so busy with work, coming home late and bringing more work with him, so I just sent him an apologetic text telling him tonight's the night and I think he was a bit offended as he sent me one back saying I shouldn't act like it's a hassle. Can't tell if he was just joking or not so aven't texted him back. Yeesh this TTC thing is so stressful on so many levels!

Purpledragon · 11/06/2012 10:07

crazy I had the impression that if I waited for my boy to be interested I would wait years! He was never uncomfortable peeing and pooing in his nappy, never told me that he needed to be changed or any of that. I put him in underwear (only) and stalked him religiously for two days. The problem with this method is it takes religious stalking. I never asked him if he wanted to go (which I figured he wouldn't have understood anyway), I caught him in the act and ran him to the loo to finish there and told him he was a massive hero when the last bit went in. Every 10 mins I said 'remember when you need to go tell me' (its a little different from asking if they want to go) in the middle of day one he began hopping about and looking at me. A while longer (3 or 4 days) before saying anything. He was only 22 months and perhaps it works better with the little ones. He still at 2.8 does half a wee in his pants once in a while if he is 'busy' (yep, still doesn't care) but he knows want to do and that he should be doing it. IMO it was worth the effort and he was out of nappies long before any of his friends. I will do the same thing again...if there is a number two!
Good luck and waves to all...

Crazytictac · 11/06/2012 09:34

Thanks for the advice re.potty training ladies. purple what approach did you take? Had such a busy weekend we didn't get the potty out but he will tell me as soon as he's done a big job so going to recommence again this afternoon!

flying glad your AF is more normal now. I think sometimes anything out of the ordinary can be a bit unsettling. Hopefully the smear test will be fine and provide some reassurance. Bodies eh!

wiggy glad you're feeling a bit better. Admire your will power holding out. Although there is nothing more frustrating than testing, getting a negative and doubting it anyway. keeping everything crossed for you.

dilly ooh am jealous of the retail therapy! Let us know what you get. Will you wait for AF hopefully not to show up and be late before you test? Fingers crossed for you too.

lime hope the tiredness is not too overwhelming!

I'm clear day 18 and still get lowing readings on fertility monitor so think I'm in for a long cycle :(. More wine though i guess....

Purpledragon · 11/06/2012 08:27

It really is flying It has though kind of 'inspired' me to revisit the whole TTC thing with a bit more seriousness in a bizarre race to 40. If that will prove fruitful is improbable in my case but stranger things have happened. My theory is even if it doesn't work out I will know that I have tried. You will find the energy, when you have to, you do, right.

Flyingwithoutwings · 11/06/2012 08:18

Purple it's a horrid birthday really, it pops you into the "a baby at 40?!!" bracket... I keep thinking at how tired I was at having DS at 35 and 11 months and wonder if I could cope Hmm

Flyingwithoutwings · 11/06/2012 08:15

Ahh, AF is finally getting heavy, that's a relief... Was starting to wonder if I was going through early menopause Blush

Will go to GP later in the week but will
Ring this afternoon to ask about a smear. I probably have had one but I can't remember at all!!!

Purpledragon · 11/06/2012 05:24

flying I know what you mean about a cut off date, I'm a few months older than you and I've been thinking that way. As it gets closer though, I'm not so sure.

Also the smear thing, Im thinking I should get that done and perhaps off load in the medical world re TTC too, though this is something I, in general, avoid for fear of being laughed at or bad news

crazy how is the potty training? My experience was a bit different from Treats and lastbox* (def not child-led, worked though).

Flyingwithoutwings · 10/06/2012 23:26

Sorry for the lack of personals, DS has been getting up late Grin but, consequently, going to bed late Sad

AF is misbehaving, she's very light and fairly painless.. Confused
Have no suspicion of being pg, but I don't think all is well.
As I have endometriosis I shall have to see the GP. The previous 2 periods were horrifically painful.

Onto other things: I'm watching a programme about cervical cancer and it's made me think... I can't recall having a smear since DS was born 3.5 yrs ago. My previous ones were every 3 years, so it's at least 4.3 years since I had one. Anyone know if they wait longer once you've had a child?

Anyway, I think I'm going to see GP this week... I'm not content with AF at all.

I'm not plotting my cycle, relying on nature / fate and OPK only. I'm trying to be easy going about having a second child. I'll be older 40 in December so that's my cut off date for trying...

Waves to everyone. Sorry for the "all about me" posts Blush

Dillydollydaydream · 10/06/2012 23:18

It is quiet isn't it?
Kids back to school tomorrow, hurrah! Will be so quiet without dc. Planning a little retail therapy, haven't been during half term as dc get bored and I always come home empty handed!
Cd 26 now. Have no tests so poas here.
I'm feeling crampy and have awful mood swings so I don't think I'll bother buying a test just incase.
wiggy good luck for when you do test.

Wiggy29 · 10/06/2012 23:11

Wow, the thread has been quiet this w/end. Are you all frantically enjoying the last day of half term? I was super tempted to poas tonight: my first cycle post pill
Was 31 days&2nd was 36 so in theory could be due from tomorrow to Sunday. That said, I know I ovulated on 3rd this month so only 7 days past ov. In the end I talked myself out of it because I thought that if it was a negative I wouldn't fully believe it anyway as may be too early to test. Doubt I'll last till sun (unless af ruins things&turns up) but want to make it till at least thur ngt so I trust the result. To be honest, I don't feel like this is my month, purely because skin already building up that lovely greasy layer I get from about 1 week before af arrives. You never know though... Smile

Wiggy29 · 10/06/2012 09:59

Gym, not gum.
