So step aboard ladies and join me for a hunt for the golden egg.

Bfn over here but feel ok as was totally expected.hopefully next month more fruitful. Hmm

Pipbin · 14/06/2012 21:01

Still waiting on OV here. Poor old DH is still plugging away bless him.
OPK still negative and not getting any darker. Still getting a fair amount of EWCM. It's CD17 and my average OV day is CD20, but the last two have been CD18

Squirrel sorry AF got you.

On CM - the month we conceived, I had hardly any EWCM, and that was about 4 days before I ovulated. Hope this gives you some encouragement.

Treats · 14/06/2012 09:24

Hi there - sorry I've not been around much recently but glad you're all still here.

Wiggy - I agree that the cbfm seems like a really good option for you. I'm seriously considering it for next month as it seems to rationalise all the other things I'm doing into one activity. Fx that it's the only month you'll need it can I have it when you've finished Grin

Squirrel - sorry that AF got you but I hope you have a wonderful holiday. DH and I are going away in a few weeks - our first proper holiday since losing DS - and I'm hoping it will mean a real opportunity to relax, to spend time together and hopefully get over the last few months. And hopefully put us in a better place for ttc.

FF tells me that I ov'd on Monday, which is what I thought. Thankfully - despite all the disruption - we managed to DTD on Sunday evening, so I'm not totally out this month. Still got low temps though, so not feeling very optimistic.

Crazytictac · 14/06/2012 07:26

Oh lbot did say in my original post that spotting might very well be a consequence of all the extra DTD ing. Prob nothing to worry about but for peace of mind I would mention it to your GP

Wiggy29 · 13/06/2012 23:10

Lastbox- doh! I'm still a bit new to this so not so sure about all that stuff? Was the blood bright red like fresh blood or darker? Have you had any more? Is it possible it may be a little tear (TMI- I've had to lecture DP in past about keeping edges of finger nails smooth).

Lime- 7 weeks till scan time, hopefully it'll be here before you know it! It'll all seem real then Grin

Pipbin- I wasn't at all offended, more curious. I hadn't even heard of cbfm until my friend who was ttc for ages (over 30 months) told me that she fell really quickly after she got one (I think it was 3 or 4 months, her husband has low oo, sperm count too). I was just wondering if women who use them had a certain reputation. I'm a bit time stressed because of all my medical problems but I think if anything having to interpret opk/ temp/ chart seems much more stressful as requires far more attention and guesswork. On the cost side of things, it's not cheap but for me, if someone said 'Give me £500 and you'll get pregnant quicker' I'd happily dish it out if it was backed by proper research etc. But as I said, we have reason to hurry. Also, I find we dtd when we want to much more as only two peak days a month so even though there's a better chance if you do it on high days too, we just make sure we do it on the peak days and then suit ourselves the rest of the time which, I feel, makes it more spontaneous. Obviously depends on your hurry/ circumstances but it works for us.

Crazy- Give them a ring! It's getting value for money and peace of mind if nothing else. I had to poas from day 5-25 so I had to poas on peak day and for about 5 days after. Only my first cycle on it so no idea what next month holds.

Squirrel- yay! to holiday and booooo! to af, I assume from your post it will be gone by the time you're on your jollies? That is rubbish about the hospital, grrr to NHS at times. I hope for you you fall before then as I know loads of people say that happens... I truly hope you're one of those.

Feeling a bit zen here: totally aware period is coming (if I were a betting lady I'd say tomorrow morning), but because I've had a week of symptoms I feel somehow mentally prepared. Feel like it's nature letting me down gently rather than the harsh brutality of a bfn. I know I dtd at the right times this cycle so what else can you do? Hey hum and onwards to the next one. A bit sad as thought had wonderful it would be to tell dp on father's day but it's just not our month.

Hope you guys are all well Smile

Squirrel77 · 13/06/2012 22:32

Hello everyone!

I have come down from my tree(!) to say hi.

Hope everyone is keeping sane. My evil Aunt Flo' arrived early which has bummed me out as my cycles are all over the place. But it has been great having a drink again...

I went to see the fertility clinic at the hospital yesterday. The Dr said we have to 'keep trying' until October before getting fertility treatment, even though they know I have something wrong with me (low estrogen). The Dr even said that in October they would give me estrogen therapy, so I wonder why they won't fix the problem now, as I am about to turn 35, when fertility is supposed to nosedive. I am feeling a bit cross...sorry for the rant.

But - I am excited as soon Mr S and I will be going abroad on holiday and I have a premonition that being away from it all will help us finally conceive. Have just ordered some Maca capsules to add to the vitamin arsenal as well...

Crazytictac · 13/06/2012 21:28

Ps, lime meant to ask why you're nervous of telling people (presumably a bit later down the line). I hope you get positive reactions that your wonderful news deserves.

Crazytictac · 13/06/2012 21:20

Argh! Wrote a long message and went to post it but flaming MN decided it was offline for an upgrade so it was lost Angry

Take 2.

limeleaf lovely to see you. Thanks for the drinks! I'll have your share of the Wine :).

wiggy thanks, did contemplate calling the helpline today but am bit scared they might say the machine, or even me, is duff as not a peep of cm. I will give them a call though. Did your machine ask you to do a test the day after you got a peak reading? I'm getting myself confused now as can't remember being asked to do this on previous months. I thought it was an automatic peak on the 2nd day. I am easily confused though. Hope the junk food is satisfying a craving! Know I've already said, but really hope AF stays away for you

lbot I know! I thought the same too but apparently you are not supposed to use different sticks from different boxes. The Faqs covers this and the low to peak issue. Will see what the nice helpline lady says tomorrow. Glad your DS is dealing with the pox ok. Bless him. Better to have it out of the way when they're young though I would imagine. Impressive DTD ing btw Wink

silent sounds like you have a good chance to me! Hope your DC are ok too. Can't be easy to muli task unwell children, long commute and trying to make another little human. Kudos to you!

dilly any news from AF? Hope you're ok.

Waves to rest of the ladies.

Pipbin · 13/06/2012 20:05

Wiggy I didn't mean to offend anyone.
Before I was TTCing I would see others who were TTCing and temping, DTD on demand etc and swore I would never be like that.
However, I now am like that because I'm temping, charting and peeing on all sorts of stuff.
I'm just cautious about spending more money on it I guess. And I don't want to to be any more all consuming than it is.

OPK getting darker again. Still managing to DTD last night but neither of our hearts were in it.

OP posts:
LimeLeafLizard · 13/06/2012 18:56

5 weeks today... still haven't told anyone other than DH and aforementioned good friend. I am all too aware that things can easily go wrong at this stage, and I am enjoying just quietly thinking about it. I am a bit nervous about how people will react, too. I feel fine atm... plenty of time for that to change though.

Grin at 'sympathy itchiness'... I've had that! Also I feel itchy when I see insects e.g. ants.

lastboxoftampons · 13/06/2012 18:00

Thanks guys - he's nearly three and everyone around us has had it lately so no surprise really. He still running around like a mad thing - had a fever yesterday but it seems to have leveled off. I think I'm having sympathy itchiness Hmm but I've already had it so no worries here.

LIme lovely to see you! How are you feeling? How many weeks now?

Silent DS was conceived from GOF morning of the day before I ov'd! Good luck!

Wigg thanks for excitement but implantation spotting is usually 7-10 dpo, I'm only 1dpo. Possibly ovulation spotting tho I don't think so. Hoping your AF stays away, fx!

Wiggy29 · 13/06/2012 17:07

Pipbin- 'one of those type of women'. I'm curious, what type is that? Hmm

Dilly- we can be Saturday test buddies if no sign of af but, like you, I feel it's imminent. Cant'. Stop. Eating. Junk.

Crazy- why don't you ring the helpline and ask? I've not rang but heard on here that they're great. My friend was confused as to why it didn't ask her to test one day when she was sure it would so she used another (none machine based) opk and got a negative.

Lastbox- oh no about DS! I suppose they say it's best to have it young. I don't know much about when it happens but I gather from MN that some people get a bit of implantation spotting? Sounds pretty exciting Grin

Silent- if you dtd Monday hopefully you'll still be the race this month as I gather best time is 48 hours before ovulation? Also, sorry to hear you have poorly children too Sad

Lime- hello my dear, lovely to still have you hear to offer Brew and sympathy.

I'm off to eat some more to feed my insatiable pre af hunger.

SilentMammoth · 13/06/2012 16:50

Are you feeling ok though lll?

LimeLeafLizard · 13/06/2012 16:49

Mammoth I thought the most fertile day was the one before OV - so yes, still a good chance. That slapped cheek thing is horrid too. 5 hour round trip sounds exhausting!

LimeLeafLizard · 13/06/2012 16:47

Hello,

Just stopping by to see how everyone is... time to pass cups of Brew all round, I think. And Wine this evening (I'm missing that! Blush).

Good luck to all those SWI. Thinking of you.

Wiggy and Dilly, hope your AF stays away.

lastbox hope your DS is better soon, it is such a pain having to keep them away from other children.

Not much happening here, still doesn't feel real.

SilentMammoth · 13/06/2012 16:44

Oh dear last box! How old is he? My one year old got it in jan and we ended up on hospital as she is just not very good with temps. Do hope he gets better soon.

My four currently have slapped cheek but getting better which is a relief as work is a bit busy this week. I've been driving a five hour round trip to head office mon and tues so really couldn't face swi last night which typically was ov dayas temp rose
This am. Still, did swi sun and mon so hopefully still in with a chance? What do you all think?

lastboxoftampons · 13/06/2012 14:01

Pip - had a look at your chart and don't think you've ov'd yet. As for the returning Ewcm - could it be residual semen? I find it hard to tell the difference, especially when using something like conceive plus or preseed.

I second the cbfm. I know, I hesitated too but I am finding it really interesting especially since my temps seem weird lately. I plugged my temp in this morning and ff says I ov'd on cd14, making me 3dpo but just had a peak reading on cd15 & cd16. I'm glad we kept on DTD, I might've let it slide if I was just temping.

Dilly sorry about your shop :( I know what you mean about wanting another so badly. Are we mad Grin sorry you're feeling down as well :( it's so hard when the months seem to be flying by. I can't believe it's been 5 months since we started, I have no idea where it's gone.

Crazy I can't imagine there's that much difference from pack to pack. Did you google low to peak? I would just keep swi! Good luck!

Well we've just finished shag week - ov'd yesterday. We managed to swi more this cycle than pretty much any other so fingers crossed. We just DTD three nights in a row - I don't remember when the last time we did that was! But, possible consequence? I have some spotting today and I wonder if it's an irritated cervix or something? Thoughts?

In other news, DS has the chicken pox :( had to stay home with him today. But he seems to be taking it well so far but spots just appeared today.

Crazytictac · 13/06/2012 12:43

wiggy your story of your DS disappearing behind the sofa made me laugh. They're such funny little things.

dilly sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down. I can totally relate to how you feel. I've got early August in my mind by where I'm desperate to get pg by as that would have been the time I should have had DC2 had it not been for the chemical pregnancy. Nothing is happening though and it's frustrating as hell. I know it must be worse for you being that much further along. The chances are though that you will get pg and your lovely baby will help take away a bit of the horribleness of your mc. Hugs to you.

I'm all in a muddle after yesterday as read the instructions again as bit confused as to why my readings went from low to peak. It says you need to use the same lot of sticks but I started a new batch yest so not sure now how accurate it will be after all. EWCM is missing in action as usual so Confused.

Hi to everyone else

Dillydollydaydream · 13/06/2012 12:13

No AF yet. She used to arrive in the am but this is only 2nd cycle since mc so who knows!? Got dull ache and bloated tummy so won't be long I think :( if by some miracle she doesn't arrive I think I'll wait til Saturday to test to allow her a few more days!

Feel really down about ttc. I stopped the pill last July/Aug and its really disheartening :( don't think I'm over the mc yet but just want to conceive again so badly so I've got something good to focus on.

Sorry for waffling. Hope everyone else is ok?

Pipbin · 13/06/2012 09:54

I'm just so glad that I am temping and not just relying on OPKs. If I was then I might have taken the 'nearly dark enough to be positive' as a me having missed the surge and stopped SWIing.

I'm reluctant to get the CBFM as I always swore I wouldn't be one of those women who does stuff like that.
I'm going to give it another couple of cycles and then see about it.

OP posts:
Wiggy29 · 13/06/2012 07:45

Pipbin- I'm not on commission for them (honest), but cbfm makes it clear so may be worth the investment if it takes away some of the stress for you? Sending you a Brew

Tierd, hungry&spotty here so expecting af soon Sad

Pipbin · 12/06/2012 23:04

Thanks Silent I have been using conceive plus this week and I wonder if that has made a difference to my EWCM. I'm fairly sure I'm going to OV in the next day or so. The thing is that I normally fade in then out on OPKs and post ov OPKs have no line on at all. And right now I'm getting no line.
I just wish there was a magic way of telling what was going on for sure.

OP posts:
Wiggy29 · 12/06/2012 21:46

Oh Dilly! That's rubbish, you never know though, af symptoms Sooo like pregnancy it's just cruel. I think you've done unbelievably well to get this far&not test. Sending giant hugs. Does af normally arrive in the morning (only asking as mine usually does).

Hi everyone else! Grin

SilentMammoth · 12/06/2012 21:40

Sorry pip wrote really long post which mn promptly lost! Basically it looks pre ov to be what so you think? The ewcm issue is confusing I agree. Have you done another opk yet? Try not to lose heart.
