Ho hum, out for this month Sad see you in july!

blackcatsdancing · 26/06/2012 17:32

i've not read that 1:1 ratio thing
p.s mine were done day 2

blackcatsdancing · 26/06/2012 17:31

p.s the normal range i quote was for the clinic my Gp use, the ranges will vary from place to place.

blackcatsdancing · 26/06/2012 17:28

i missed the restoration programmes, sounds good. wonder if its still on catch up?? I often do have an orgasm but not crucial to me . In fact for me i find focusing on it can start to cause problems with achieving it . I'm very good at taking one when i need to though! Luckily my preferred position for that is also very good for DP!!

lastbox i'm not sure where you got that info from? My LH was 4.6 (normal range 2.4-13) and FSH 9.2 (normal range 3.5-13). I spoke to Gp and she said all was fine and also did my own research which showed all was fine- FSH bit high but i'm older so is to be expected.

Hi - we're going away on Saturday. Just a few more days at work.......

I heard that about orgasm as well - and that piece on the restoration programme. I can't help but feel that we should make orgasm a goal of all sexual intercourse - ttc or not - and even if it doesn't improve our chances, it certainly improves our enjoyment.......

lbot - have you had your results today and have another appointment to discuss them? I can understand how you're feeling - sometimes you just want a diagnosis and then a course of treatment to 'fix' it. Finding out that there's nothing really wrong doesn't take you forward. Are you going to talk to the nurse about what causes your spotting?

Silent - lbot makes a good point. Your schedule will work if your DH has good swimmers, but if he's below par in any way then DTD every day might not work in your favour. You might be better off with every other day.

lastboxoftampons · 26/06/2012 15:58

I was watching that bbc4 series on women in the restoration period a few weeks ago and they said that people believed that orgasm was necessary for conception, so there was a lot of emphasis on making sure the woman climaxed! Apparently sex was very good for restoration women!

Have had my test results today and all looks normal, though my lh looks a bit low according to my research. It was 1.3 on cd4 and FSH was 5.7. The ratio should be closer to 1:1. Though am sure nurse will poo-poo that ifi bring it up on Thursday. Ho hum. Wonder what's really wrong with me then? Hmm

Squirrel - good luck tonight! :)

Treats and LLL - that thought which shall not be mentioned also crossed my mind not this past month but the one before.

Silent - your 'schedule' sounds good. Though I think I favor 9, 11, 13, 14 & 15. But I always worry about sperm counts not being optimal with too frequent action. Plus I get tired!

Squirrel77 · 26/06/2012 15:51

Well, 9 months into this TTC lark and I'll try almost anything! Blush

Will report back in approximately 14 days time to let you know the results of my scientific study...Wink

blackcatsdancing · 26/06/2012 15:27

squirrel completely unnecessary. It would be a major evolutionary flaw if that were necessary!! I'm actually far less likely to have an O when its the best time to conceive as i'm more worried about ensuring DP does and that as much as possible stays inside afterwards! Having an Orgasm and feeling horny don't always follow hand in hand for me. I definitely want more sex mid cycle.

Pipbin · 26/06/2012 13:02

Squirrel I remember seeing that as a film about 15 years ago.
However plenty of women have got pg without 'arriving'.

Squirrel77 · 26/06/2012 09:54

Hi Silent - I would go with that schedule. Apparently if your man's sperm count is normal, it's fine to do it every day.

I got a + OPK yesterday so the action has begun in earnest.

Has anyone else heard of/abiding by the theory that the woman should, ahem, come after the man so the cervix dips in and out of the pool of sperm and sucks them into the uterus?? It's from the book 'The Science of Orgasm' which you can read on Google books...

Gosh, the amount of weird trivia I heave learned over the past nine months is astounding!

LimeLeafLizard · 25/06/2012 22:37

Treats, I had exactly what you describe for a couple of cycles when we were ttc. I.e. Longer LP, heavier than normal AF, and also 'implantation pain'. The same thought occured to me - that fertilisation could be happening, but not implantation.

Also, we only DTD every other day the month we conceived.

HTH. I am thinking of you all, wishing you the best.

SilentMammoth · 25/06/2012 21:43

When is your holiday Treates? It must be soon?

Guys, I am about to do a separate thread about this but wanted your opinions too; if I normally ov CD14, was planning to DTD CD 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15. Would you add/alter days at all do you think?

Treats · 25/06/2012 20:34

Can't do anything to lift the general gloom, I'm afraid. Just to update you - I continued to just have spotting all day Saturday and made up my mind I would test on Sunday. However, the bleeding was fairly positively AF by then and has been very heavy ever since.

Still, I got all the upset out of the way on Thursday and Friday, so feeling OK now. It was always going to be an unlikely cycle for me, with so many things on. However, it was a funny one. I had a late ov - according to FF, although I wonder if I actually ov'd on the same day as usual - but even with that, my LP was about 3 days longer than normal. I actually wonder if we were successful in introducing a sperm to an egg this month but it failed to implant. It would explain the spotting and the heavy period and the longer LP.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it - I find it encouraging.

I've decided to stop temping for at least the next cycle. It just makes me anxious. At the end of the day, we know what we need to do and I can still keep an eye on my EWCM. Both DH and I have been so busy recently that we've had our minds on other things. I'd like to use our holiday as a way of 'reconnecting' and I've decided that we're just going to have sex every other day from now until further notice Wink. Hopefully we'll both just feel more relaxed and more 'together' - and even if it doesn't help the ttc, it should help us.

lbot - I know you're right about appreciating what we have. I was looking at DD today thinking that very thing. I wish I knew for definite whether I was going to have another one or not. That way I could come to terms once and for all with the not having another one and get on and enjoy everything that's wonderful about my life.

SilentMammoth · 25/06/2012 19:45

Sounds good to me.much better if I conceive this cycle anyway as have loads more clothes for that time of year as dd 1and 3 are april and may!

Pipbin · 25/06/2012 18:13

You can still stay on this thread though Silent no need to jump ship. If you got lucky this next cycle you would due 1st of April, still easter in my book.

Hi everyone! Sorry about my absence of late. Been working very long hours for the past few weeks. It's difficult to keep track of all that has happened, but I gather a few of you are feeling blue. I am sorry to hear that.

I accidentally got drunk last night and had a smear test booked for 8:30 this morning. For the record, I do NOT recommend getting one done when you are --still drunk seriously hung over. Eeeekk. Shock Now drinking Lucozade and eating dry toast...

LimeLeafLizard · 25/06/2012 14:04
