Well the witch has caught up with me at last. So I have decided its time to start a new thread as I think our christmas reindeer need a rest.
So step aboard ladies and join me for a hunt for the golden egg.

Ha ha ha! I'm going to POAS behind a bush this month. Just because.....

CD18 and still no EWCM. In fact, no CM of any kind whatsoever, which is really unusual. Very very frustrating. Not stopping DH and I though. We are sticking to our timetable of DTD every other day in a relaxed and enjoyable fashion. No temping, no OPKs no stressing out about ov.

Pipbin · 10/07/2012 21:16

We should do that. Who can POAS in the most extreme place?

OP posts:
SilentMammoth · 10/07/2012 19:31

Kind of makes my poas at work look positively pedestrian! Love extreme poas ing!

Leftwingharpie · 10/07/2012 17:46

I love the idea of POAS on a plane. More people should do extreme testing! Grin

SilentMammoth · 10/07/2012 17:14

Have a great time!!! Just poas on a plane no problem there Grin

Cd 16 still no temp rise and dh off on exercises now til weekend argh!.

Squirrel77 · 10/07/2012 07:38

Hello all (especially the pregnant lurkers!)

I'm about to head off to the other side of the world for two and a half weeks (work then holiday).

I'm 13 DPO and BFN, but no sign of AF, due today. Obsessively looking at FF charts and it seems there are over 1000 with negative HPT then positive on 14 DPO so I retain some hope. Is it really seedy to POAS on a plane?!

Wish AF would show up just so I know what's happening and so I can pop a valium and a couple of whiskeys on the plane. I'm hopeful that a couple of weeks in the sun will be just what we need, but the next ovulation date is predicted for our flight home Grin I have worded up Mr S that we may need to join the mile high club. He is trying to get used to the idea...

Won't be online much for the next little while so best wishes to everyone!

Hi Lime I'm still lurking again. I'm like a ghost hanging around that doesn't know it's time to move on! When you've been posting in Conception for three years you just click on it automatically when you log on.

It's so busy on the antenatal threads and they move so fast. Envious of your 8+5 I am 7 today.

How's everyone getting on? I'm willing you all on to your BFPs.

Treats · 09/07/2012 22:52

Thanks Lime - that's reassuring. It's just so unusual for me. Most months I get loads and it starts a good week or so before ov. 8+5 - wow! Doesn't the time go fast? You'll be having your first scan soon - do you have an appointment yet?

LimeLeafLizard · 09/07/2012 22:49

Hello Smile

I'm OK, still not really got any symptoms (except I've gone off chocolate, which is very unlike me) and it all feels a bit unreal, sometimes I wonder if I'm imagining it.
I've only told a couple of people in RL and so I don't talk about it much, there doesn't seem much to do or think about. Just FX it all looks good at the first scan, which is at the start of August (I am 8+5 today).

Believe me I wish babies were contagious and I could infect you all!

Treats fwiw I hardly got any EWCM the month we conceived so my advice is just to keep up DTD anyway.

Treats · 09/07/2012 22:34

I've only used OPKs for one month and kept getting near positives for a good four days before an actual positive, and then my temps didn't go up for another four days after that! Which was really impossible to manage......

I have heard of ferning. I think it's quite well proven as a method but the drawback is the difficulty of actually comparing the samples - I think you have to really know what you're looking for. If it's the kind of thing you think you'd enjoy blackcats then go for it.

Hi Lime - nice to see you - come and sprinkle some baby dust!! How's it all going?

Still no EWCM here! And it's CD16......

Pipbin · 09/07/2012 20:40

Well they do say that you can get a positive but not OV don't they.

OP posts:
SilentMammoth · 09/07/2012 20:15

It was a def positive though pip, I know because I kept out to obsses over!!!

Pipbin · 09/07/2012 19:45

I've had nearly positive OPKs before and then not had a actual positive until about a week later. It's one of the reasons I have got the CBFM.

SilentMammoth · 09/07/2012 19:06

Hi lime!! Good to see you!

Well I did not ov following that pos opk last week Confused.but cd15 today and I have ov pain ewcm and a very positive opk! If I ov now think out will be salutary lesson in drawbacks of relying on ov sticks, thank goodness I chart as well so can discount that previous pos as a surge, otherwise I would have missed this egg for sure!

Pipbin · 09/07/2012 13:01

Nice to see you Lime.
Stay around, I hear babies are contagious.

LimeLeafLizard · 09/07/2012 10:10

Hello everyone, I come and lurk here from time to time to see how you are all doing... Wishing you all BFPs.

I miss this thread actually! I haven't really got into the antenatal ones they are so busy I find it hard to keep up.

blackcatsdancing · 09/07/2012 09:56

i've just read a bit more. sounds fascinating apparently years ago was the gold standard in hospitals to see if you were close to ovulating- but using CM. the only real downside i can see is one woman said she had to take photos of the slides in order to compare each day, otherwise it was hard to make much sense of it. I wonder if buying multiple slides would help- how stable would the sample be a few days later? not sure how you can take a photo through a microscope though you can get digital ones where no doubt the image can be uploaded to a pc, they will be expensive though. has to be a fun thing. maybe i could draw the pattern...hmm

Dillydollydaydream · 09/07/2012 09:50

Ooh never heard of ferning, might have to Google that! I obviously have too much time on my hands today!

blackcatsdancing · 09/07/2012 09:21

in fact if i don't get preggers this month , i may treat myself to a new microscope. the sort of nerdy thing i like. Would rather get a proper microscope though so it can be used for other things.

blackcatsdancing · 09/07/2012 09:19

Treats I'm CD 18, either ovulated CD12 or 14, can't say this month . Glad you had a good break and all that yummy cheese and wine !

I too applied for the trial but seeing as someone said they were almost full i'm not holding out getting one. Has anyone ever tried ferning? you buy a little microscope (although i suppose any would do) and examine your saliva to see patterns. No need to spend any more money. Apparently you are looking at the effect estrogen has . I quite fancy giving it a go.

Dillydollydaydream · 09/07/2012 09:03

Ooh treats glad you enjoyed France with all that lovely cheese and wine, mmmmm!

I applied for the clear blue trial, wonder if I'll get a call? Would be fab to trial the CBFM. Not sure what dh will make of wee pots all over the fridge though. Also we're selling our house - we have an integrated fridge/freezer, I can imagine buyers faces as they clock pots of wee! Hehe :)

Squirrel77 · 09/07/2012 06:43

I think it is the CBFM. Sending my paperwork back today.

Pipbin · 08/07/2012 22:08

Sounds interesting Squirrel

I applied for the trial today. Got to the stage where I have to send my details. Guess I'll wait for them to get hold of me. Any idea what you are trialling?

OP posts:
Squirrel77 · 08/07/2012 21:47

Hi all,

Flying sorry you've been paid a visit by the evil Auntie Flo.

Blackcats sounds like you have been having a frustrating time. I never get a full line on an OPK either but read somewhere as long as the line is dark as the control line, doesn't matter if its thin in you see what I mean. Agree with Pip, best not to temp after sex as probably the sperm would cool down the fanjo area anyway??

Hope the CBFM is gong well Pip. I just got sent the paperwork for the trial - you have to send them samples of your wee which you store in the fridge. Mr Squirrel is going to think I'm a bit mental.

Well I am 11 DPO and got two BFNs this morning (no idea why I did two tests!) having a teeny bit of brown spotting and some weird pains like someone is poking my belly button (ouch). Also lost the plot today and cried for about an hour! Hmmm?.

Treats · 08/07/2012 21:12

Hi everyone! Back from my holiday and catching up. We had a lovely break - and - since we were in France and I wasn't pregnant - I made free with the wine and the seafood and the soft cheese. So nerrr.......

Pipbin - I was just reading about your 'adventures' at the end of your cycle, and it was EXACTLY what I had the week before - to the day - high temps and spotting for a few days, followed by a horrible AF.

Since then, I've not got much to report. DH and I have made a pact to DTD every two nights throughout the month this month and I'm not temping or OPKing this time round. I thought I'd just keep an eye on my EWCM for reassurance, but so far there hasn't been a drop of it - and I'm on CD15, so that's a bit odd. Trying not to think too much about it though. Actually, it's a relief not to do the temping - I'm not stressing out about when I ovulate.

flying - sorry to hear that AF got you. Wine

Pipbin - good luck with the CBFM - hope that works for you - it definitely sounds better than an OPK.

blackcats - what CD are you on?
