I have a 3 yr DS, I 'm trying for another, and don't get me wrong, I'd love another boy very much if I had one but I would dearly love a girl. I know they myths are a load of rubbish, but ahything is worth a try.

Any myths greatly received

Hi, been reading this thread with a lot of interest as i would love a girl too for my next baby i have a boy of 15 months and would like to fall pregnant next year about june hoprfully i only want to kids so would love a boy and a girl!
Where can you get those calenders from "BLUECOW"?
People have been warning me off wanting a girl as they say they are a lot harder than boys is this true? anyone with girl experiences and boys to compare?

bluecow · 08/12/2003 13:16

I know they've been mentioned before but there are websites which offer conception calendars.

I have just found out that I am expecting a girl (well, the sonographer thinks it is but they will never say for sure) and I wonder if that's because we didn't make love immediately before conception so the girly sperm survived and the boy sperm didn't get there? I dunno.

I also took magnesium and tried to lay off the foods which are more inclined to give you a boy.

Men who smoke are more likely to have daughters apparently.

Jimjams · 07/12/2003 22:10

shag a submariner. they only ever have girls

kayleigh · 05/12/2003 18:49

M2T Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! I am so pleased for you

fisil · 05/12/2003 18:46

I heard that because male sperm are physically stronger, if you go on top you are more likely to get a boy, because they swim better upstream.

katierocket · 05/12/2003 17:46

congrats M2T!

Zerub · 05/12/2003 17:44

Lots of ideas here

linzoid · 05/12/2003 17:06

Just for fun try this:
i can't do links so have a look at www.ivillage.co.uk and in search put chinese gender chart. If you scroll to the bottom of the page it gives yopu it's there.

musica · 05/12/2003 16:53

Hey congratulations M2T - had no idea!

tallulah · 04/12/2003 20:45

Mum2ela, veggie for 23 years, DD aged 17 & boys of 16, 14 & 12....

Ronnie, DS2 was definitely conceived in the afternoon..

Ronniebaby · 04/12/2003 20:37

B**y Hell, I go away from me pc for a day and ouch how many. Well let me just say a big thank you to all you ladies for your advice and info.

The only myths I had heard was have sex in the afternoon for Girls and morning for Boys, which sort of rang true with me as I have a boy and sex was in the morning, (oops toooo much info there)

I would really love a girl, but would be just as happy with a boy, altho I would love a girl for my DH, he's ok with our DS, but I think he would bond so much better with a girl.

I'll keep you posted, and Congrats to M2T

Don't know about veggies and girls but butchers tend to have sons, apparently - suppose all the hormones in the meat may affect the sperm.

SoupDragon · 04/12/2003 17:59

I agree with M2T - How can anyone NOT know???

3GirlsMum · 04/12/2003 17:59

Ronnie you know if you wish for a girl..you are bound to get another boy now..lol! Strangely this has never been an issue for me. I have three daughters and never wished for a son, was quite happy with whatever appeared! My main concern was that they were healthy and didnt snore like their father

quackers · 04/12/2003 17:57

WHAT! Are you pg M2T????

M2T · 04/12/2003 16:16

Aw thanks Rhubarb!
You lot must be very selective about what threads you read!! I haven't shut up about it on about 3 threads!

Rhubarb · 04/12/2003 16:04

Hey M2T you kept that quiet didn't you?????? CONGRATS! I hope it's a girl for you too and I really hope everything goes well for you!

M2T · 04/12/2003 15:56

Thanks WSM.

I started the "Anyone due in August 2004" thread.

I'm keeping everything crossed coz it is SO early!

WSM · 04/12/2003 15:51

I also lost a DD in the 26th week of preg, so both of my 2 pregnancies I have been carrying a girl.

WSM · 04/12/2003 15:49

That doesn't hold true for us. DH's first wife and mum of his 2 boys is a veggie and has been for 15+ years (boys are 11 & 10). I, on the other hand, as wife number 2 and mum of his daughter am a fully paid up meatie !!! Sorreeeeeee

MUM2ELA · 04/12/2003 15:46

Isn't there something about being a veggie means you have more girls (s'thing to do with your mucus being more acidic and killing the male sperm)?

Well, I am a veggie and I had a girl, so it must be true!

WSM · 04/12/2003 15:29

OMG !!!!!!!!!! HUGGGGGGGGGGE congrats M2T . Didn't take you long

M2T · 04/12/2003 15:21

Only 5 weeks Northerner. VERY early days! I got a +ve test 5 days before my period was due (don't ask why I tested ) )!

Northerner · 04/12/2003 15:05

M2T I didn't know you were pregnant! Congratulations! How far gone are you?
