The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia

Welcome to The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia. The national drink is of course gin, state funded to get you into a state. We have many traditions and customs, such as sechsing, swearing for the fun of it (optional) and urinating on little white sticks.
Enemy of the state is Droid, who must be heckled heartily should it put in an appearance. There is an ongoing lottery to win a baybee, being granted citizenship of The Republic is your ticket to the lottery.

As a democracy all members are entitled to put forward any customs or rules they would like and we can all adopt important but silly titles if we like. See the George Carlin sketch about hats and religion and make your own mind up about whether you would like a ceremonial hat to accompany whichever title/role you bestow upon yourself.

Newcomers should find and complete the BESHtionnaire so we can make sure you are cynical and non-fluffy enough to be granted Citizenship.

[twirls]

Off to Ascot ladies! Back later, hopefully with pictures!

Northey · 19/06/2012 07:05

sinky, that's shit! How frustrating! Can you make yourself feel better by discombobulating them? Walk in and say "I think you have me in the wrong clinic. I daresay you'll be repeating all the tests while we wait for me to get an appointment in the right one."

I am surreptitiously fingering my nipples on the train. I've had no sensitivity at all this cycle (the one sign of ovulation I've managed to pick up). Hmm.

HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 20:36

An he's just come in must be half-time and said he was only curious Hmm

To be fair, we seriously looked at moving oop norf a couple of years ago but we could get so little for our money round Manc Lincolnshire is crazy cheap we changed our minds. Found nice houses but not in very nice areas. I took it serially, even applied for jobs and got an interview! We agreed to commit to here. My family are found the corner. Literally. All in the same village! Bout 5 minutes walk to Dsis, maybe 15 to Dad's. We have put in plenty of babysitting for DNephew so would hope we get repaid in kind if when we have a baybee. So just a random notion that apparently he knew I'd blow out of proportion. I guess I've quite liked having my own space - night times aside and it's a bit odd him having back, leaving dirty pants on the floor, trail of breadcrumbs, loo roll empty and toilet seat up.....

sinkingflameofhilarity · 18/06/2012 20:17

That's a lot of questions. Feel free to ignore.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 18/06/2012 20:17

Argh indeed. GHJ talks about moving back up north, but I think it's empty talk for the next few years at least.

What do you think about moving? Would you consider it if you talked to him about it? Maybe he's got an a-mazing grand plan? Where are your family? Might be useful to have a babysitter or two nearby?

HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 20:07

Ah. Need a slight adjustment then sinkers.

Well most of his family are there. Now as I said, his crazy Mum is there, his uncle (MIL'a brother) and aunt, cousins. His grandparents are about an hour down the road but that's not an easy relationship. When we met he had a job offer to go down there but chose to move to Lincoln to be with me. It's his fantasy get out I think Confused but we don't have the money to even move! I think he'd up and leave this house because he feels unsettled. Having lived in a rented house for 5 months, I don't really want to give up our home! Argh.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 18/06/2012 19:59

Devon? Er... Why? Sure it's a beautiful part of the world, but a long way from most things- especially when you've just got your house back! Are you sure it wasn't just idle browsing? I've been known to do that...

As for clinic, I was sent to the general gyn clinic I think, whereas I need to go to the infertility (Sad) clinic. But all sorted now. Except GHJ is in Paris with work and I'm meant to be in the middle of a week of nights...

HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 19:47

Howdy sinky! Nice to see you! :) rubbish about realising your referrals have been cocked up but at least you will get seen and soon now. What kind of clinic should you be seen in then? Endocrinology?

Pain is maybe as bad as it was 2 weeks after coming out of hospital. Peaking at about 8/10 whereas hospital was 9-10...

AIBU to be a bit pissed off that MSB is searching for jobs in Devon? In essence he wants to sell the house after waiting so long to come back give my Dad his deposit back and ,I've to Devon. Even though his Mum is there who he doesn't speak to Hmm and I only know he's looking at these jobs because I've found the page open on the iPad. I'm not moving to Devon

sinkingflameofhilarity · 18/06/2012 18:45

Congrats Rollo!

Sorry you're not 100% faife. Does the shopping and boredom mean things aren't as bad as last time?

I've had a bt of an up and down time recently (not actually been away, but trying to minimise the menkul). Got my 'ivf' clinic appt for Aug, but in a moment of weakness, looked up my records again at work (this is v bad. Must not do again). Letter from gynaecology to GP basically said "you've sent sinky to the wrong clinic. She is coming to a general gyn clinic but now she can't be seen sooner so we'll see her then to tell her and repeat all the investigations"...

Not impressed was not the word. But what the hell do you do when you hold never have seen that letter?

And then today, hurrah!, a letter from GP saying have been referred to ivf clinic and ignore the aug appt... Appointment now July 2nd! Now if I can just convince them to not repeat my investigations I'll be laughing...

Less pleasant was my (pregnant) friends dad giving me a big hug as he left a wedding we were both at, then whispered in my ear "hope you get pregnant soon". Hmm

Anyways... Any more news peeps? Have scanned the board but there was an awful lot to catch up on!

HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 17:58

(o) (o)

That's me flashing my tits! sorry I'm a bit bored

CaveMum · 18/06/2012 15:39

[strips off down to Spanx]

Whoop whoop Queeny! Hurrah for correctly-situated-beating-bean Grin

HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 13:44

Hooray!! For a sticky heart beatingy bean in the right place!! Grin do you feel like you can breathe a little now? Angry that you're having problems getting ante-natal care though. Kick some arse! (just mention PALS)

queenrollo · 18/06/2012 13:41

I've just posted in the PESH but I am Grin because not only is my bean right where it should be but the scanning lady (sonographer?) was happily surprised that she could see a very faint heartbeat.

I cannot get a booking in appointment with the midwife until I am 11/12 weeks.....Hmm looks like i'm going to have to go into battle again to get bloody ante-natal care!!

I think I'm just happy to have MSB home! Missed him. Think it does us good to have some time apart, we don't do it that often.

Yes broken MN was rubbish! Snot like I had work to get on with. That's why I went shopping instead..Wink

CaveMum · 18/06/2012 12:39

Oh it's all over the place isn't it Dor! I've had to do some work instead!!!

FriendofDorothy · 18/06/2012 12:29

OK. who broke Mumsnet this morning?

CaveMum · 18/06/2012 12:24

You're sounding a bit perkier now Faith, are the pain meds kicking in?!

Euro, what lovely news for your friend. My mum is an identical twin and there are several sets of twins in the family, so my odds (when I get round to diffage) are disconcertingly higher than normal Confused

Any news Queeny?

I've had my day made: I had to pop out of the office to collect something from the Post Office and a man walking towards me stopped in his tracks, looked at me then said "I thought you were Kate Middleton for a moment!" Grin

[ponders trying to blag her way into the Royal Enclosure at Ascot tomorrow] Wink

HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 12:15

Hurray we're back on! MSB is home :) tis luffly. He has made me a Cuppa.

How exciting for your friend. I know what you mean about getting it all done in one go. My sister has twin boys through IVF although she had it just before the cut off point when they stopped transferring more than one embryo - she has severe endometriosis and couldn't conceive naturally - and she feels exactly that way. Twins are intense though. And expensive.

Stil waiting to hear back.....ooh but have ordered a nice dress for my friend's wedding in 4 weeks see here which should come Friday. I have shoes to match and can borrow a bag off my sister. Just hope it looks nice on!
I always, always wanted two DC but I don't knwk if I could face TTC again. Even though things are supposedly resolved...I think if we did we wouldn't leave it long after dc1 and would probably set a time limit,

queenrollo · 18/06/2012 10:13

booo for bitchy sec faith hope they call you back. You could invoke the threat of PALS if they don't. I found that properly put a rocket up the dept when I mentioned it! But the thing is we shouldn't have to get stroppy just to get a bloody appointment sorted out.

Wow dor what great news for yoru friend. I keep thinking about what I'd do if i was told i'm having twins. It was hard enough for me carrying one baby, i'm so small. If i had twins I'd be immobile!

OP posts:
FriendofDorothy · 18/06/2012 10:10

Do you remember a couple of weeks ago I mentioned a friend who had a win on her first IVF attempt?

She just emailed me to say she had a scan on friday and it is twins! I am a bit envious of twins though - would have quite liked to get it all out of the way in one go! Really pleased for her though.

Hope everyone else is hanging on in there. I am ok. Getting fatter by the day and I am not sure I can blame it all on baby I am afraid!

HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 09:56

Talked to a secretary total bitch who said talk to choose and book. 'no operators availbale' so I've left a message. Essentially it's been identified I needed an appointment but no appointment has been arranged.....I've left a message asking them to call me.

queenrollo · 18/06/2012 09:53

Can you phone the dept direct that you're waiting for an appointment from faith? As much as my Cons secretary can be a mardy arse she's been quite good at chivvying things along when I've pestered her.

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 09:50

I was going to say take a book!

queenrollo · 18/06/2012 09:45

that's what I'm expecting faify. The nurse said she only had one appt left so clinic is obviously going to be busy. The dept covers EPAU, regular maternity scans, gynae, fertility clinic and female cancers - so it's likely to be busy, and so I'm taking a book!

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 09:40

I'd anticipate a bit of a wait at that time of day to be honest. Latter end of appointments queenie so ouch at the bladder stretching.

Still trying to establish an appointment date...why is this so difficult?!
