The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia

Welcome to The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia. The national drink is of course gin, state funded to get you into a state. We have many traditions and customs, such as sechsing, swearing for the fun of it (optional) and urinating on little white sticks.
Enemy of the state is Droid, who must be heckled heartily should it put in an appearance. There is an ongoing lottery to win a baybee, being granted citizenship of The Republic is your ticket to the lottery.

As a democracy all members are entitled to put forward any customs or rules they would like and we can all adopt important but silly titles if we like. See the George Carlin sketch about hats and religion and make your own mind up about whether you would like a ceremonial hat to accompany whichever title/role you bestow upon yourself.

Newcomers should find and complete the BESHtionnaire so we can make sure you are cynical and non-fluffy enough to be granted Citizenship.

yay! for dor i know i'm a latecomer as far as your news is concerned but have been thinking about you.

HOLB came home bearing the ingredients for Pimms and a desire to listen to Test Match Special.
Pimms before dinner has made me wobbly. About to have a glass of water to try and sober up, because otherwise i'm going to be putting DS to dinner half cut. Note to self. Do not let HOLB mix the first batch of Pimms....

see now...Benedict is not my usual taste, but there is just something about him that makes my ovaries twitch.

Simon's Cat is hysterical and much watched in this household.

CaveMum · 25/05/2012 09:34

Blush I read "pubbage" as "pube-age" to start with [sniggers in juvenile fashion]

Queeny if you want to waste time on You Tube I can highly recommend "Simon's Cat", and, if you are so inclined search for "Benedict Cumberbatch for your entertainment". It's one of my "go to" videos Wink

[becomes raging ball of hormones]

Head strokes dor. I am sure your mum did not mean it. And good luck and have fun with the scan. Really hope for exciting swimming baby in there!!

The pubbage was good, but I did not come on here afters for singalongs sorry! We did sechsing for fun. But it was no fun. My boobs are too huge and hurty and kept getting in the way. It is odd. So now I am menkulling massively.

The discount code made me smile cave. And well done all round for our levels of activity and some comforting head strokes for faith. You will get better and be able to run again!

Sorry about PMS as well faith. Men... Mine thinks clothes become magically clean and dishes magically washed. He also thinks that our living room is his changing chamber and has been known to leave as many shirts out as we have chairs to drape them over. (She says looking around and seeings: 1 lemon cardigan, 1 lemon t shirt, 1 lemon pair of trousers and only 1 pair of SB shorts - oops!) Working and/or procastinating from home today, you see.

queenrollo · 25/05/2012 09:09

i too have a mother who makes the most innapropriate comments at times. I think it's in the job description. I keep telling HOLB that if I start turning into my mother he is to shoot me. Turning into my father slightly more appealing option, but only because he is legitimately bonkers.
I'm sat waiting for some gig tickets to go on sale, hoping it's not a scrum as we really want to see this band.
Collecting DS later who is at the GP with his dad later because we think he has a uti on top of his cold. Poor mite has sailed through 6 years without really being ill and just lately seems to have had one cold running into another.

am living up to my official role of Procrastinator extraordinairre by resolutely ignoring housework in favour of watching sexy rock stars on Youtube.

Oh Dor [does silly dance in attempt to make Dor smile] I'm sure she meant nothing by it. Mums have a habit of being far too blunt at times.

Good luck with the scan today and let us know how you get on Smile

FriendofDorothy · 25/05/2012 08:24

Gah. I am sitting at work in tears because my Mum made an unthinking comment about my weight as I was about to walk out of the door. I know she didn't mean to but she really upset me :(

I have got my scan today and I think I am feeling hyper-sensitive!

CaveMum · 25/05/2012 08:07

I did my Shred DVD this morning, 4th day in a row. I've put on abut of weight and lost tone since the new year - when my dancing took a downturn.

I've also fallen for the hype and ordered some of those Zaggora HotPants Blush. I didn't pay full price though, if anyone is interested there is a 20% off discount code - SLIMHOT.

It's sunny in the morning for the first time this week - so far it's been foggy every morning and it's taken till lunchtime for the sun to burn through. Happy Friday everyone!

eurochick · 24/05/2012 23:03

Haven't we been an active bunch? I went for a run this evening. I came back looking like a very soggy tomato! And KFZK refused to give me a hug, the bastard.

Flame that is really quite bad. Although I'd quite like it if KFZK was a bit less of a feeder. I've put on about a stone since we moved in together! When I lived on my own I just couldn't be arsed some evenings so I didn't bother to eat anything.

I hope the bunny makes it queenie.

sinkingflameofhilarity · 24/05/2012 22:54

And Drizzly, congrats on the pre breakfast running- I'm rubbish at motivating myself, but now I'm cycling to work, I have no choice but to get a good hour of exercise a day! (just wish my bum would look to be getting smaller rather than more flabby. What the mofo is that all about?!)

I expect a Eurovision singalong with a rulvakian flavour on return from the pub...

sinkingflameofhilarity · 24/05/2012 22:45

Oh faife. Men are all the same- mine doesn't put the seat down and seems to have a dubious aim, even when sober Confused. Yesterday he texted me to say he was going home via the supermarket to get dinner. So I cycled home. To find he bought himself dinner. But not me. Because I hadn't specifically said I might like to eat. Hmm. And it was me in the wrong because I "made him feel bad"

I feel like such a cliche. I just need my hair in rollers and and to be brandishing a rolling pin, in a Les Dawson stylee.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 24/05/2012 22:21

Envy at having the ability to run :(
Well I'm officially PSMing. I fell asleep at 8 due to making myself stay at work all day. I woke up, went downstairs to get my antibiotic and got very Angry with MSB for spending 1 1/2 hours playing on his ps3 but can't even put the bloody salad back in the bloody fridge?! Or put The toilet seat down? Who does he think does these things? Fairies? See? PMS.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/05/2012 20:52

Just popping in to poke sinky

Sorry about the bunny and not quite rescue queen

Good luck with diet-plan bugs. I am off the run more when you're flabby club. Which I did this morning, nearly 3 miles before breakfast!

Right, I am knackered, but still going to the pub. Waves at my fellow Rulvakians. I reckon we should be allowed to compete in eurovision...

queenrollo · 24/05/2012 19:49

RSPCA lady has been. Bunny was listless and cold, but she's taken it to the vet anyway. I'd say the shock has done for it but I couldn't let the cat kill it in my garden.

Dh late in because of boring meetings all day. Trip away this weekend cancelled because DS is poorly.

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaithBaby · 24/05/2012 19:32

Poor bunny :(

queenrollo · 24/05/2012 18:33

have rescued baby rabbit from neighbours pesky cat. I know they hunt, but don't bloody do it in my garden. Could hear terrible squeally noises. Now waiting for RSPCA to come round......

and i got nettle stingy ankles because of course the cat had the bunny in the wild bit of garden and I was scrambling round in there with a towel to get hold of bunny.

need gin.
