The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia

Welcome to The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia. The national drink is of course gin, state funded to get you into a state. We have many traditions and customs, such as sechsing, swearing for the fun of it (optional) and urinating on little white sticks.
Enemy of the state is Droid, who must be heckled heartily should it put in an appearance. There is an ongoing lottery to win a baybee, being granted citizenship of The Republic is your ticket to the lottery.

As a democracy all members are entitled to put forward any customs or rules they would like and we can all adopt important but silly titles if we like. See the George Carlin sketch about hats and religion and make your own mind up about whether you would like a ceremonial hat to accompany whichever title/role you bestow upon yourself.

Newcomers should find and complete the BESHtionnaire so we can make sure you are cynical and non-fluffy enough to be granted Citizenship.

Sorry for my lack of paragraphs and proper punctuation. I'm all over the place in that last post.

LauraPalmerish · 01/06/2012 22:31

I think I'm scared that he'll be unhappy since we weren't actively trying (although we also weren't actively using proper protection either). For some reason I feel really guilty - last week we just had a brief talk about when to TTC again and I was obviously more ready than he was. Of course I didn't know I was already pg at the time. What we decided in our talk is that we'd consider trying again in August. I think he's quite tentative to get pregnant again because of the fear we'd loose another baby. And that all of our previous unhappiness miscarriage tension and anger would flare up again and destroy all that we've spent the past 6 months rebuilding.

I hate that I feel guilty and scared. Sad

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 01/06/2012 22:22

How do you think he will feel if you wait? Would he ask when you found out? I know MSB would want me to tell me immediately different circumstances I know and really prefers I test when he's around although not in the room! If he would be ok with you not telling him, maybe wait. But is it one of those things that might get harder the longer you leave it?! You'd need to set a date to tell him if you chose to wait a bit.

LauraPalmerish · 01/06/2012 22:18

I think you're spot on, Faife. It's kind of like if it's a secret then nothing can go wrong - with the pregnancy or the relationship.

Do you think it's bad form if I decided to wait a few days to tell him?

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 01/06/2012 22:13

I meant Wednesday I am very confused having had today off, I've thought it was Saturday!
Yes, you can sleep on it tonight lors. Maybe telling him is scary because then it will seem more real? Without him knowing, you can sort of pretend it's not happening?

FriendofDorothy · 01/06/2012 22:10

Oooooo wooooooow.... ... congrats Laura ;)

LauraPalmerish · 01/06/2012 21:52

Thank you for your sage advice, Faithy. He's not with me tonight as I've been at the theatre all day, opening a new show. Will see him tomorrow though. But part of my wants to wait to tell him for some reason. I'm scared. Sad

Regarding the GP, I think everything is closed Tues for the Queen's fete?

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 01/06/2012 21:45

You should sit TOM down and tell him, is he with you/around? You should go to your doctors on Tuesday to discuss how they will monitor you. I shall remove my top, pop my nipple tassels on and dance around whilst drinking some of Cavey's offerings Grin

LauraPalmerish · 01/06/2012 20:59

I don't know who else to tell...
I got a BFP today. 4 of them. On three different brands of tests.

And I'm not ready to tell TOM. Things are going incredibly well between us but I'm afraid that part of it is because we're finally beginning to heal from our July and November miscarriages. This is the EXACT same month we fell pregnant last year.

I'm in shock.

I know I should be very happy - and I am - but I don't feel like I can give into the happiness, yet. I'm just nervous.

What should I do?

Northey · 01/06/2012 17:35

Very regal of you cave. In that case, I'll have a double.

HRHCavey · 01/06/2012 16:46

What lovely news Dor

In more good news, I backed the winner of the Epsom Oaks at 33/1 this afternoon Grin

Drinks are on Cavey Wine and Gin all round

FriendofDorothy · 01/06/2012 15:45

How exciting - a friend has just emailed me to say she is pregnant on her first IVF attempt. I am delighted for her!

HRHCavey · 01/06/2012 13:45

Well within your rights to be angry Dor, can you file a complaint with anyone over it?

Took ages at the hospital, though I'm not complaining. There was a young woman with Downs in front of me in the queue and she got very distressed poor thing. She was crying and calling for her mum (who was there with her) and it took both of the nurses on duty to distract her/calm her down to get the sample.

Still getting a High on shag dictator, so hoping it turns to a peak over the weekend - HWHNN and I are together for 5 whole days, a miracle!

FriendofDorothy · 01/06/2012 13:36

I am royally fucked off.

Was meant to go and see a patient on the ward today but she has suspected chickenpox and pregnant women have been advised not to go to the ward. So, I phoned up and told the nurse that I couldn't go and he said 'oh are you not immune'... to which I should have replied 'none of your business', BUT he really threw me and I told him I couldn't go because I am pregnant. next thing I hear he has told this nasty, manipulative, p[ersonality disordered patient that I am not attending because I am pregnant. I definitely did not want my patients being told I am expecting yet, and I certainly did not want her to know. So, AIBU?

Northey · 01/06/2012 13:17

Like a charm, fee.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 01/06/2012 12:53

I'm the same with Dad now, even though his prostate cancer is treatable I still sobbed when I heard it had come back!

Good non-menkulling sinky. Weird long cycle though Hmm

Oh by the way does this work?

eurochick · 01/06/2012 12:42

I'm the same with my mum Sinking - thinking every ache or pain must be the return of the Big C. Not helped by the fact that it actually was a stiff neck that alerted us to the bone secondary.

Well done at managing the menkulling!

sinkingflameofhilarity · 01/06/2012 12:23

Afternoon ladies.

Still at the hospital Cave? Love the name change.

Euro, have a cheeky squeeze. It's rubbish isn't it? My mums ok now, but after her cancers I fear everytime she mentions a cold or ache (or the pyelonephritis she ignored till she needed admission). Hope the antibiotics kick in.

Sorry the droid got you norf and driz. And sorry you're still not 100% faife

The metal fecker still AWOL from my life. Cd 42. Meant to poas this morning, pre hen do, but forgot! Surely a good sign of managing the menkul, no? Might buy one tonight on my drive up north to do tomorrow morning, to make sure no baybee pickling goes on.

eurochick · 01/06/2012 12:07

Thanks ladies. I know I am thinking the worst before it has happened but it seems so familiar after what happened to "Uncle" Rog. :( It'll be a waiting game for a while to see if the antibiotics do anything, and if not then me and my mum will have to get nagging. Like many men, my dad takes a "bury head in sand" approach to his health.

lemons sorry to hear about the Droid's visit. Do you think you will go for IVF? I am still struggling to get my head around having a medical procedure when i am undiagnosed, but I am getting increasingly desperate to just end the misery of ttc. I really thought IUI might do the trick, but we've given it two gos now with no success. This is cycle 20 for us.

HRHCavey · 01/06/2012 10:12

[name change for the weekend]

Loving the bunting and "Ma'amsnet" Grin

CaveMum · 01/06/2012 09:07

Morning everyone, posting from the hospital waiting room while I wait for my blood test. I know I haven't ov'd yet but it'll be interesting to see what the clinic say about the bloods after last time Hmm

Euro sorry to hear about your dad. I know something of how you feel, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer 6 years ago but thankfully he has the non-aggressive form and it appears to be almost dormant. As others gave said, we always tend to assume the worst case scenario and things rarely are as bad as we fear.

Lemon grr for droidal invasion [dispatches troops].

Faithy hope you are feeling better and that you get all moved in over the weekend.

Bugs how are those buzwams?!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 01/06/2012 08:41

Missed the page with the huge boobs, any news on that bugs?

Sorry about your droidal invasion norf, although it does sound like clomid is doing good things. And for what it is worf, we are unexplained, so perfect eggs, hormones and swimmers. And no hint of a BFP in 23 months...

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 01/06/2012 08:36

Morning all!

Oh euro so sorry about your worries about your father and all you have faced already in your family. I am keeping everything crossed he'll be okay. Keep a close watch. My father has battled with cancer (and won, thanfully) before so I sort of know how it feels. I really hope you got some sleep last night!

I did not sleep much, because the spotting went away again and I was thinking every 5 minutes, this morning I can go for a blood test... Until I got up for the morning and there droid arrived. With a vengance. So annoyed. There were worky worries and stresses as well, so all in all I am a greenish lemon today...

Sorry you feel so bad still, faif if you're hobbling after a day at work. Although I am most shocked by the absence of sanitary bins at work Confused that is plain weird.

Northey · 31/05/2012 23:23

Hopefully you're at this second doing that thing where you are so tense and unhappy you think you'll never sleep, but your body has mercy and knocks you out cold. Youll still be sad and worried in the morning, but you'll be able to deal with those feelings better. I'm so sorry it's happening, but like faithy says, our minds naturally go to the worst case scenario, but strong chance is that that's not the one that will come true.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 31/05/2012 23:13

don't worry shreds it's late
euro it's natural to be worried, especially with what you've faced before. How long did he have the cough before he saw the doc? Doc obviously thinks its a chest infection if he's on antibiotics? Yes the fact that he was a heavy smoker adds to the worry but he quit which is a very good thing! Remember - Reality is kinder than thd stories we tell ourselves about it.
