The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia

Welcome to The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia. The national drink is of course gin, state funded to get you into a state. We have many traditions and customs, such as sechsing, swearing for the fun of it (optional) and urinating on little white sticks.
Enemy of the state is Droid, who must be heckled heartily should it put in an appearance. There is an ongoing lottery to win a baybee, being granted citizenship of The Republic is your ticket to the lottery.

As a democracy all members are entitled to put forward any customs or rules they would like and we can all adopt important but silly titles if we like. See the George Carlin sketch about hats and religion and make your own mind up about whether you would like a ceremonial hat to accompany whichever title/role you bestow upon yourself.

Newcomers should find and complete the BESHtionnaire so we can make sure you are cynical and non-fluffy enough to be granted Citizenship.

He had in fact already been in my pants, chipmunk. Perhaps he was flushed with post-sechs love. Or bleariness.

alwyn · 09/06/2012 21:51

Was he trying to get in your pants norf?

alwyn · 09/06/2012 21:51

I'm even going for the hospital gowns worn in Girl: Interrupted. Still a no for me.

Northey · 09/06/2012 21:50

Ahem. I was once told I looked like Angelina Jolie Dark hair, dark eyes, impressive rack (and the chap in question didn't seem to notice the lack of stunning beauty to go with those things...)

euro, you killa beyatch!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/06/2012 21:41

I am too wobbly for anything Anj has worn. Ever.

alwyn · 09/06/2012 21:26

I don't think either of us (me or CGH) would look good in ANYTHING worn by JoliePitt.

Good luck for your SWI euro! It is CGH's birthday tomorrow - luckily that fits in with our EOD plans!

eurochick · 09/06/2012 21:07

Gosh. I appear to have wandered into a CLUSTERDIFF! Well done, Beshies. I reckon it's the vit D. It is known to play a role in fertility and we all got a good blast of it a couple of weeks ago.

Oh, and welcome to the newby.

I had the first day of my marksmanship course today. On the measured exercise, I did the best in the class. KFZK also kicked arse (was second in the measured exercise and I think got more bullseyes than me overall). We are considering quitting law and becoming assassins, a la Mr & Mrs Smith. He says I have to get the outfits Jolie wore.

I managed to sneak in an OPK between shots, and got a positive so we are all systems go for swi. It has been a busy day! I hope the swimmers can get on target too.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/06/2012 20:43

Looks like she's had a rough time of it :(

I luff that you came in prepared with a TLA for your fella als! I wouldn't worry about the career thing, I didn't qualify as a nurse til I was 26.

So I'm faith. I'm a nurse specially old crumblies been wed to MSB (Mr Squidgy Baybee) for 3 years. Came off the pill Christmas 2009 - MSB was scared he wouldn't be a good dad til DSis had a baybee who adored him from the outset. I see our ttc as this: year one - fruitless unprotected sechs; year two - investigated why we weren't winning a baybee; year three - win a baybee currently half way through year three so I'm being optimistic!

alwyn · 09/06/2012 19:19

Never mind bugs - I'm just in a bit of denial about the fact I will be 30 soon. So just planning on drinking more gin and forgetting about it!! Course, will be moot point if I get upduffed, as I won't be able to drink on my birthday anyway!

So, I'm 29, married to CGH (computer geek husband) for 4 years now, been together for 10ish. I'm a secondary school teacher doing my first year of teaching (yeah, I'm slow on the career uptake) and we're TTC #1 (first cycle and that). Hoping to win a baybee sooner rather than later!

faith I think striptease got a BFP and did a kitten!

Northey · 09/06/2012 18:49

shreddies, I didn't even realise you were the newest, so nicely settled are you.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/06/2012 18:47

shreds I don't think I'll go back to GP since I'm waiting for a specialist appointment unless I run out of the good painkillers!
Cheers to world gin day :)
So tell us more about yourself alwyn!.......
What happened to striptease? Did her BESHtionnaire and promptly vanished! Are we intimidating?!
I have had a nice catch up with my preggo friend. I explained we were trying to win a baybee but it wasn't too straightforward for us but we should be in 'normal' ranges now. She was great because while she talked about her bump she wasn't too smug about it and talked to me about other stuff too.

Northey · 09/06/2012 18:43

Argh! rolly! Congratulations!

Something like that, LP (and bugsy, whose question i shamelessly ignored the other day) but I iz a hard-hearted BESH, innit, so am suppressing any girly squeeeeeeing :)

AlwynAndTheChipmunks... I shall now go back and read your Rulvakian immigration quiz BESHtionnaire (well done for INITIATIVE in finding it yourself, btw. V good) and consider.

whispers I is not yet in my 30s - shhhhhh!!! I'm 30 in January Grin

And Happy World Gin Day!!!

ShredniVashtar · 09/06/2012 17:08

Gosh, rollo you must be in a roller coaster at the moment. I shall dance cautiously in a semi- nekkid way and cross fingers and toes that this diff works out for you.

Welcome, newby! Am relieved not to be the newest BESH any more. And hello Sunny - we've not met but I recognise your name from my lurking days.

faith sorry you're still in pain. Is it worth going back to your GP? Things clearly ain't right yet.

Did you know it's world gin day today? . We may not have baybees yet, but at least we shall have gin!

queenrollo · 09/06/2012 16:05

welcome alwyn

I have tried to scan back through what I missed while away but DS keeps demanding my attention.

I did a FR this morning and it was an absolutely instant positive result. I have told HOLB who said he doesn't know whether to be excited or not. I feel the same to be honest. It's been a long road to get here and after the misery of the CP/MC at the beginning of the year I think we're right to be cautious.
I do have very sore buzzwams though. DS kept trying to hug me when we were out earlier and I'm finding that difficult because it hurts.
I am at risk of ectopic according to my Cons, so until I've had it confirmed that this egg is in the right place I won't be able to relax. Am a bit unsure how to progress. Cons said to inform him as soon as I fell PG, other surgeon said to go to my GP and be referred.
hmmmm I may see my GP first who is sensible and will advise best course of action.

alwyn · 09/06/2012 14:42

Congrats on all the recent BFPs, by the way!

alwyn · 09/06/2012 14:42

Newbie BESH here (although I am still 6 months away from being an official BESH), but you lot are more entertaining than the vast majority of people in here.

Questionnaire below:

  1. Do you like gin?
Yes - in all social and non-social situations

  2. Men - are you a gold digger or a cradle snatching cougar?
CGH (computer geek husband) is younger than me, so cougar I guess?

  3. Baybee-making - to put a baybee in your tumtum, which hole do you use:
    a) weewee
    b) poopoo
    c) foofoo
    d) none, you just pray to the baby Jebus.

Definitely c). a) sounds painful, b) means you're slightly off-course and d) is for people who don't understand science

  1. Testing - when someone wonders if they should test for updiff (pg), do you: a) bellow 'POAS!' at them non-stop and punch them repeatedly in the kidneys till they wet themselves anyway. b) Sprinkle them with babydust and send them hugs and kisses on lickle baby angel wings.

Definitely a). So very much a).

  1. Is R2D2: a) an adorable robot from Star Wars. b) the source of all evil.

b) and irritating as sin

  1. Number of pets?

None, but still want a dog

  1. Inappropriate (read: weird) crush of shame?

Michael Palin - what AM I thinking?

  1. Lesbian crush?

Alyssa Milano. Without a doubt

  1. What are your views on camping?

Bad manners in computer games. Not ever going to happen in real life. Give me a nice comfy hotel bed any day

  1. How much money have you spent on sticks you then urinate on? i) Oh nothing, I'll probably catch first time and then get the doctor to confirm it. ii) Over 100 quid iii) I opened an account on ebay solely for the purpose of purchasing sticks

I'd love it to be iii), and have recently used my ebay account for this purpose :P

Finally, tell us how you found the BESH and why you'd like to join us pliz.

Random clicking on threads. You lot are normal.

I've got purple Mary Janes which I absolutely luff :) they will work. I want to wear a dress really but I don't really have anything that works. I was just going to go to Debenhams and see what would work with the shoes! It's just that this morning all I've managed is breakfast and to empty the dishwasher - will I manage 3 hours travel next week?!

LauraPalmerish · 09/06/2012 10:56

Sors to hear the pain is worse, Faithy Sad

Re. the ball - a 1930's theme is fairly easy to do. It's all about styling and adjusting something you might already have in your wardrobe. For example you could wear a tweed skirt, silk blouse and a headscarf a la Daisy in Great Gatsby (see current pics of Cary Mulligan). Tell us what you've got and we can help!

CaveMum · 09/06/2012 10:55

Eh, new diffage???!!!

[strips off]

Congrats on the BFP queeny Grin, but so sorry about your dad. What mixed emotions you must be going through right now [un-BESH-like hugs]

Still no ov here Hmm [pissed off]
