A friendly, supportive thread for those of us who are taking a bloody long little longer time than average to conceive.

OP posts:

Great you had such a lovely time. Special waves to dave-pout. And the news that the finger is pointing elsewhere this month... Spotting has started so we're counting on sarlat for this weeks win!

joycep · 30/05/2012 07:37

Hi ya - last night was fun. Thank you ladies for coming but Dave how could you? Anyway It was very nice to see what you look like and to use your real names although a little confusing! . . I got home and mrJoy said "so was it like a talk or a seminar on ivf. What did you learn?" clearly he didn't get it but that's fine, i just let him believe what he wanted. Love the virtual party banter - and all the Wine flowing. Our table was flowing with juice and water and diet coke although a few peeps had a glass of vino.
Will catch up later with stuff but just wanted to say sarlat I hope you are hanging on in there. I can imagine the wait is torture and very hard not to think about. And wine I can't believe you have been back in hospital. Argh! Poor you. I hope you are on the mend now and eating lots of iron.

princesschick · 30/05/2012 00:17

I'm home too :) As Frannie & Gin say it was absolutely lovely to put names and faces together and to talk non stop TTC with other lovely ladies. Everyone was totally normal and really, really nice. Another one soon please! Oh and I even managed to find a brown dinner. Get in. Better give Mr Princess (ha what a metro name!!) some attention. Loving the online virtual party, am I too late to pass round some weak squash and party rings? Xxx I'll post proper to everyone tomorrow but wine I'm so sorry to hear of your trials and tribulations post op. Hope you are healing and feeling better after posh vino xxx

Frannieannie · 30/05/2012 00:08

Home safe and sound!
Was really lovely to meet up and put a face to a (nick)name! Everyone just as lovely in RL as they are on here! Hopefully we can do it again with more of us soon. As gin says, thanks for organising joyce.
Waves to everyone xxx Wine Dont mind if I do!

ArtemisTheHunter · 29/05/2012 23:21

Oh hurrah, thanks gin for the update, glad you had a lovely time! Hope I can make the next one... If I buy train tickets far enough advance it's just possible to get to That London without having to remortgage. I agree Dave Pout it would be something good to come out of the crap.

Waves to all, fingers crossed Lemons that the squits are indeed an omen of something more exciting!

GinSoaked · 29/05/2012 22:36

Hello ladies! May I join the virtual paaaarty on the way home from the meet up? I bring Wine. Yum. It was lovely and lovely to meet everyone. And we could talk about ttc as much as we wanted and everyone was normal :) Big thanks to joyce for organising. Hopefully there will be another one soon and you can all come (apart from Dave the trucker).

Hope all the lovely ladies that I met got home ok x

poutintrout · 29/05/2012 20:50

Still no live feed??? Grin

Just wanted to pop back on to say how much of a shitty doofus I feel for not going. Please can we arrange another meet up soon so I can come [grovelling smiley]. You are all such a lovely bunch of ladies and meeting you all would mean that something good could come out of this whole crappy TTC business Smile

X

poutintrout · 29/05/2012 20:41

Adjusts ladies wig, loses scouse accent & locks up the cab and raises a glass to our TTC 10 plussers.

So nice that some of our grads are here too. Hello kitty and mini and bubbas!

So hopelemons that the squits are a good sign for you too!

Wine My God you have been through it lately and a glass of wine is the least you deserve. I hope that you thoroughly enjoy it.

Waves to artemis

Agree with lemons that we need updates and reports from the meet preferably with photos Grin

ArtemisTheHunter · 29/05/2012 20:18

Hello all. Couldn't miss the virtual meet up! Am very Envy of those who could make it to the real thing and not just to check that no 10+er is actually a 47 year old Scouse trucker called Dave

Here with a brew, using all my imagination to pretend it's a G&T Smile

kittysaysmiaow · 29/05/2012 19:31

I have a choice of limonata or aranciata, let me know which you'd like Smile would go v well with a tot of vodka in I reckon Smile

CritterPants · 29/05/2012 19:10

And lemon, I really, really hope that you don't have an unwelcome visitor on Thursday. I was constantly mistaking bowel growls for impending AF during my long months without one showing up.

minipie · 29/05/2012 19:09

Just popping in to say hello and wave to the meet up albeit virtually! Ginger beer is my non alcoholic tipple of choice.

Hope you're all doing well. Best of luck to everyone and hope to see you on the 6+ months graduates thread very very soon x

CritterPants · 29/05/2012 19:07

Haha! Yes, and a sparkly knob poking out of the pocket would be another dead giveaway! Grin

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 29/05/2012 19:03

Oh yes, wine I hope we can count on princess for the feathers. Was it not her who coined that particular phrase? Shame pout is a chicken like me, because the negative pee sticks in pockets were her idea, I think...

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 29/05/2012 19:02

PS critter love your secret and dangerous hobbying :) 20 strangers writing poetry. And your DH lets you go there by yourself...

Btw the scary day for me is not Friday T-day, but surviving without a visit until then. And with the slightly more mobile bowels, I keep thinking it is starting already. Not yet. But normally due on Thursday. Of course I am on a course all of Thursday. So that will mean plenty of tampons in the bag, and emergency pad wearing, to avoid having to scuttle out in unseemly fashion...

whereismywine · 29/05/2012 19:01

Oo it's like a proper party now. Grin someone must be checking mumsnet whilst in a group of mumsnetters?! I hope someone wore a tail feather and pee stick badge.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 29/05/2012 18:56

Hmm, pass me one kitty that is better than tea :)

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 29/05/2012 18:56

Cheers - Brew with my cup of tea after kitty's encouragement I am thinking slightly sheepishly of the generous amounts of white wine I drank all weekend. It was very nice, chilled wine on a terrace and after a long cycle ride I felt I deserved it. Anyhow, I am not feeling different enough to be allowed hope. So shush....

Have a good time 10+ers, meeting up NOW!!

And OMG wine you have been through the mill. So sorry about the nasty results and side effects. I cannot believe how much s**t your fugitive has thrown in your path to a now more than ever deserved win!

Waves and WE NEED REPORTS :)

whereismywine · 29/05/2012 18:53

That actually sounds very nice kitty! For non drink month I may design my own mocktails line.

kittysaysmiaow · 29/05/2012 18:49

Ok I am toasting with a San pellegrino limonata - kisses to all 10+ers mwah!

whereismywine · 29/05/2012 18:38

Lemon - are you partying? Biscuit

whereismywine · 29/05/2012 18:38

Yay! I'm sipping on a very nice New Zealand Chardonnay. Give us one of your crisps!

Cheers to all 10 plussers in the capital and across the globe. We are amazing and strong and lovely.

CritterPants · 29/05/2012 18:18

wine I am right here with you! No Wine because thanks to the pesky time difference, it is only lunchtime here and I'm sneakily posting at work should have brought a hip flask - but I do have a Brew and two bags of crisps! It's a party! Grin

whereismywine · 29/05/2012 18:11

The Wine has arrived. Rumour has it it's rich in iron. Not drinking it yet though!

whereismywine · 29/05/2012 18:09

Thanks critter it's all been a bit epic! Hopefully things will settle down soon. You made me Smile about the daiquiris. Enjoy the retreat, I bet that's a very cathartic hobby.

I'm sorry I missed a few people out earlier and I don't like doing that. My memory is shocking right now. Feeble wave to gin, Joyce, mrsd, artemis and anyone else I left out!

Mr W has just popped out to get husband treat extra special wine. Lately I can make a bottle last 10 days (its not as ace by the end) which I'm pretty chuffed about. We are having a month of abstinence mid June to July just for laugh not with sperms or eggs in mind or anything like that so I will be toasting you online shortly. Someone else must surely come and join me?!

Oh and critter, I don't think there is a chance in one billion that I'm pregnant. We shagged with no intent on cd12 and I had the op on cd16. I don't think any embryo could possibly survive a jet wash and I hadn't shown any signs of ov. Oh well it will be a chance to see my mate One Line Wink
