I read up that only if it is severe endo they can on a scan, mild to moderate can't apparently.. Ive had a cyst back in January found when i had a scan after MC, it was 6cm, i had another scan early march and everything "appeared normal" with my ovaries!

Apparently with endo u get chocolate cysts that will appear on scans then they would do a laparoscopy to diagnose properly! Im really worried, but my periods have always been painful so i think even if i had it mild-moderate and its not picked up, maybe its nothing to worry about with already having DC? x

Read this:

www.patient.co.uk/health/Polycystic-Ovary-Syndrome.htm

This is exactly what my doctor said. And that PCOS actually is named incorrectly. But read that link up there. I have PCOS and if she was in any way concerned about it, she would have done something about it. She has been my regular gynae since I was 16 years old and she said I should have no fertility issues whatsoever

How common is polycystic ovary syndrome?
PCOS is common. Research studies of women who had an ultrasound scan of their ovaries found that up to 1 in 4 young women have polycystic ovaries (ovaries with many small cysts). However, many of these women were healthy, ovulated normally, and did not have high levels of male hormones.

However, it is thought that up to 1 in 10 women have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) - that is, at least two of: polycystic ovaries, a raised level of male hormone, reduced ovulation. However, these figures may be higher.

There is a difference between having polycystic ovaries and polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Throwing a spanner in the works here but they can't pick up endo without actually doing a laparoscopy or having surgery - I know the only way they found out that I was all clear was with my myomectomy. They'd cut me open and they could see then because they suspected it from when I was very young (painful AF and all that).

And cysts is that internal scan. I had PCOS (the syndrome) and they picked up cysts once and put me on the pill for a month to get rid of them. Nothing else since and because of the fibroids, I had internal scans every 3 months for 3 years.

What that means is that there IS a difference between PCOS and cysts from PCOS. You can be completely fine with the syndrome - it's when you get the cysts that you need to worry.

Sorry but I know because I have PCOS and I spent a lot of time worrying about endo so I had all the checks and stuff but neither of them are any fun. Plus with the fibroids and my gynae checked what she could but they won't pick up endo on a scan. Just so you know. If they say they can, they're not being entirely honest

xx

i have these threads to keep me from POAS every day and kicking your advice always helps me curb my insanity.

DH is so chilled and calm - its because hes not feeling any changes in his body, he just has to make sure his soldiers are ready every month.

I wish at times that our bodies would stop sending us these signals and signs that might not mean anything and then we can stop obsessing over it.

glad the docs were good everything fx for an all clear at the ultrasound too.

everythinghappensforareason · 21/05/2012 13:30

Ohh red i feel for you, worst part of the month. i do hope u have some great news for us very soon :)

doctors went great, my dr is fab! hes ordered an ultrasound for me in a few weeks. so if i have endo, cysts or anything else i will no :)

Hopefuly im all clear + can relax a little x

& im glad u pointed this out to us all kicking if pg symptoms are their poas haha!

Red - i had AF last Wednesday - 4 days late with every "symptom" possible.

DH and i have decided to DTD EOD and he had forbidden OV sticks this month

The ladies on here are to remind me next month that there are no symtoms and if there are symptoms, i can get a pg test because symptoms are caused by pg hormone. I hope i can maintain that there

good luck. Its rubbish :D

QueenOfTheRodeo · 21/05/2012 11:12

I'm CD8 at the mo so just starting on dtd. I will be the same as you in a week or so. You're doing so well holding off testing again though, doubt I could Smile

redstrawberry · 21/05/2012 11:06

yes queen it is pure hell. I wish I could block it all out.
Its difficult when all you keep dreaming about is a BFP and then AF will be such a blow.

How far along in your cycle are you?

QueenOfTheRodeo · 21/05/2012 10:25

Ah red the 2nd week of the 2ww is definitely the worst isn't it, its like so near but so far to finding out! Really hope it flys by for you.

redstrawberry · 21/05/2012 08:26

good luck at the doctors everything hope it goes well for you.

PS. kicking and pickled hows the 'no googling' working out? I have been good since yesterday and not googled or been on any sites to match symptoms. I am going to try to not think about it at all this week (hahaha - laughing at myself!).

redstrawberry · 21/05/2012 08:24

yes going to give it till Monday before I pee on a stick. AF due Fri / Sat.
I think I am going insane though. Feeling really hopeful every time I get a cramp or twinge and then reassuring myself that it will be okay to ttc again next month if its bfn. I never realized how hard this would be.

Still no symptoms that stand out from pre-AF ones. Just going to plod along with work this week till the evil witch arrives.

QueenOfTheRodeo · 20/05/2012 22:47

Hi ladies, haven't managed to get on here all day - been making the most of the nice weather by doing some gardening! Hate it!

Good luck at the doctors tomorrow everything - I'm sure everything will be fine Smile

kicking I love seeing my DH with babies too, absolutely can't wait to see him with our own.

red try to give it a few more days at least before you test so you're not disappointed. Its so hard though isn't it?

CD7 today here, af has finally left me - I've told DH to feel free to wake me up in the morning before he leaves if he feels like it Wink

everythinghappensforareason · 20/05/2012 20:31

Sounds like a great start to the month kicking :o

Im feeling okay red, of too see the gp tomorrow for some test results, i think im just being a little bit of a hypacondriact but convinced myself i have endrimiosis so having that ruled out :) i hope!!!!!

stay strong, and honestly wait aslong as possible before poas, good luck :o

redstrawberry · 20/05/2012 16:38

Tryin to keep it under control and told hubby to keep me away from the sticks! This week is going to be hard. Getting AF like feeling!
How you feelingeverything? X

everythinghappensforareason · 20/05/2012 14:01

Hi Ladies, all gone very quiet :( hehe. Hopefully that means we are all keeping busy?

OP posts:
QueenOfTheRodeo · 19/05/2012 18:42

Agreed ladies! Looking forward to a chilled month ahead Smile

What is everyone up to this weekend?

KickingUpQuestions · 19/05/2012 15:55

agree. Google is not allowed.

and we err on the side of not pregnant until AF doesn't arrive

job done

redstrawberry · 19/05/2012 14:09

Gutted for you everythingSad
I have stopped checking symptoms n def going to follow it through this time on the 2ww. A very relaxed approach next month if it doesn't work this month.

I actually dont feel too upset if it was bfn. Hearing your stories and seeing as its my first cycle if I did get a bfn it will just mean I can drink wine next month. Looking at the positives Grin

PickledFanjoCat · 19/05/2012 14:00

Im with you ladies on the next 2ww we must make a pact not to be mentalists!

My personal vow is to stop googling!

everythinghappensforareason · 19/05/2012 13:30

Im not to bad with the babies, its pregnant women, the big bumps. i miss mine sooo bad!

They are right though kicking - it will happen :) I concieved my son when i least expected. and at that time never bothered with opk's n all that. and didn't bother testing untill the evening on the day AF was due :)

Going to try this for june, maybe june is my time, that is when DS was concieved. (convincing myself i will again)

OP posts:
QueenOfTheRodeo · 19/05/2012 12:32

You're right kicking about there being no symptoms... if we had pregnancy symptoms then we would get BFPs! I promise that this month I won't test until right before af and if I get BFNs I won't torture myself with 'but what if the test is wrong' etc.

Enjoy seeing your niece! Lots of friends of mine have young babies and it sends my broodiness through the roof!

KickingUpQuestions · 19/05/2012 12:25

my brother is coming down for tonight and bringing my one month old niece.

my family know we are ttc. i get a lot of "relax and it will happen". mainly from people with babies or kids or one on the way.

overwhelming feedback though is relax and have lots of sex.

i find my husband very sexy so we dtd a bit. in fact we are going to try eod isn't of every day in case we are killing his swimmers :D
