Thanks everything In two minds. Used to have regular 25 day cycles with 12 day LP. However, although cycle length has remained as before, I'm really not sure about LP and concerned that it is shorter. I had all the ovulation signs straight after my AF and then again about a week later so no idea this cycle really...

everythinghappensforareason · 10/05/2012 19:49

Ive only used Cheapy 1s i buy them from amazon, thought they where aload of rubish at 1st, as the day they came there i was straight in the loo testing getting a negative, was so sure i was ovulating, but a day later i got my positive, recently learnt that some of the time all these ov symptoms actualy happen before hand + when everythings settled the eggy makes it way down, think thats y they are a goof idea, because u never no for sure :)

I am using the Boots tests. Its driving me dilly!! But thanks for you replies. They are helping to calm the madness

CountryKitty · 10/05/2012 17:47

Hi Kicking 3 days before is still really early - you're not out yet! I'd keep testing but maybe leave it 2 days as HCG is meant to double approx every 48 hours. I know easier said than done! What tests have you been using? If internet cheapies, I find they don't show until way after, where as Superdrug/ FRER & Clearblue will pick up earlier (but not necessarily 3 days early). Goodluck! x

KickingUpQuestions · 10/05/2012 17:33

I have been testing. I got a BFN this morning but it's 3 days still until AF.

I guess I may as well test every day until Sunday?

Then console myself with wine?

CountryKitty · 10/05/2012 17:28

@ Aday - i too have the funny 'ovulation'/tugging/scratchy pains and Im pretty sure I had these when pg before (the things we can convince ourselves with!!) I also have very veiny/tingly nipples but am discounting these as have had them constantly since 1st got pg in jan :( . My boobs are also a wee bit sore which, for me, doesn't bode well for AF next week but I'm going to stay positive and try to ignore them. When's everyone testing? Who's first?

KickingUpQuestions · 10/05/2012 16:40

I heard the laptop thing is bad for men. It's meant to be ok for laydees though?

Fingers crossed for the next test. When you doing it?

Goodyhoo · 10/05/2012 16:29

Thanks for all the helpful ov advice ladies :), probably ought to pay a bit more attention & make more effort, as its well worth it as we know, & Cartoonface will soon find out :o!

No symptoms of any kind to report here :(, although was having very regular cycles when fell with DD, had no 2ww symptoms and day AF was due & day after I had very strong clear 'AF has arrived' pains/feelings and kept going to loo convinced she'd be there. By 3 days late couldn't stand not knowing, poas got a very strong +tive line on chemist cheepy test (I was convinced it would be false so didn't want to waste £) DH went out & bought CBlue test to be sure! So maybe my body just doesn't do symptoms. I didn't get any breast pain or tiredness with 1st pg. So I'll keep hopeful!!

Any symptom updates to report Ladies?

Also, does anyone think sitting with laptop on lap for long periods of time might be bad idea or am I just stupid? Hmm

xx

Gillinthesticks · 10/05/2012 15:02

Goodyhoo I used the CB Fertility monitor for both of my last pregnancies/miscarriages so am a big fan particularly because my cycle is anywhere between 21 and 29 days so I'm never sure when I'm going to OV Hmm They're not cheap and you need to buy new sticks every couple of months, but it's meant to be more reliable because it tracks two different hormones not just LH levels ... Anyway fingers crossed it's third time lucky for us ... I'm currently 6DPO so have decided to test on Wednesday next week ... it'll be our wedding anniversary so it'll either be a BFP which we can go out and celebrate (with an Appletiser for me!) or BFN in which case I'll get to enjoy the Wine list! Grin Only experiencing imaginary symptoms so far!!

Sorry to hear about your mc Cartoonface I know what you mean about dying to be pregnant though, it's all I can think about and everyone seems to be announcing pregnancies at the minute!! Fingers crossed this will be a lucky month for us all!

KickingUpQuestions · 10/05/2012 13:18

I lied. I've had 2 positive OPK's in 8months with 28 day cycles. Bang on 28 days. And I've had ovulation spotting the last two months - which apparently, coupled with the regularity of my cycles, means I am very fertile

KickingUpQuestions · 10/05/2012 13:16

I started a new thread detailing all the random symptoms so I am not going to rehash them. I'm new here but have lurked a bit.

I am 10dpo today and should know on Saturday for sure. I am regular to the hour but have only ever had three positive OPK's in the 8 months we've been trying.

I've read scientific accounts that say if you get a temperature increase, you're more than likely too late. That CM is the way to accurately test because the temperature increase happens AS you ovulate.

I also read that 70% of women will ovulate before day 10 and after day 17 and of those, 68% conceive within 6 months.

And that OPK's can miss ovulation if the LH surge only lasts 4 hours.

I have read a lot.

Adayforthinking · 10/05/2012 13:11

As the day has gone on, a few little OV type twinges (at 7DPO) and some weird twinges in boobs.

But all fairly normal I'm sure (trying not to get excited...).

Adayforthinking · 10/05/2012 13:09

I was one of the lucky MNers who had a FREE CB Digitest when they first came out and I got a 'Pregnant' and a '3+ Weeks' in the Conception Window - that resulted in DD!!

So clearly I'm going to recommend them...

HOWEVER after a few days, the result disappears. So don't think it's one that you can keep in your 'Memory' box. Smile

CountryKitty · 10/05/2012 12:27

HaHa know what you mean about the digi tests! I've never done one either but will (being positive) get one next time I get a BFP! I hate it when you test early and are squinting at the line thinking you're imagining things!

Being sick sounds positive. FX

everythinghappensforareason · 10/05/2012 11:29

Hii Guys :o Im 5DPO. I'm Trying (failing) not to symptom spot. Only thing giving me potentially false hope is when i was drinking at the weekend i was sick, wasn't untill the next day i was sitting thinking about how i never be sick when drinking + the last time i threw up of alcohol was when pg (un aware) with DS!Hmm
Also had heart burn yesterday but i think that was a smoothie haha, im sure its impossible to have heart hurt at what would have been 4DPO haha!

Sorry for your losses ladies :( we went through 1 in Jan, at 8weeks. + im pretty sure ive had a CP since, i had faints on test then AF showed up early :/ all very odd!

I think i will cave too with testing, going too wait as long as possible though!

Is it just me or is anyone else really wanting too take a digital test just too see it spelled out :o i didn't think too take 1 with DS, he was a suprise, and i wasn't obsessed with testing back then haha!

how are we all doing today, any symptoms??

CountryKitty · 10/05/2012 09:49

I'm glad to hear everyone elses other half appears disinterested with the 2ww! DH just does not get it and thinks I'm mad to obsess about it so much.

Our first DC was a total surprise and we only found out about 8 weeks Blush . DC2 was conceived the first month trying, as were the two mc this year. I know we've been incredibly lucky so far but DC2 is now 4 and we're a bit older now. Our previous conceptions have left us with unrealistic expectations (which although aware of, we still have!) and I'm terrified that it's gonna take ages to conceive again and after the mc's just really want to be PREGNANT NOW!!!

I've never had to pay any attention to cycles/ 2ww before so driving myself mad now. Thank goodness for mn!

No other symptoms to speak of, just the tugging pains as before, and don't know if this is something that happens every month or not. Aargh! How's everyone else symptom spotting going?

cartoonface · 10/05/2012 09:20

Men are useless, its very hard not to think about it constently. goody we are trying for our first child. So I'm not only impatient with my now one week wait. But dying to be preg again after mc.

Adayforthinking · 10/05/2012 09:11

Hello everyone,

Well 7DPO today so am starting to symptom spot and I can report NOTHING - NADA!! Oh well! It is still only 7DPO afterall!

Goody, the best way to work out when you OV is by temping. Search for a website called Fertility Friend. It allows you to track your cycle through temping and identify your fertile time. Unfortunately it's only when you get a sudden increase in temperature that you will know you have OVd. So it's more a way of tracking it in time for the following month. So you know for future.

Other than that EWCM is the way forward! Even the (very lucky Envy) ladies who don't usually get much CM will often notice EWCM which comes around 24-48 hours before OV (sometimes longer before so just start DTD from when you see EWCM).

There are also Ovulation tests but I don't rate them at all. Neither time that I got PG did I get +ive on the OPKs. I think they're a bit hit and miss TBH.

Anyway hun, hope that helps!!

As for your other question, DH was never particularly interested in the 2ww for DD either! He never particularly wanted kids but of course he adores her now, hence why we're having DC#2. But when it comes to the whole process, he doesn't even think about it and just thinks it'll happen when it happens. I think women tend to obsess but men don't...

Goodyhoo · 09/05/2012 22:31

Hi all, :)

Had really busy day at work today so not had chance to obsess ponder possibility of being pg! But all 'funny feelings'/pains/spotting seem to have gone. Not really sure whether this is good or bad sign but you do hear about women who's 1st sign of pg is labour Hmm, so who knows?

Not wanting to be too pessimistic but what signs of ov should I look for next month, if it comes to that? I've only ever really thought of it as roughly mid days of cycle, cd15ish, but maybe I'm missing some other signs. Any suggestions?

As most of us seem to be ttc#2+ (cartoonface not sure of you DC 'status') has anyone else noticed DP seems less interested during 2ww stage than when ttc#1? Hmm Thank goodness for MN!

Anyway, wishing you all lots of healthy distraction during the 2ww, if only to keep us sane (hopefully yours will be more exciting than work!) xx

Gillinthesticks · 09/05/2012 15:01

Hi! Can I join you ladies too?

We are TTC baby number 2 after two miscarriages and I'm currently 5 DPO ... good to hear I'm not the only one obsessing about it!

In two minds about whether to test early or like Adayforthinking said wait until a week after AF so if I an early miscarriage I won't be any the wiser. I suspect my willpower will crumble before then though!! :)

Good luck everyone ... hopefully there will be lots of BFP updates at the end of the 2WW!

CountryKitty · 09/05/2012 14:33

Hi all - can I join too?

Sorry to hear about the MC's. I've had two since january also - so unfair & horrible & totally messes with your head.

We have 2DC but can't remember what symptoms I had with them - not helpful! Not too sure when ovulated, but AF due next Wednesdayish. Also on 2nd cycle since last mc. Only 'symptom' so far is niggly/ sharp pains on both sides similar to ov pains. Goodluck to everyone!
