everything

That's interesting - although, I have no idea where my cervix is anyway so I wouldn't have a clue! :D

My question is probably more to do with how like...swollen inside is. My DH notices when we DTD - VERY much notices. I would have a problem with using tampons if AF did arrive. It's very, very engorged...

TMI I know

Sorry

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 11:48

DH said Google said it's pregnancy but you never, ever know with Google.

I thought it would be best to see if anyone else know.

Oh and I just tried to Google it and I am sure I can get sacked with some of the answers... :D

everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 11:47

Found this on internet kicking - "After ovulation, your cervix will drop lower in your vagina and feel firm, like the tip of your nose. During pregnancy, the cervix will rise a bit and become softer, but the timing of this happening will vary from woman to woman. For some, this will happen shortly before their period is due, but for other, this will not happen until quite a while after their pregnancy has been confirmed.

Due to this variation between women, checking the position of your cervix to determine pregnancy is not a reliable indication of whether or not your are pregnant. More reliable ways to find out if you are pregnant is take a sensitive home pregnancy test or by visiting your doctor for a pregnancy blood test."

everything

YAY we should know about the same time! We're going to test every morning but we've only recently moved so we're going to register with a GP on Thursday night and then take it from there (if I've not come on yet)

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 11:39

Yep and the trouble with temps is that by the time you get the spike, you have ovulated!

I am not sure what my cervix is but there is a lot of very squishy, very tight stuff and then something very hard and round.

Adayforthinking · 15/05/2012 11:38

Hi all,

Sorry Pickled that the witch got you. But good positive vibes for next month. Get on the temping bus with me! Smile

Well, it should be 12DPO for me but I'm not convinced now that I OVd when I think or did or whether I OVd at all! Normally I get stained CM a few days before but nothing. A spotty chin and some cramping yesterday but that was it. Looking back through my old Fertility Friend charts, some of my cycles were 35 days, so I really have no idea what's happening.

I'll just wait for AF to arrive and then start from CD1 properly.

xx

everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 11:27

yes kicking you can get a surge, without actualy ovulating! the instructions state "this is a good sign you will ovulate" nothings certain though, don't even think temps are, its all just good indications! and for most is accurate :)

everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 11:26

Aww so sorry pickle but lots of luck next month!!

Good luck too u too happilymarried, i wish i had your will power.

I will be testing Thurs or Fri now, whenever my tests arrive. AF due Sat!

I feel quite happy in myself, and apart from yesterday had a few mild cramps, i don't have AF symptoms, mine usualy start a few days b4, i get break-outs, moody-ness etc! nada though, and BFN on cheapy tests, unless evaps count haha!

kicking when PG with DS, my bits swelled, although this happened much later on for me(third trimester) but could well be a symptom. Your cervix is supost to feel different, like the end of ure nose a midwife told me, and when not pg it feels like when u press ure lips together!!

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 11:20

I could be wrong but you wouldn't get the surge if you don't ovulate?

How late were you this month?

PickledFanjoCat · 15/05/2012 11:10

I have and I got that but right at the end.

I think that I`ll have to start temping, just to make sure I am ovulating. I get the LH surge each moth so I know I am gearing up for it, just need to make sure its happening.

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 11:09

OH sorry Pickled :(
I am going to get the all out stuff for next cycle. Pre-seed and fertility kits and everything. DH is happy for that too :D

That sucks. I am thinking maybe I just ovulated later or something as well?

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 11:08

Happily - today is day 3...

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 11:07

Pickled - if you don't ovulate, you do bleed but it's not TECHNICALLY an AF because it's not the lining of the womb and all that. My gynae said that you can tend to bleed for a bit longer though. You also aren't regular.

Maybe I had an anovulatory cycle last month? I just don't get why I wouldn't have ANY AF symptoms prior to AF but on day of AF and later, I am getting very tender boobs

Also - has anyone been pregnant before? My lady bits inside are very swollen and almost engorged. TMI coming up but I doubt I could use a tampon if AF did arrive. DH said the God of Google reckons it's a pg symptom - have had it for a while now. And no - we're not DTD (he is scared it will abort if there is anything up there) and I don't have any infections or any weird

Happilymarried155 · 15/05/2012 10:55

Everything I'm hoping to hold out until Friday-I really hope I do! My cycle is normally between 29-32 days, today is day 29. I really don't want to get into analysing everything and testing early because il send myself crazy. I'm trying to keep busy and not think about it. I don't tend to get any symptoms of AF until it actually arrives so it's just a waiting game now!! Anyone else testing on Friday?

Kicking how late are you now? X

PickledFanjoCat · 15/05/2012 10:49

AF has arrived. Maybe will temp this month then to get a clearer picture whats going on, but as I got the positive OPK a couple of days late it sort of makes sense that AF was late too. It gave me a 37 day cycle.

homeaway · 15/05/2012 10:35

You can still get af even if you have not ovulated ( annovulatory cycle). It is easy to see on a temp chart your temp would be up and down with no clear shift, whereas a normal chart would be lower temps pre ovulation with a rise after then a drop for af.

everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 10:09

When i had a CP, first response picked it up really early around 9DPO, quite a good line aswel, and the CB plus! I think it just varies with everyone.
But in my experience internet cheapys r a waste, ive never got a good line with them when ive been preg, never had more than an evap, and they supposidly pick up 10miu!

I don't feel AF'y today :) 4days away, but still usualy getting a little moody by now, had twinges in right boob last night + sorry for tmi had a little diareeahBlush this is a good sign for me, as with DS i had this a week before af was due, was my 1st symptom, although my bowls have a mind of there own most of the time, so can't get too exited!!

When is everyone testing now:o???

OP posts:
PickledFanjoCat · 15/05/2012 09:48

kicking its a minefield isnt it. Last time I had a super faint line on an internet cheapie, which was the allegedly most sensitive test I had and the same day really strong positives on less sensitive tests.

PickledFanjoCat · 15/05/2012 09:47

Oh and I have def AF symptoms, sore boobs, vile mood sat water retention etc etc.

PickledFanjoCat · 15/05/2012 09:46

If you dont ovulate do you get no AF at all? Its never happened to me before, Ive always had one!

Im sure its nothing too much to worry about, everyone has a freaky cycle now and again, but Ive got a new CBFM and I am itching to start using it and get on with a new cycle.

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 09:42

It depends - the First Response older version is very sensitive and picks up like 8mIU. The later versions pick up 25mIU.

Superdrug picks up 10mIU and Clear Blue picks up 25mIU

In the first week of pregnancy, you can be from 5mIU - 50mIU.

What this means is that the level of pregnancy hormone in your blood needs to be higher the higher the test. So the old version of First Response (I can't find it in Boots or Superdrug so it's not the standard one they sell now) is the best. Second should be Superdrug.

The other funny thing is that they take the tests based on the blood tests the women get after a positive. So if I test now on the Superdrug one, and go to the doctors in two days time and they test - whatever the blood level is is the level they advertise their sensitivity at.

For that reason, the advertised numbers on the packets may test at a lower sensitivity. It's not an exact science.

Which is rubbish :D

homeaway · 15/05/2012 09:40

Pickle, you may not have ovulated just after your pos opk as an opk just indicates a rise in lh and does not mean that you have ovulated. You can sometimes gear up to ovulate and then for whatever reason ( stress etc.. ) your body decides not to. If you are charting then you will be able to see if your pos opk falls in line with your pos opk . Charting will give you lots more info about what is going on. If your cycle goes on much later and you are sure you are not pregnant then i think you ask the dr for something to bring on af. hth.

PickledFanjoCat · 15/05/2012 09:31

Did you do another this morning kicking

From what Ive read the First Response are supposed to be really good at picking up pregnancy early.

Still no news here as well! CD 38 now!

everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 09:29

I will keep taking them, sometime wonder if its worth it? i don't no, managed to concieve DS with out all this and inbetween booze up's! I always say, if it's going to happen, it'll happen, but i will take them + see haha!

I'm not to sure what that is either, maybe see your GP ? x
