Nurse just phoned.

HCG is only 32.

I'm supposed to be 4 + 3 today.

Google says normal range for 4 +3 is 400-1000, and average is 700.
Even if i ov'd late and was only 4 today seems it should be between 50 and 100. But if I was really late i couldn't have got the positive tests on thursday and friday last week and it still only be 32 today if it is doubling iyswim.

Does anyone have any experience please?

Nurse didn't say much, just asked if i'd had any bleeding or pain today and to wait till wednesday.

I don't want to tell my DH, he's been through so much already

Afternoon everyone,

I've just had a long think about my mmc for the first time in ages, because ed sheerans released this song little bump the last sentence really struck a chord, its beautiful, and obviously about pregnancy loss. I just wanted to share it with you all.

Xxx

pebspop · 21/05/2012 16:38

try not to panic jaffa. it's totally normal to not feel the baby at 15 weeks.

that appointment would scare me if it reminds you of the past experience. try to chill out if you can it's onyl a couple more days.

your hospitals sounds really bad grand and boris i am lucky mine seems pretty good so far.

JaffaSnaffle · 21/05/2012 16:14

boris, good luck with the hcg results. I am sorry you had such a carry on to get them.

Thinking about you mumtum. Not long to go now. Big hugs.

I am in a bit of a state. No reason, other than pure and simple metalling. I cannot feel thd baby move, which I know is normal at 15 weeks. I know. But I am flapping anyway. I have a MW appointment on Thurs, where they will check for the heartbeat. This was the start if the signs that things were wrong with the 17 wk mc. I cannot tell you how scared I am of this appointment. I hate hate hate dopplers. And I do have to go to the scan on my own next week. It could only be arranged for 2 wks later, so a bit pointless really.

Also, my ever fertile friend has announced she is expecting her 4th child (her eldest is still 4), in November. I told her about my pregnancy too. But now I keep thinking if when things go wrong, I'll have to keep being happy for her when I am grieving. I know it would necessarily happen, but it might, and it is scary.

GrandPoohBah · 21/05/2012 16:08

God, you were treated dreadfully, I'm not surprised that you're not happy with the idea of continuing treatment with them.

It's so difficult because I found that they were much better with everything for me than PRUH were, so I'm finding I'm getting better treatment there. The consultant I'm under (Mr Booker) for recurrent miscarriage has been great, although I did bypass the usual system and self refer to him as it was all taking too long and I'd already had a BFP so I wanted the testing done NOW.

Where do you think you'll end up? A friend of mine had her baby via ELCS at Lewisham and said they were very good (I think they had IVF there too) but I've heard bad things about there too. I didn't really rate Tommy's when I went to the EPU there, but the staff at Kings were lovely when we found out about the last MMC.

Just realised how many hospitals I've been to in this journey... That's not all of them Sad

WhyAlwaysBoris · 21/05/2012 15:42

I decided to go to croydon as it was the nearest, & ignored their terrible reputation too. I now know it is richly deserved. Have you read my thread in aibu about it? Other posters say some interesting things about them too....

OP posts:
GrandPoohBah · 21/05/2012 15:35

Boris, that's really odd because I've just changed from PRUH to Croydon - I know it has a terrible reputation but honestly I've had much better care from there than I did from Princess Royal.

The EPU is in a bloody stupid place though, it's tucked away behind the service buildings. They get your HCG blood results back quickly, IIRC - I think I had it done first thing and then got a call from them that afternoon.

farfallarocks · 21/05/2012 15:32

Wonderful news manda you have been such a source of support and information to all of us on here, I am so pleased you have got your happy ending!!

martha I had exactly the same at your stage, it lated for 5 days and got progressively worse, even one wipe of red and I was convinced it was all over again as that is how my chemicals started. However the difference was I had no cramps. Fingers crossed!

tiago could it have been discharge? I seem to be getting that lots and it has me rushing to the loo to check its not red!

WhyAlwaysBoris · 21/05/2012 15:04

GPB spat tea out over my computer laughing at 'pubic viewing area'.

Please don't worry, if hospitals being inefficient were prophetic in any way i'd be dead. It is amazing how rubbish they can be, and glad you cottoned on to it and went somewhere better. Well done. It doesn't mean anything bad for the baby.

My big mistake has been trying to stick with Croydon University Hosp when in reality they are just the shittiest hosptial in the world evidence here

Today i went to the epu there for blood tests, checked where to go on the big map at the main entrance but when i got there-no epu. Wandered around for ages. Someone sent me to maternity thinking it had moved there, wandered around there too, couldn't find it.

Then someone else sent me to antenatal which was hard as where i found out the baby had died. Still couldn't find it. Ended up in tears. A nice nurse pointed to the right building from the car park.

Got there over an hour after arriving at the hospital. Every single bloody sign in that place is wrong. Its not as if people go to EPU for a laugh, they goes because they are worried, and could do without wandering around for an hour first.

Apparently EPU moved to its current location two years ago but they haven't changed the signs yet.

Waiting for my hcg result- nurse didn't seem very confident- test still shows a very faint line- she said 'really we call this a shadow rather than a line'- will have another one in 48 hours. Will have to grit my teeth to go- I absolutely bloody hate that place now.

martha - thanks for the invite to the VIP area!! Am glad your gunk is clearing too - so it mine

Sorry for briefest of posts - DS3 screaming blue murder and I have to get out go and do something to stop him!!!

MandaHugNKiss · 21/05/2012 14:21

marbles Just to be certain, did these come from your... kitchen?! Grin

mumtum Holding you in my thoughts. In theory, I'm sure you can have another scan if that's what you really need - but it may well be a case of they'll cancel your current slot for the erpc, book you a scan and then rebook the erpc. It's worth asking what the protocol is, you never know they may just be able to slot you in for a two minute check before your scheduled surgery.

Hooray for brown gunk vanishing marff - certainly sounds like implantation... oh, and stop waking the blimming baby, jeeze! Grin

GrandPoohBah · 21/05/2012 14:16

Ugh. I'm having crazy pregnant lady metalling.

I changed hospitals a few weeks ago because I got pissed off at the uselessness of my original team, and was told that the existing bookings should be cancelled.

I got a call this morning from the original hospital's antenatal team asking me where I was as I had an appointment with them. I said I thought everything had been cancelled, and got an indrawn breath and an 'oh, I'm so sorry, don't worry, I'll take you off our list', . And now I'm panicking because she thought that I'd miscarried and what if it's fate?

Fuck, I'm actually like a crazy. Still, three days till I find out if it's still going ok. I wish I had a viewing panel in my pubic area. It'd make life MUCH easier.

MarthasHarbour · 21/05/2012 12:32

i have booked my MW referral appointment on Friday morning Shock

it all just feels so real

MarthasHarbour · 21/05/2012 12:31

mumtum i think you should just tell them all that you have told us about your existent symptoms. i just know i would feel exactly the same.

MumTumWanted · 21/05/2012 10:06

Morning all

Thank u to all of u for the erpc and scan advise what im surmising then is it will prob be a No to a scan unless I start bleeding in which case I wouldn't then need one as I'd know it was all overConfused > I think im finding it so hard to accept as everything was still intact no collapsing sac nothing add that I've had no pain or bleeding and I've got full symptoms again just seems impossible that I'm not. In fact if I'd had no scans I'd still firmly be believing I'm 9 weeks preg Sad and my nt scan papers came through this morning 15 th June Sad And I'd be getting all nervy about that.

Just so want to believe that by some miracle they may have got it wrong though I know they probably haven't ....Or they wouldn't have booked the erpc right?

Bluecrane I get what your saying about the ic cheapies and have just ordered some after my mc in dec it took 7 weeks for the Hcg to finally appear as negative I hope it's not the same this time Hmm

Marf I'm glad you are feeling more upbeat with the brown goo I'm sure it's just implantation

Midget hope u do stick around

Boris how's things with u ?

On phone again so trying to remember all as I can't scroll Angry

Morning ladiesGrin

Have a great Monday Grin

Dorita75 · 20/05/2012 22:40

I had a scan before it mumtum because I'd passed a little clot the day before and thought that was it, so the scanned me. I hadn't but the nurse was lovely, and did say the sac was starting to break down.

Take a good book with you on Weds in case you're waiting. I took a week & half off work afterwards which was just enough for me, you'll prob feel tired the first day or too, from anesthetic if nothing else so try and keep a day or 2 free for some sleep if you can. Hope it all goes well, will be thinking of you.

kirrinIsland · 20/05/2012 22:38

I also didn't have a scan before my erpc, but the no heartbeat was confirmed by a second sonographer at the original scan, so I guess it wasn't necessary.
I had a couple of days off work, but tbh, I felt ok the next day, apart from the bleeding.

NoMoreMarbles · 20/05/2012 22:10

martha glad the gunge is tailing off...could be the bean burrowing deep down ready for the long haulSmile thanks for the baby dust...not started yetWink im eating M&Ms and watching the voice i will rub the magic baby dust on our kitchen floor bed in a bit thoughGrinGrin

WhyAlwaysBoris · 20/05/2012 22:06

Hi Mumtum I really wanted another scan as i hadn't had my glasses with me (stupid!!) at the 20 week scan when they picked up the baby had died and i couldn't see the screen very well and i just somehow couldn't believe it, (probably shock). I asked about ten times if i could have one, but no go. I hope you have more luck but prepare yourself just in case they won't. Hope you are doing OK this evening.

Pebs very glad you are staying around :)

I'm still in denial. No bleeding, so we'll see. Had 3 dreams last night that i was bleeding heavily, waking up being upset. In the end i just got up.

Opened the letter i got from the hosptial to see that they have moved me from august to july but the appointment is now not with the consultant but some junior person. Now understand why the secretary did not ring me. Really cross. Started an aibu about it and got some really good advice though, thank God for MN in general and you all in particular xx

Envy Envy Wink

MarthasHarbour · 20/05/2012 21:50

mumtum i really dont know but you are not 'stupid' because i would feel exactly the same way, i would want to see absolute proof before going down the ERPC route, and if you are not bleeding then, well lets just say i am totally with you so demand ask for a scan.

marbles i am so pleased that you are enjoying your new job, i know things have been crap up in the air for you job wise lately so brilliant news and thrilled that you are in your happy place

ConfusedMumDotCom · 20/05/2012 21:49

Hi mumtum I had another scan before they started the EPRC, but I knew it was all over as I believe I passed it all naturally two hours before the procedure. I guess I was "lucky" in a way as my mc did not hurt and was not very bloody. The hospital did the EPRC anyway, just to make sure. My big fear was that the mc would happen naturally before I got to hospital, but it wasn't was bad as I had thought it would be. Hang in there, wednesday will be here soon. I'm 3 weeks past my mc and beginning to see more light than dark.

Midgetm · 20/05/2012 21:48

Mumtum just a quickie. Don't think they do rescan as they only send you when sure but I am not 100% on that. Often wondered myself.

The anaesthetic can wipe you out a bit and your tummy feels a bit blown up sometimes but I have had EROC and been back at work 2 days later. Wouldn't advise it but physically I was ok. Other times I have taken the week off. I find them pretty straight forward and just make me a but sore.

beat go, just didn't want to read and ignore. Data roaming will catch me. Night night.
