De-lurking to say good luck to mumtum for tomorrow and what you did today was right. You needed to know for your own peace of mind; you should feel no guilt. I am glad the GP is referring you too.

leedy great news on the scan front.

Welcome to the new ladies - sorry you find yourselves here but they are a great bunch.

boris i have everything crossed that you have a slow burner

manda congratulations on the baby

me? i think i am still pregnant, according to doctor i am 8 weeks today. feel sick, ache and tired; no proper bleeding. DH has offered an early scan; i am too scared. I still have not got an appointment for my 12 week scan. Don't think i want one anyway. What if nothing is there? or there is no heartbeat? why did i think i can do this?!

Anyway enough madness from me. Thinking of you, even those not mentioned. Oh and martha glad you got an early booking in appointment!

ConfusedMumDotCom · 22/05/2012 20:44

Hi mumtum just a quickie to say I'm thinking of you. Good luck tomorrow.

Jollyb · 22/05/2012 20:18

Hi all - thanks for the warm welcome.
Mumtum - I don't blame you for wanting a second scan. My first scan was in the private sector and so as a matter of course i was rescanned when I was referred in to the EPU. I'm not sure I'd have been happy having an ERPC without confirmation by a second scan.

As for the ERPC - it was much less traumatic than I expected. I was admitted at 7am and discharged by 11.30am. Had light bleeding for around 10 days after but no pain. Will be thinking of you

pebspop · 22/05/2012 18:26

My hospital test for molar as a matter of course. I had to fight a bit for genetic testing on the last mc. I would ask tomorrow if I were you.

Good news about your gp. You can join my waiting for tests club now. Five weeks sounds about right for blood tests. If can take a while to get the results - maybe six weeks if you have karyotpying done. I would recommend the book by Lesley regan it's my bible!

WhyAlwaysBoris · 22/05/2012 18:10

Leedy those are brilliant statistics :)

Mumtum glad you were at least able to get reassurance about the need for the erpc. Will be thinking of you. I hope it is a relief after all you have been through.

Really good that you are going to get some help from the recurrent mc specialist. Well done for asking.

I seem to remember that someone on the thread once said that Prof Regan's book says (third degree info!) that all loses should be tested, even early ones.

Hopefuly someone knows more than me about that.

I have had really bad pains last hour or so, keep thinking i'm about to start bleeding but haven't yet.

Have to go back to Croy Hosp tomorrow for another blood test, slightly worried i'll get lynched the moment i walk though the door.

Lots of drama on my other thread buy no actual appointment with the consultant yet.

Jaffa Doritos Martha and leedy thank u it's nice to have your support and GrinGrinGrinfor excellent young and nubile nt results needy I'm so so pleased for you Smile

And to all you ladies for not chastising me after my porky telling this morning I truly am grateful that you haven't banned me from the thread I don't know where woman got support before mn truly I don't!

Boris I briefly read your other thread and am shocked and horrified I don't know what to suggest but I don't blame u for avoiding the reporters! Safely hide in Marthas gruffalo cave for a bit we will all protect and support you xxx

I'm a little amazed myself after leaving the hosp after my scan my mum suggested going to my gp and asking if they could do anything to encourage the epu that I have had 3 mc if u include the cp in march last year. ( my epu flatly refused to consider this) which is heartbreaking as I feel I have now had 3 all of which stopped growing between 5-6 weeks surely there must be something in that ?!?! Anyhow on the off chance called the gp who said to pop in at 5.30 tonight though my regular gp wasn't in so I'd see another partner who has been surly and offish in the past. Needless to say I didn't hold out much hope but I hold my hands up. Went in all strong explained my history and current circumstances and she totally agreed was very encouraging about being investigated further and has instantly referred me via choose and book to the recurrent mc specialist at my hospital. She has also preordered blood tests ( have to have these in 5 weeks when things gave settled after the erpc) to get the ball rolling. Quite frankly I'm amazed but can only see this as a good thing right?!? ( only pain was the choose and book sys was down so I've had to leave it with them to choose and book for me and let me know in the week Angry) One thing though she wasn't sure what my products they remove tomorrow would be tested for other than molar pregnancy and to confirm that they were poc is that right or should I demanding requesting any other tests on it ?Hmm

Still terrified of actual erpc tomorrow though but i guess that's normalConfused

leedy · 22/05/2012 16:59

mumtum, so glad the scan put your mind at rest.

NT done - risk of chromosomal abnormalities that of a 15 year old girl despite being geriatric person of nearly 40 (1/1750 for DS, 1/3200 for Edwards/Pataus), so am very very very very happy. Nose bone, bladder, stomach, heart, skull, spine, requisite number of limbs all visible.

Dorita75 · 22/05/2012 15:38

mumtum I'm glad it's put your mind at rest- iykwim and you can go ahead knowing it's the right thing. It is cruel, you're right, and I'm just glad you've been able to hold hands with others on here. Take care x

JaffaSnaffle · 22/05/2012 15:36

Mumtum, I completely understand why you did what you did and I am pleased your mind has been set at rest before tomorrow. I asked for a rescan after my mmc- I could not believe it was true and thought they must have made a mistake. I hope everything goes well for you tomorrow. X

Boris, I haven't read your thread but will do. I hope something positive comes of the fuss and you get an appointment.

Dorita, I have had what you describe after both my mc. It is the lovely named 'retained products'. Just keep an eye on it. With both of mine, I ended up being prescribed antibiotics as a precaution. If it comes back, I would contact your GP. Keep an eye on your temperature. Also, do a cheapo pregnancy test to confirm bfn. I ended up being examined by my GP, who confirmed my cervix was closed, but often if there is more left, your cervix stays a bit open and you have these gushes of bleeding with 'stuff'.

Love to everyone else x

pebspop · 22/05/2012 14:59

Mumtum hope you are feeling more at ease with the erpc now. after my first mc i had a few 'what if' moments. i think the hopsital are pretty certain everything is over before the send you for erpc. it is bloody awful turning up to the scan thinking everything will be ok to be told otherwise - i am sure a few on here can relate to that.

boris i was amazed the consultant rang me - it was very strange. she used to work at liverpool so i hope that helps to speed my referral up. i will ring liverpool next week if i haven't heard anything as i want to make sure there is little room for error.

i am going to start off on the b50's and see how it goes. lol at your dh taking the rest of your pack i hope it sorts his cycle out!!!

MarthasHarbour · 22/05/2012 14:52

oh mumtum i am so sorry however i also felt your 'relief' at knowing that the ERPC is the right thing do do, does that make sense? Confused you can now go ahead with the Op knowing that there is no room for error. I am so sorry though, and i agree with your comments about those who go on thinking they are pregnant. My MC started at 10 weeks and they thought it had started around 8 weeks so i guess i was in that situation. Like you i would rather have known.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow x

MumTumWanted · 22/05/2012 12:37

Thank u all of you lovely ladies for your support and absolutely not inappropriate boris that was a lovely thing to say so thank you.

Well I've had the scan and despite my misgivings the scan lady and early preg nurse were very supportive . This time I properly saw the scan pics and they sat and compared each of the measurements with me. It hadn't changed the outcome . I will still be in tomorrow for the erpc. But what it has done was exactly what i needed. It has settled my mind that despite the fact nothing is yet breaking down / collapsing ( please excuse terminology) the sac is infact ' shrivelling' it has got 5 mm smaller than at Fridays scan which when at its largest it was only 30mm that's a great deal of shrinkage. obviously you would expect growth not shrinkage. There is now no obvious foetal pole either when 2 weeks ago there was so things naturally are beginning to mc. I have now been convinced and assured i have suffered a mmc and so feel more accepting of the need for the erpc. I will always feel the guilt at the way in which I got the scan but I truly don't know if I could have gone through the erpc without having had this confirmation.

I do feel that a mmc is so very cruel. Had I not have had an understanding gp who sent me for early scans I'd still be thinking I was 9 weeks preg as I've had no obvious mc signs. Tbh from the very little natural mc signs we saw today on the screen it could well have been a couple more weeks til I found out possibly even at my nt scan. I just find that so sad I know other ladies on here have had exactly that if not worse and I truly do not know how you have coped but admire that you have.

Enough of the me me now thank u once again all of you. Xxxx

Dorita75 · 22/05/2012 12:05

Thanks everyone, although it freaked me out a bit, it sounds fairly normal to have this kind of thing after a mc. We're off to Paris on eurostar this aft so am keeping fingers crossed! Oh the irony, this hol was booked as a romantic getaway post mc haha!

WhyAlwaysBoris · 22/05/2012 11:50

Wow pebs that sounds really good that the consultant phoned you of their own accord, just to be useful! Hopefully that means the referral will go through really quickly now.

WTF is a mean old thing but hopefully this means your body has now 'reset' itself and you will now have lovely regular cycles so that when you have your test results and it is TTC you will have much cycle knowledge to help you.

I bought the B100's at Manda's suggestion. Have stopped taking them now in case there is a bfp inside, but had 8 left in the bottle left so am trying to make DH take them instead surely must be helpful somehow.

I'm off to torture the garden for a bit!

OP posts:
pebspop · 22/05/2012 11:39

don't blame you for not contacting the reported boris i couldn't think of anything worse than having your story told in public.

hope you are ok at the scan mumtum will pray for a miracle but if it doesn't happen i hope you get the peace of mind you are looking for.

my local consultant just rang me Shock she wanted to know how it went in london with raj rai. she is sending my letter off to liverpool today!

strange thing has just happened though. i have just got af only 20 days after last 'af' ended. i am now not sure if the last one was af or not. i haven't had any ewcm this cycle which is unusual for me. i had period pains for a couple of days but thought it might be ov pains. wtf cycles - gotta love 'em!

it has prompted me to get my ass in gear and get on the bvits bandwagon. i have just ordered these: www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=506

hope they are the right thing. didn't want to go for the b100's yet as these seem scary enough - the %rda is really high.

loving the hitler cat martha - i have three cats they are well cute!!

WhyAlwaysBoris · 22/05/2012 11:37

martha i hope your cat has not got his eye on poland

and that was a lovely message to mumtum i absolutely agree with boris

(can i just say that my cat is called boris and whenever i see your posts i imagine them sent by a black and white cat who looks like hitler Grin)

WhyAlwaysBoris · 22/05/2012 11:28

I hope it hasn't made the news, martha, i'm now hiding from the thread.
Obviously woudn't contact the journalist.

I don't want to contact her as if it is her i'd be sick if she suddenly took some interest just because the chief exec was breathing down her neck...sorry if i sound bitter and angry but i am, to be honest

OP posts:
WhyAlwaysBoris · 22/05/2012 11:25

mumtum No-one would begrudge you that scan, and no-one would judge you for getting it.

And sorry if this is inappropriate, (please forgive me if it is), but wanted to say in terms of mental health this, in my opinion, about as stresful and dreadful as life gets, and you have handled it with great dignity, strength and courage.

You are an amazing lady.

OP posts:
MarthasHarbour · 22/05/2012 11:24

why dont you contact her, and tell her how this has affected you.

incidentally has it made the news? i cant find anything..

MumTumWanted · 22/05/2012 11:21

X posts martha thank also . I know I was in the wrong to lie but I do need this.

MumTumWanted · 22/05/2012 11:19

Thank u ladies for making my need seem less needy. Manda thank u to for taking the time to be so reassuring you put it into much better words exactly how I feel and when u have so much on presently I truly am grateful for your thoughts. I hope beyond hope you 2 ds's are purely having a reaction to the vaccine and wish them both a speedy recovery .

And to the other ladies thank u also I spoke with my mum this morning and she believes to that I need this scan for mg own peace of mind. ( I've previously suffered depression and had nervous breakdown in my 20s so am emotionally wobbly at the best of times) the forever wondering I know would just break me.

So on that note im off to the dreaded place of tears and doom epu to finally try and ease away those demons so I can be fully sure of my decision tomorrow.

MarthasHarbour · 22/05/2012 11:14

first of all mumtum i echo absolutely everything manda has said (eloquently as usual Smile) and the others on the thread, yes you have manipulated the system but so what? it is your body and if there is that glimmer of hope then i would do the same thing x

boris Shock OMG, that is bizarre. I dont know what you 'should' do but, hang on i will read the thread first!

WhyAlwaysBoris · 22/05/2012 10:41

manda lovely to have an update. I really hope it is a reaction to the vaccine and NOT the measles. xx

OP posts:
WhyAlwaysBoris · 22/05/2012 10:40

mumtum think it is absolutely reasonable for you to get a scan. Will be thinking of you.

And leedy good luck on the NT today.

Not much help on the when to test on first TTC after MC as i was too scared to try that month, sorry, ladies.

Dorita, my first three AF after the MC were very strange, painful (TMI coming up) hard clumpy things. I had an emergency erpc AFTER labour and delivery so i'm pretty sure between these two things there can't have been a lot left up there, so i think it was just hormones etc having an effect rather than passing stuff from the mC iyswim. I found my periods after very painful and very upsetting. Hope you are OK.

I'm in a spot of bother this morning, ladies, can i pick your brains??

As some of you know I put up a thread asking what to do about the hospital and it has got a bit grown up this morning. Reporters and stuff . Gulp. (So i'm hiding in here where i feel safe)

All of a sudden the hospital suddently care! Funny that! The problem is that I'm pretty sure that the woman they have asked me to contact is the woman who i was in contact with about the lack of antenatal appointments (and the lying about whether i'd left messages) and she apparently didn't do anything.

After the MC i spoke to her for a second time (she rang me) and said that my complaint would be taken very seriously and we agreed she would send the results of the investigation to me via email so that i could read it on a strong day.

I never heard from her again. This really upset me as it was like me and my baby didn't matter to them.

I obviously can not be 100% certain as i never caught her last name but was the same first name in a senior role in same department, so seems pretty likely) . If it is the same person i don't want anything to do with them.

Obviously i don't want to write this on the thread as they have written this persons full name and if i'm wrong it would be a horrible slander.

At the same time i don't want to send in a complaint if it is going to get sent to her. I certainly wouldn't want a meeting with her as she hurt me dreadfully and i wouldn't believe a word she said.

At the same time i really, really need an apointment with the consultant to go through those test results.

What should i do?
