Blue I will let you off this time as you are in labour! But it's pie at work with bump - not me. Wish it was!

Glad to hear your good news Jaffa!

Awww, brilliant news Jaffa!!

BlueCrane · 24/05/2012 17:02

jaffa fab news Grin so pleased for you!

pebs feel for you at work with bump in this heat...not fun!

Then again i must say contractions aren't the best either in this heat! Just resorted to having some paracetamol as they're getting pretty strong now...think we'll be going in soon...

PieMistress · 24/05/2012 16:25

That's brilliant news jaffa go your baby girl!!

Hope you're doing oksy blue

I'm not doing very well with a bump in this heat, am having to wear flip flops in the office as my ankles and feet are really swollen!

Had a consultant appt on Tues and was given a date for my CS - only 4 weeks away!! As DS got stuck and they couldn't get him out with forceps they are happy to give me an elective this time (especially as baby is measuring bigger than DS).

When is your MW appt martha?

Hope life in the manda household isn't too measles ridden? xx

Love to all, Pie x

JaffaSnaffle · 24/05/2012 16:08

Hurray! Hurray! There was a heartbeat! I'm 16 weeks with a baby with a heartbeat! And I know she is a girl, with no chromosome problems! We are sitting in the garden having celebratory ice creams.

blue, this is a hot day for a labour. Thinking of you x

So sorry to hear about measles Manda. c

BlueCrane · 24/05/2012 13:33

Frustratingly still at home...things slowed right up to a stop probably because I had to lie down and have a nap due to lack of sleep last night but have done the ironing and am back to bouncing on my ball and hoping they'll pick back up again, at every 7min at the moment! Very much just want to get on with this now!

manda so sorry about the measles outbreak...what a nightmare in this heat as well! Has DF escaped it? Can't believe it's a week since you were 'pushing' either!

Big bouncing wave to everyone else...sorry for not doing a full name check!

MarthasHarbour · 24/05/2012 12:56

ps - FX jaffa Smile

MarthasHarbour · 24/05/2012 12:54

pebspop · 24/05/2012 12:40

fingers crossed jaffa - i have been in your shoes before so know how you must be feeling. try to think positive!!!

YikesHereWeGo · 24/05/2012 12:29

fx jaffa - I have a good feeling about your mw appt. The sun is a shinin' and all that :) Good luck

YikesHereWeGo · 24/05/2012 12:28

mumtum - sorry about the hideous hospital-day yesterday, things can only get better from here though, wishing you lots of tlc.
good luck indeed blue - can't wait to hear all the gory details very soon.
goth - good to meet you, you're definitely in perfect company. and thank you for asking about 'WTF' - I only knew the sweary version before you asked.
pebs - us lot have to get good at "happy smiley faces" whilst thinking slightly less benevolent thoughts Wink, unless of course they are for others on this thread in which case we are genuinely happy!! (Am I allowed to say that?!)
manda - wow, time does indeed fly! I can't quite believe it's been a week already.
I've just got back from hospital, it was all fairly straightforward, I got my piece of paper with "complete miscarriage" on it, and surprised all the hospital staff by looking really pleased with myself. I think they thought I was on drugs.
I casually asked when I could try again and got the "wait for AF" response, but when I again casually asked "but what if I got preggo straight away" the mw said it wouldn't really matter and I should just go for it if I wanted to. I then spoke to another mw who gave me a stern look, said I should defo wait for AF and told me to be very careful on honeymoon. AS IF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So am officially on the WTF cycle and going to be as naughty as possible this month and see what happens. Wink Blush

JaffaSnaffle · 24/05/2012 12:25

Go Blue! Fabulous news!

Hope scans go well today for yikes and gpb.

Having huge metal before MW appointment and have convinced myself that there will be no heartbeat. I just feel like this is some sort of threshold that I won't get past.

leedy · 24/05/2012 11:14

mumtum, that sounds like a less than pleasant experience but at least it's over now - hoping you make a swift recovery and get lots of looking-after.

Also v exciting for blue!

PieMistress · 24/05/2012 11:10

Quickly jumps on to wish blue lots and lots of luck and look forward to an announcement :) :) :)

MandaHugNKiss · 24/05/2012 11:04

Just quickly as DS1 & 2 do indeed have measles - it's pretty grim here at MandaTowers. Last night DS2 woke every hour coughing and crying (with 39.5 temp) so I had to go from the living room and baby to settle him... with new baby waking three times for a feed (luckily not at same time as DS2 needed me but itmeans Ihave had less than Very Little sleep).

mumtum And now the healing can begin Even if it doesn't actually feel like it just now. I was very sore the day after my erpc -thighs and bottom of ribs were agony... but I was in theatre for 2 hours vs the usual 20 mins and must have been from being in an unnatural position (in stirrups) for so long. It all improved quickly though so heres hoping you find the same.

boris So sorry, my lovely. In your sadness I hope you won't lose sight of what an achievement it was gettng those signs changed. I know it'll be small comfort right now, but good on you, lady. As your levels are falling, I would imagine you would start to bleed fairly soon but the hospital are still dishing out pretty crap advice. Angry

blue !! Today you'll have a baby! Or at the latest tomorrow... can't wait to hear the flavour Grin Wishing you a breeze of a birth (they happen! I've had them!). Wow, I was in your shoes this time last week

Love to everyone/welcome to newbies. Back at some point...

pebspop · 24/05/2012 10:58

omg! someone is actually doing a pregnancy annoucement in my office now. arrgghh! fuck. luckily she doesnt work in here.

everyone is talking about it. eeekkk. i will just pretend to work on here!

goth WTF cycle is the name for the first cycle while you are waiting for AF to return. anything can (and does) happen. crazy spotting, ov or no ov, early/late af you may get pg again or maybe not.

the pg one has gone now - phew!

boris hope things get sorted for you soon.

mumtum sorry to hear you erpc didn't go as well as expected. it's all over now though. hope you have a fast recovery and look after yourself.

the AF that never was has gone now. i googled and a lot of people seemed to have bleeding when ov was due in first proper cycle after mc. maybe thats what i have got.

gothinrecovery · 24/05/2012 10:14

Just found this thread. I MC'd on Tuesday at 7 weeks aged 42, first confirmed pregnancy although had suspected (much earlier) MC in October last year.

Just wanted to ask what is the WTF cycle?

Unlikely to be on here much as all still too raw at the moment but was curious.

MarthasHarbour · 24/05/2012 09:41

oh boris i am so very sorry, i cant believe how Croydon are treating you but i just want to give you a and hope that you are getting some rest. i would second not using tampons, hideous i know but i would err on the side of caution. so very very very sorry Sad

icequeenkate i like the term 'grunge' it perfectly sums up how it has been! i should have worn DH's faded Nirvana tshirt over the last few days eh?? Wink

mumtum i hope you too are getting lots of rest, glad it went 'relatively' smoothly (these things never do!)

oh and boris small victories on the trust changing the signs! well done!

WhyAlwaysBoris · 24/05/2012 08:56

Thanks, no bleeding yet, just getting organised in case it starts at work today. You are so amazing to reply when you have other things to do today!! Hope it goes brilliantly, can't wait to hear your happy announcement.

WhyAlwaysBoris · 24/05/2012 08:54

How fantastic! GOOD LUCK BLUE :)

OP posts:
BlueCrane · 24/05/2012 08:54

PS boris pads only I'm afraid due to risk of infection I think...have you started bleeding or just getting organised?

BlueCrane · 24/05/2012 08:53

Morning all...

mumtum glad your DH is looking after you well. So sorry it turned out to be such a long day and hopefully the pain will ease v soon.

boris gutted about your hcg results Sad hope you can get some closure soon.

Well...it looks as though mini-crane might be on the move!?!? Had a show yesterday evening and contractions started at 4:30am this morning...now every 4mins ish. Didn't actually get any sleep at all last night which is a tad frustrating given the amount of hard work (hopefully) ahead today!! Will be back to let you know how I get on as soon as I can...not rung hospital yet as waiting to get to the magic 3 in 10min point! If it does all happen today/tomorrow then it also means that I miss my MMC scan discovery anniversary (which is on Saturday).

WhyAlwaysBoris · 24/05/2012 08:53

Mumtum i'm so glad you are home and at least it is over. Sounds like a truly horrid day. I hope the pain and discomfort pass really quickly.

Yikes fingers indeed crossed for your scan.

Quick question, sorry if it is daft- can i use tampons during the MC- bought some super duper would fit an elepahnt ones last night but then read somewhere on a board you aren't supposed to use them- is this true? Don't relish having to use pads only but if necessary obviously i will- feel a bit daft i don't know the answer but my other MC was labour and delivery so know idea what i'm doing.
