Tennerlady · 26/04/2012 11:09

Jaffa so pleased for you love it when things go right x

MandaHugNKiss · 26/04/2012 11:08

Wooooo! This isn't the done thing on MN, I know, but I know it's not possible that I'm feeling as relieved as you, but when one of 'ours' posts stuff that could potentially be bad... and I feel sure it's ok -so say as much- I then worry I've done the wrong thing in being reassuring just in case. So when you having your nuchal/regualr tweleve week scan?

JaffaSnaffle · 26/04/2012 10:56

One little baby, measuring 12 weeks. Doing little leaps! No obvious cause of the cramps. I cried from relief, and had to go and hide in the loos so I didn't freak out the others in the waiting room. I have got this far before and mc, but 12 weeks feels like something to be happy about.

I woke up at 4.30 last night and couldn't get back to sleep, have a stinking cold, red eyes, but walking around in this weird sunny/rainy/ windy weather feeling surreally pleased with the world.

MandaHugNKiss · 26/04/2012 10:51

Oooh, marff I could be Pats! We'd be ab fab, wouldn't we? Grin

Holding you in my thoughts jaffa

I actually did have two big pain au chocolate for brekkie today so it would be very wrong to have more... I shall have some fruit. Thanks tits And sorry to hear of the sore, uh, tits (poor DP won't be getting near them, eh? Even though it's his birthday (Happy Birthday MrTits)). Although hopefully it all means Good Things!

MarthasHarbour · 26/04/2012 09:45

I think French and Saunders (and Lumley) are the funniest women in the world!

I have aspirations to be Eddie (could never be Patsy as i love my food too much!)

TitsalinaBumSquash · 26/04/2012 09:24

Thinking of you jaffa Smile

I lurve Dawn French Grin

MarthasHarbour · 26/04/2012 09:18

jaffa is your scan today? masses of fingers crossed xxx

MarthasHarbour · 26/04/2012 09:16

tits whenever i hear of the FF i always think of Dawn French et al in 'Five go mad in Dorset'. Showing my age here but it was a Comic Strip satirical spoof of the FF in the early 80s. Dawn F is George and there is a scene when she is in the tent and all you can hear is her talking to her dog:

Dawn F: 'Timmy [dog] you are so licky'

Jennifer Saunders voice: 'You shouldnt let him do that - it is soooo unhygenic'

StateofConfusion · 26/04/2012 07:48

Aaaaargh!

Woke up to dp in the bathroom and I needed the toilet, my tummy now hurts sooo bad, who thought needing a wee could do this to me.

Anyway! Morning all, hope your not metalling to bad --like I am--

TitsalinaBumSquash · 26/04/2012 07:18

Morning Smile

I have spent the night throwing up, what can only be described as whole food, no sort of moisture, was bloody painful.

It's dp's bday today, I'm struggling to find any cheer, however I'll attempt cake baking today at some point. I'm going to go for a rainbow cake I think.

On another note my boobs are so sore today I think even wearing a tshirt will be uncomfortable, sadly I think it's frowned upon to walk around nekkid Grin

kirrin I was the hugest ff fan, I was always do cross that my holidays never involved any mysteries. I did cut all my hair short and act like George for a few years though Grin

Much love to all.

StateofConfusion · 25/04/2012 22:48

How you doing then me old mucker, you are just about term then when you get to 37 weeks. Soooo excited for you and blue

I found out my cousin is pregnant which is bloody fantastic news as they have been TTC for at least 2 years and i think she had a MC as she has been right out of the loop for a bit. Anyway it is good to hear some lovely news Smile

Me and DH shagging like rabbits again this month Grin

Waves to everyone and sorry for lack of name checking but will try and catch up properly.

sunshinesue · 25/04/2012 22:12

Thinking of you tomorrow Jaffa x

JaffaSnaffle · 25/04/2012 21:53

state, I had bad cramps on Tues morning, and a huge panic. Rang
Mw who put me on to EPU, mainly because of my history.
She said there could be lots of reasons for cramps, particularly if it would be a time AF was due, which it would have been for me, my cycle is 27 days. I think other reasons are digestive maladies, ligament stretching, back strain, expanding uterus, and the dreaded mc. She was heartened by the fact I wasn't bleeding.

I am still very scared though. My mind always jumps to the worst conclusion.

bonzo77 · 25/04/2012 21:45

manda just checked out your ad... very glam. I'd probably go shopping on the basis of that, except that 1. tempting fate 2. I've got maternity clothes from last time (well, not last time, but the time before IYKWIM) 3. lack of £. At one point I was going to need 2 maternity dresses for back to back weddings in June, and both the stripey one and the ethicy one would be right up my street. But I blew all my ebay takings on something glittery and short from french connection last week instead. I've decided to stop the B6. I want to feel sick! I know that's Hmm but I would find it reassuring to be heaving a bit!

Can anyone here recommend anywhere that is not too pricey for a private 8wk scan in North London. Best I've seen is £75. Whittington will do one, but operates a walk in service only, and I will have to join the end of the queue after anyone in pain / bleeding. DH wants to be there but really cannot afford any time off work so I need somewhere that will make an appointment either in the evening or a saturday.

country my best friend gave birth to her DC3 in between my mmc diagnosis and my ERPC. She was a bit sheepish about getting very excited or involving me lots early on, but actually I was delighted for her, of course, and I think in retrospect she knows she needn't have played her new baby down. All my friends and family have been either hugely sympathetic, or just a bit quiet about it, knowing that I tend to play my cards close. A couple of members of DH's family were total dicks, and very very close to the event (between the diagnosis and the ERPC, over xmas / ny just to make things worse). But they are prats anyway and I just added their behaviour to my mental list of reasons I don't talk about stuff with them.

welcome icequeen. sounds like you have had a particular kind of rollercoaster, an unexpected pregnancy then an mc. This is a great thread for comfort, words of wisdom and occasional black humour.

StateofConfusion · 25/04/2012 21:42

jaffa you had cramping, tell me more please? i have since last night! stopped most of today and back now.

StateofConfusion · 25/04/2012 21:41

any of you lovely ladies know much about UTI's spoke to my mum and a google sprung that up??

I would be over joyed if that was the cause for my discomfort, i want this jelly bean to stick soooo much.

JaffaSnaffle · 25/04/2012 21:37

Hello, welcome to new people.

It is the night before the freaky scan tomorrow. I will be 11+6 tomorrow so it is significant in more than just a trying not to panic way... I miscarried after my 12 week scan, but it still seems like a big milestone.

The cramping has gone, and no bleeding, so a bit more cheerful than the other day but still very scared. Think of me tomorrow morning!

CountryMouse27 · 25/04/2012 21:12

Oh! KirrinIsland - on a lighter note I once spent a good 3 months as a 9 year old (give or take a few years) checking our ancient readers digest atlas for Kirrin Island. I narrowed it down to somewhere off Newquay Beach and wouldn't accept that it was fictional. To my shame I also wrote to the EB fan club to ask if they could point me in the right direction. I had my own new sleeping bag see so had all the gear.

Fingers and toes crossed for your scan. Put past experiences to the back of your mind and enjoy the build up as much as you can. Easy to write I guess but not as easy to put into practice!

kirrinIsland · 25/04/2012 21:06

Welcome icequeen and welcome back countrymouse

I have found that to be true icequeen but being on here has been a great help.

I am now counting down the days to my 12 weeks scan on Tuesday. Can't wait, but also very nervous.

CountryMouse27 · 25/04/2012 21:03

Hey icequeen I'm a fellow lurker, I like to think that the others have fitted the walls out with very soft lining and a revolving door so you can come and go as you please.

Sorry to hear about your experiences, you're definately in the right place, even if I've not participated I've drawn a lot of comfort from the experiences that others have had and been brave enough to talk about.

icequeenkate · 25/04/2012 20:36

Hello. May I join in after lurking for a couple of weeks?

Discovered I was pg 12 March (massive shock etc as was unplanned, got rid of all baby/maternity stuff a year ago etc). Started spotting 2 weeks later, h&c levels not doing well etc. Finally had mc at beginning of April. Af has arrived and now waiting to start ttc after the weekend.

I am lucky - already have DS1 (7), DS2 (6) and DS3 (2).

Read somewhere earlier on this thread a comment about how a mc makes you worry even when you've had a number of successful pgs and somehow takes the joy out of the previous ones? I know this is how I will feel if lucky enough to get pg again so thought it best to find somewhere with others who will understand. Hope that's ok?
