That's it really! I am getting ready to TTC again after an Ectopic and tube removal in March 2012. Wondered if there was anyone else out there who was actively TTC following EP?

Wow this thread has gone very quiet!
How's everyone doing?

Countmyblessings · 08/07/2012 22:51

Jojo- when are you due, try not to worry and if it's positive whoop!
Fuckit- I'm so very happy for you update life after an ectopic and tube removal is not the end!
Just a little update from me ectopic end april-I have had 1 cycle and was going to actively try in August but alas my body had other idea was due
Yesterday did a test and it's a BFP! Holding my breath as I now need to have a scan, scared and really worried about the
Little cramping which I know is normal but can't help being scared!
As my last one I was in no pain and it wasn't good!!!
Fuckit- how did u handle it afterwards???

Fuckitthatlldo · 08/07/2012 18:16

I got pregnant just a few months after an ectoptic and tube removal. And I read that having one tube doesn't affect your fertility as much as some people assume. Apparently the one tube can sometimes reach over and 'catch' eggs from the opposite ovary. The human body is an amazing thing - don't give up hope. You're still young and you're still fertile.

Not " do" should of been " so" iPhone correction text not helpful at times!!!

Countmyblessings · 27/06/2012 11:19

Hi Tas - welcome my view is if your body is still pumping out eggs and you want another child then go for it!
I def oved last week had pain for the 1st time well as long as I can rember on my right side strange do use to it on my left side!!! Holding off TTC until I'm clear another cycle so aiming for August!
I just pray I can cope with it all!!! It's hard when you have been through a trauma and suffered loss to enter into the unknown praying it will be different next time! Wanting and fretting both at the same time can't be good for our bodies, well being and peace of mind!! Right!!!!!

tasmaniandevilchaser · 25/06/2012 20:42

hello! Just found this thread, hi count!

I'm in maybe 4th cycle after EP, definitely ovulating but getting a bit ancient in the egg dept, so not holding out much hope.

It's good to hear success stories, I think I'll always regret it if I don't give it another go. Though I'm not hopeful for success, don't think I can get my hopes up.

Not seen berries around lately, was hoping you have good news!

Countmyblessings · 25/06/2012 16:25

Where everyone gone?????
It's gone quiet!!!!!

Countmyblessings · 21/06/2012 09:32

I have no clue when I'm oving, which I maybe haven't as yet but I'm holding off getting pregnant for just enjoying swoi!!!!! Although I still don't know how long it will take me to get pregnant I guess I will cross that bridge when I get there!!!!
Had a fab hair cut and feeling good, went super short but very happy!!!

ThoughtfulOne · 20/06/2012 09:05

Hi - I'd given up on this thread but I see there has been some activity. How are you ladies? Afm - I'm stressing in the 2ww as usual. My boobs feel massive but I think I just forget how big they feel pre AF!

X

Countmyblessings · 09/06/2012 17:41

Hi ilove - whoop on you oving!
RancerDoo- thank you for sharing, it's wonderful for confirmation that there is healthy babies born after tube removal and trauma after ectopics!
I really do pray that I & many others will go on to happy healthy pregnancies and beautiful babies!!!!
AF thankfully pain gone!!!!! Will def have to wait another cycle as have Christmas hols all booked! Though we would have to rebook for another date but since the loss, keeping it so not long after my due date comes around will be heading to the sun!!!! Wouldn't mind going and being a little bit pregnant though!!!!!

RancerDoo · 09/06/2012 09:20

Ilove your gp is talking crap.

Your reproductive system is very close together and eggs are often picked up by the opposite side tube (there was a study that suggested this happened 30 percent of the time). My dd2 came from an egg on my tubeless side and was conceived 4 months after salpingectomy.

I wish gps were more clued up about ectopics, especially since they are becoming so common.

Good luck with ttc. It may well not be a long road at all.

iloveberries · 09/06/2012 08:36

hey count - i am still here, and still TTC after ectopic!!

i've ovulated so just a waiting game now - trying not to think about it and just get on with life and if it happens it happens :)

Hi all it's gone abit quiet on here!!! Although I see some of you on other threads! My 1st AF after my op has turned up and the physical and mental pain was quite hard the pain was awful!!!!
It's bittersweet glad to have a cycle body working! But just another reminder I'm not pregnant and have to start all over!!!

ThoughtfulOne · 14/05/2012 09:13

I can second that, it does get easier. The first time I saw small children after my op I burst into tears. I didnt want to see my nieces and nephews and I felt terrible all the time. 5 months on, although I do still think about what might have been it isn't with the same gut wrenching pain. I am enjoying my nieces and nephews again. It has helped talking to a few close people about how I feel, even if they don't really get it, they know you are hurting and somehow that acknowledgment helps.

Distraction techniques work wonders, planning holidays, taking up a new hobby, drinks with friends, ridiculous plot lines in box set DVDs etc

iloveberries · 14/05/2012 07:26

Oh count, how is your DH handling things? Can you talk to him? It is a very lonely thing as there's not many people who know how you feel is there?

The 'milestones' are horrible. I had a major wobble at what would have been my 12 week mark as a few friends announced pregnancies and now i know i have to watch them go through the milestones I would/should have had.

It is so hard. I don't know if this helps but I just deal with it by telling myself that although it is brutal, cruel, unfair etc, that pregnancy wasn't to be. It's shit but it just wasn't meant to be.

While you're off work what are you up to? It really hasn't been that long so if all you want to do is curl up on the sofa then do that but if you can face it maybe get out for a walk with DS. I would STRONGLY recommend staying away from softplays or playgroups for a while as too many bumps are not fun to see at this stage. It will get easier though, i promise x

Sad, down, lonely - month as of yesterday from BFP to now do much has changed and I just can't believe it!!!
I have also looked on the ESW! And just don't see as much constant posting as you do on here! I think MN is much more easier to write on find your way around etc, I notice people will also read your posts but not reply which I don't like as it like the topic you have written is not worthy of a reply and can be like that for ages!

iloveberries · 13/05/2012 19:05

Hi thoughtful - that must be very hard to have your last ally fall pregnant, esp with triplets. It is good that you fell quickly though. wish you all the best and a healthy pregnancy soon.

I did find the ectopic trust site but TBH I find MN more helpful for the support side of things.

How are you feeling at the moment count?

OP posts:
Countmyblessings · 10/05/2012 20:44

Thoughtful - the only thing in which I know I'm blessed that I have dc and my youngest ds is 2! He came just after I lost my mum and after I thought I wouldn't have anymore it just wasn't happening had my dd in 2000!
So the age gap ain't close and I wonder why, everyone else was just having them!( ectopic 1 in 06,MMC in 11 and now this)
It must be heartbreaking and I can't even imagine how You are feeling!
Holding hands sounds good to me!!!!

ThoughtfulOne · 10/05/2012 19:45

Thanks for kind word countmyblessings.

iliveberries, although my tube ruptured they repaired it rather than remove it as I had damage to my other one. So good I have two tubes still but bad they are both damaged. I have no DCs but everyone around me seems to! I try not to be crazy but my last ally in RL just announced she is pregnant with triplets!

I got pregnant really quickly with the ectopic which is meant to be a good sign but then again who knows! Glad we've found each other for support.

Have you found the ectopic pregnancy trust website by the way? They are great.

Countmyblessings · 10/05/2012 18:01

Thinking of you - Thoughtful it must be so hard!

iloveberries · 10/05/2012 09:02

Hi thoughtful - i understand the terrifying/frustrating part. It is hard enough TTC with 2 tubes!! Did you fall pregnant quickly the last time? Did they check out your remaining tube when you had the surgery? Do you have DCs?
Hope you don't mind all the questions. Nice to find someone going through the same thing....

ThoughtfulOne · 09/05/2012 15:20

I'm TTC after a traumatic ruptured EP in January. No luck so far. It is terrifying and frustrating in equal measures. I wish I could just forget about it and enjoy the BD!

Countmyblessings · 09/05/2012 00:16

Nice for positives after such negatives I guess when you try for awhile and you have 2 tubes you feel it's just bad timing sometimes or something wrong with you or otherhalf,But when you have 1 you then have to focus and pray!
Positive vibes and looking forwards to hearing good news real soon!

schobe · 07/05/2012 14:34

Hellooo!

Sorry, been away. Yes, time is DEFinitely on your side so try to be reassured on that. If you search on ectopic or ep on mumsnet, you'll find positive stories of people going on to have more children aplenty. Encouraging reading while you wait to try again!
