good luck sparkle, I'm a few days behind you. I could never use those damn pee sticks myself but I temp now and even though the rise means its over I seem to be fairly regular of ov, so I base timing on previous charts then confirm with the rise. Works for me, well actually not in the only sense that actually matters so far, please let me not be driving myself mad for nothing

Solars · 24/04/2012 08:02

Oh Geek you poor thing, hope you're ok. I hope you can see this a just a small set back and it is not a waste of your money/effort as you've been so patient as it is. Sometimes we forget how all of this effects our DHs. I really hope you can speak to your DH and come to some sort of agreement/plan that you are both comfortable with, other than that perhaps counselling may help?? Lots of hugs for you x

Ovulation Predictor Kits - pee sticks that show a the presence of a hormone that in turn indicates that your body is 'gearing up' to ovulate. Some women find them useful to time baby-making sex.

PipIsOutNow · 24/04/2012 06:54

I came off the pill in January. What are OPKs? I am totally new to all this. Xxx

Purpledragon · 24/04/2012 06:41

Hi geek sorry to jump in, I just saw your post and wanted to say hi. I'm a very long time without contraception and no happy accidents person. Is very difficult to strike a balance I find. We are on month 3 of an actively trying deal (hence I discovered the online TTC world which somehow escaped me in the past). I can't really tell how long we have actively TTCed over the years, been very on and off; in part because of life and in part because it's so hard to sustain. I hate obsessing over it but the relaxed approach doesn't work for us obviously. Years ago a doctor said to me, 'just have sex everyday, it doesn't need to be more complicated than that'. Not sure what planet she lives on, planet sex, I guess.

Geeklette · 24/04/2012 05:15

maybe thanks, though I don't really feel like a star right now. In a nutshell, MrGeek and I have been together 11 years, never used any form of contraception as have always been happy for a 'happy accident' to occur. It never has. Various complications along the way, the most major being MrGeek being diagnosed with diabetes about 6-8 years ago. Cue very rapid descent into all things diabetes related. SWI/SFF have been nonexistent for over 2 years.

Sorry to say last night didn't happen. Neither of us coping v well with that. Starting to feel like I have spend a whole load of money/hope/dreams on something I am never destined to have. Feel like by acknowledging how important it has become to me to have a child that I have put MrGeek under huge amounts of stress and pressure he doesn't need. Really unfair on him.

Sorry for the negative post. Need to sort my head out and thought if I put some words on a page it might help.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/04/2012 23:45

Ok, ignore that. Seems the iPad won't let me upload photos

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/04/2012 23:42

Geek you sound like a star. Excuse the nosiness (who am I kidding, I love nosy) but what is your story?

Pip sorry about the BFN. My cycles were crazy for a bit after the pill too. It will calm down, I'm sure.

Best hello my dear! At least the DVD is out of the wrapper' it's a step in the right direction. Moved up to level 2 on ripped in 30 tonight' which following the 6 mile run yesterday, getting out of bed tomorrow may be interesting Grin

Glad everything went well Sweetie, when are you back for the results?

Little this is the last you'll see of AF. Make the most of her.

Welcome Spectra this is the place for you as long as you come bearing baked goods Wink

Imps thinking of you on your first day back. Hope you have loved it. What did you tell the PR lady in the end?.........

Have put a few puppy pics up too. Can't believe he is 7 months already! We went to see our baby niece when we were away, she is just learning to use her walker. Otis was too cute, he followed her everywhere. Must be a sign.... Wink

Geeklette · 23/04/2012 21:52

Almost ready to DTD, MrGeek is about to pop a blue pill and chill for an hour while it gets to work. I have my Conceive Plus lined up and am chomping at the bit. Two years... hell's teeth how have I coped???

TheLittleFriend · 23/04/2012 20:09

pip, to answer your question for sweetie, FMU is First Morning Urine. It has the strongest concentration of pregnancy hormones in it, so should be used for early pregnancy tests. Hth Smile

PipIsOutNow · 23/04/2012 20:07

8sweetie* what's FMU? xxx

TheLittleFriend · 23/04/2012 19:38

Gah, af is definitely here.

hello and welcome Spectra

All went well for the Sweeties this morning. DH said he struggled but managed in the end - bless him. He said it was a small sample, I don't think that will matter too much but we can mention it to the the consultant when we next see him.

Hello all! May I join in? TTC#2, DD just turned 3. Would love a Positive pee stick this cycle (TTC since Jan including a chemical pregnancy) It is so nice to know that I am not alone in driving myself crazy with would be symptoms!

PipIsOutNow · 23/04/2012 16:59

Just did a first response and BFN!!! Guess I'm not as tuned in to my body as I thought!!! Ha!!! Will await arrival of wicked AF and try again next month xxx

BestLaidPlans · 23/04/2012 16:58

So many posts.... need to up my MN habit clearly.

Maybe and Sparks I remember hating all the pregnancy announcements, and hating them for being pregnant and then hating myself for hating them and for not being able to hold on to a foetus for more than three months. Exhausting and hideous. Lots of sympathy.

Smegs hope the MS is at a happy medium of bad enough to be reassuring but not so bad it's crap.

Whims hope your day improved.

I'm another knitter and baker, but sorely lacking on the exercise front for the last couple of years. I do have The Shred DVD, out of its packaging and everything, but in the list of Things To Do While DD is Napping it ranks somewhere below housework, gardening, knitting, cooking and MNing.

Happy St. George's Day Dragon

whimsicalname · 23/04/2012 16:45

Gawd, I can't keep up with all the name changing.

Anyway, just wanted to tell tockybean Junior to come round and talk fire engines with me. Give the dog a bit of respite.

Can he co-author a paper with me? can't be less helpful than current co-authors
