Asseyez-vous mes amies and ready yourselves for the BESH Eurovision contest ever. Get ready with your Central European fashion, transvestites and inability to sing anything in tune. Get ready to rip your skirts off and leave your other halves no option but to make their mind up (do you see what I did there?) to get down to some swi and do your best not to think of Terry Wogan at any point in the proceedings. Finally, get ready to yell ?nul points? at the evil Droid should it dare to make an appearance.

Newbies, approach in high euro-camp mode, find and complete the BESHtionnaire to let us judge whether you are cynical and menkul enough to join us.

Try whistling/singing to see if they notice you Grin

Failing that, go kick some ass!

Northey · 23/04/2012 17:05

Just ARGH! What if they have forgotten me? How can this be taking so long?

CaveMum · 23/04/2012 17:01

Ass-kicky norf, get ass-kicky!

Northey · 23/04/2012 16:55

An hour and a quarter after my appointment was due to take place, I am still sitting in the waiting room. I am now the only person here. I can't decide if this has made me more ass-kicky, or has sapped all my life force.

eurochick · 23/04/2012 15:21

I quite agree. A face to face meeting becomes irrelevant if there is no discussion. I felt that my last appointment was a waste of time. They could have just written to me to say my scan and HSG were clear, KFZK's looked fine and they had referred me for IVF, rather than having both of us take a morning off work to hear that at a 5 minute appointment.

You go kick some bottom!

I've had that too, euro. I saw my consultant for my first appointment and since then have had underlings only, which I didn't actually mind until the imbecile last time (am reading through my file, and hae just come to the letter she wrote, which has made me massively ragey all over again). And your point that decisions have actually already been made in an earlier case meeting have made me really ready for battle. If I'm only being notified of a decision, why the fuck drag me in at all. They could email me the conclusions, quite frankly. So if I am here I am damned well taking a part in the decision-making.

eurochick · 23/04/2012 14:46

The difficulty I found with my NHS clinic was that I never once saw the consultant I was supposedly under, only her underlings. This meant that decisions were taken about my case at the meetings that took place when I wasn't there. Of course, it's normal that teams discuss cases, but I felt that there was never really any opportunity to discuss things because the decision had already been made before we walked through the door 9for an appointment that would usually only last a few mins). A similar thing happens with my private consultant because he has his own ideas about how to run things and has often prepared my prescription before my appointment, but at least I can have a dialogue with the decision-maker in that circumstance.

Good luck, norfy.

I agree. I think as long as there is an identifiable problem (that I have really long irregular cycles and my ovaries could prob do with a kick up the arse) we should try to work on that. Rather than going nuclear, so to speak. On way to hospital now, mentally counting cycle days...

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/04/2012 14:26

I think if I was in your position personally, I'd plump for the clomid first - I think euro is right. The drilling has helped a bit but not made you ovulate as early on as you/they'd hoped. Unless they give you good reason for not giving you the clomid that it. It would be drastic to offer you ivf straight off I think? You could always say you need some time to think about it and discuss it with AMNH, that's fair!

eurochick · 23/04/2012 13:41

I guess it depends how you feel about it. My experience taught me that however much I want a baby, I need to ramp up the treatment gradually. For me this has been agnus castus and supplements, Letrozole, IUI. I think at the end of a couple of IUI cycles I might be ready. I wasn't at all when I was referred for it back in November. But I think I might be unusual. I think most people just want to get to whatever gives them the best chance asap.

If Clomid can get you ovulating regularly (I think you have long cycles?), it is a lot less invasive than IVF.

I wimped out, fortunately, as the heavens opened about 30 mins later.

Just getting dressed in my lightest clothes, in case they freakishly decide to weigh me. A Random Thought - what if they offer me something other than Clomid? I hadn't even considered that, but of course they threw europa totally with suggesting ivf. What should I do if they suggest it for me? Would I rather have Clomid? I can't imagine ivf being very easy to manage whilst living somewhere else and AMNH having a job it's not easy to take leave from anyway... Gulp.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/04/2012 10:14

Good luck lem!
Sympathies for the rumbly tumblies, I have ibs so I understand!
I'd go norf but back a brolly...

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/04/2012 10:12

Apologies for the oversharing, and sorry you are suffering too norf.

Pleased some people enjoyed the tickets, even if they were not the right ones (and that you got some money for it). Good luck with bed-changing, I rarely do that, as SB is way taller, and I am convinced that is an advantage, he is our designated bedmaker... I am the smelling-police though and I totally know what you mean, faith.

I'm off now - good luck norf if I don't catch you before your appointment!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/04/2012 10:08

Oh, no he didn't go in the end lem. To be honest, I think he'd have struggled because his neck and head were bad Friday anyway. We sold them to my sister's work colleagues, they said they were sorry we couldn't make it but they were very grateful for the tickets and hasn't laughed so much in years. So at least they didn't go to waste.
So lots of thumb twiddling today then? Maybe we should play a game? Hmm
I managed to shower and dress. I had to get out of bed - I'd decided to strip it, you know when it's due and once you've decided it needs doing, you think it smells a bit? So now I'm laid on the unmade bed gearing up for the next step!

Northey · 23/04/2012 10:08

Good luck, btw!

Northey · 23/04/2012 10:07

If we're sharing that sort of thing, I could mention that my intestines are feeling somewhat...splattery today. And my hospitals loos are never really soundproof :(

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/04/2012 10:06

A nice walk sounds like a good distraction. Go norfy go. (And I'll pack my bag and find my brolly, it is grey here too).

Northey · 23/04/2012 10:05

Was planning a walk but it looks like rain. I really should get out though.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/04/2012 10:04

Oh, I get so nervous that my tummy is rumbling, it is hardly surprising my intestines play havock with most scans... Let's just hope no wind needs to escape when I am in the stirrups.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/04/2012 10:02

In about 10 minutes norf. Thumb twiddling is annoying. Any chance of something fun or pleasant to do in between?

Northey · 23/04/2012 09:58

When do you leave for iui, lem? I'm not up till this afternoon so am twiddling my thumbs for a few hours.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/04/2012 09:30

No need to get out of bed this early, faith. You are off ill after all. Did MSB go to see the show, btw? I am cold and nervous. Nothing will get done between now and leaving for the iui-time...

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/04/2012 09:26

Yup I'll answer to any of them! Pain not quite so bad this morning but I haven't got out of bed yet! and hadn't got the oomph to fight for a Monday appointment. If I'm no better tomorrow I'll get one then.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/04/2012 09:20

fee or fatih or faith, you know who I mean, right?

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/04/2012 09:19

X-post with your update fatih. You are soooo not being unreasonable. Go with the complaint, it is ridiculous. How can they be surprised about the number of no shows if they send the appointments out this late... Big well done on getting a new one booked for Friday.
