Flightty · 14/04/2012 20:37

Fwiw if it makes anyone feel even remotely better, I just got my bunch of 50 HPTs from Amazon! Gahhhhhhhh Smile They are laughing at me!

Flightty · 14/04/2012 20:36

I'm sorry Spring, hope next month is the one for you xx

lastboxoftampons · 14/04/2012 20:33

Spring so sorry Sad But, yes, Jan babies are clearly the best Smile

Hello Esme

Mummynickleby Sad sorry about AF. Hoping your DH is feeling better soon. It's a blow when it happens normally, nevermind when you're TTCing and the pressure's on. Maybe a few non-babymaking sessions are just what the doctor's ordered!

Empire sorry AF got you too Sad Just picked up my thermometer from the post depot this morning - they tried to deliver it yesterday.

Lime Thanks so much for your words of encouragement about DS - he'll be 3 end of July. He was much sweeter today and even shared a car with another little boy. We went to the circus this afternoon and just now when I was putting him to bed, he came out with this gem "Mommy, when a clown farts, that makes you happy." Indeed....Grin

Treats any news? Hmm GrinWink

LimeLeafLizard · 14/04/2012 20:19

Oh Spring, sorry to hear that, after it was sounding so hopeful, too. But glad to have you around a while longer Smile.

SpringFlowers · 14/04/2012 19:06

Have just polished off a very nice glass of Peter Lehman Shiraz. Period started this afternoon. Feel very sad this evening. Roll on cycle two...looks like we're doing it all over again. Thanks everyone for being so supportive. It seems that January babies are all the rage Smile

LimeLeafLizard · 14/04/2012 09:55

Welcome Esme!

Sorry to hear that you got the bfn Spring*, hope it just means you tested too early. 28 days is good news, isn't it?

Hey MummyNick sorry AF is with you. I agree with what Crazy said about the pressure of having to dtd. Fx you get pregnant soon so the pressure will be off him for a while.

Flightty · 14/04/2012 09:47

Welcome Esme! Smile when are you testing?

Just wanted to say Spring that I hope it holds off for you...would be amazing if you got a BFP. Fx

EsmeGreen · 14/04/2012 09:15

Morning. Room for another? (I'm afraid I havent read all these posts yet) I'm ttc #1, been trying for a couple of months half heartedly and now properly ( I had to have a fibroid op last Christmas so thought I shouldn't push it too soon).

I'd like to add that I AM a Xmas baby and I love it. There's parties and decorations and school is more relaxed on the run up. So let's all go for it.

Crazytictac · 14/04/2012 08:38

Sorry empire and mummynickelby that AF has shown up :(

And hope things will rise to the occasion for you in full throttle again soon mummy. It can be such a stressful time and I guess the more expectation that is put on them to perform makes it harder (no pun intended) for them. Hell I don't want DTD sometimes during the fertile time as it's just so mechanical IYSWIM. Had a lovely session during a non fertile stage this month as the "pressure" was off Blush

SpringFlowers · 14/04/2012 08:36

I posted before I finished there... Somehow I don't feel very optimistic but I can't really explain why. Maybe I just don't want to look like an idiot Grin. Why are the pregnancy symptoms do similar to those for af? It's so annoying!

Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday, so for the me me post. I'll catch up with you all later.

SpringFlowers · 14/04/2012 08:34

Hi Everyone Smile

Sorry for absence yesterday, I went into to school to try to catch up a bit before the start of term, mumsnet is blocked content on school computers! I'm on my phone now so can't easily read back but I'm good to stay on this thread. I think you're all fab! Still no spotting but I did a test yesterday early evening which was negative Sad. Today is day 28 so I did make it past 26 days in the end.

MummyNickleby · 14/04/2012 07:45

Morning all. AF is well nd truly here and behaving normally this month Sad
Going to give it another 2 cycles I think.. Or maybe 3.... Wink
DH is worried about the "performance issues" but he's on leave this next week and, whilst the timing won't be right for conceiving, I think we should dtd every other day (once AF has gone of course) and try and resolve the performance issue.
I do hope it resolves itself soon, it's very unsatisfying worrying Blush

Wiggy29 · 14/04/2012 00:26

If my cycle is 31 days again I'll be due 11th may, seems ages away at the moment.

LimeLeafLizard · 13/04/2012 22:22

Wiggy good idea to update our stats - each person can add their own as and when they're on to the January Sales cycle (apart from the lucky ones who get their present on the Christmas flight Wink)

So:
Wiggy29, TTC #2, Cycle 2, AF due ?
LimeLeafLizard, TTC #4, Cycle 5, AF due around 10 May.

Empire sorry to hear the old woman is with you now too. Hope your thermometer arrives by the time AF leaves so you can start your temping. I ordered mine from Amazon and it also took a while - I think because they come from the US. It is good though - worth the wait.

Lastbox hope you're feeling a bit better now. I know how you feel, DS1 was like that sometimes, mostly around age 3.5 - 4 (he is a lovely boy generally). How old is your DS?
Also, thanks for the encouragement about AF. I remember you and Treats saying something about having a good clear out to make room for a little one to grow. Fx

Wiggy29 · 13/04/2012 20:42

Empire- commiserations but if your anything like me it was just a sense of relief as the am I/aren't I? was driving me nuts.

Lastbox- generally these things are a bit of a testing the boundaries thing and as long as you are firm and nip it in the bud, I doubt you have much to worry about.

So, if we're staying on this thread: TTC no 2, cycle 2, day 3 (past period) excuse that I'm still not savvy with all the proper abbreviations!

EmpireBiscuit · 13/04/2012 16:16

Just read your post lastbox I don't have any helpful suggestions regarding the hitting. I don't think anything other than "durrr must be at that stage" if I ever see it. I certainly don't think anything negative about the bub or the parents.

I'm excited there are stuff some chances of a couple of sleigh babies! Keep us updated!

EmpireBiscuit · 13/04/2012 16:07

She's here!!!! X

blackcatsdancing · 13/04/2012 15:26

treats think we're going to be 2WW buddies. I'm expecting my temp rise tomorrow, did think it would come today but today i got a dip which i also got the month i conceived. Anyway 2WW agony coming up.

lastboxoftampons · 13/04/2012 14:27

Treats so happy your ov finally found you! Smile On to the 2ww, huh? Your due dates all sound promising! And I'm going to venture that CD23 is a lucky day to ov! Wink

Lime sorry AF is a b!tch today Sad but as Treats and I were discussing before, we both had a horrible one the month we got pregnant, so fingers crossed for you!

Empire think you're right about Amazon! where is my thermometer!?!? Though we were out this morning and had not one, but two dreaded missed package red slips through our door while we were gone. The post depot is so far away Angry

PMSL about BOGOF babies! DH is a twin - but they're identical, which is not hereditary. As I love to tell him, they're just a freak of nature! My mother's brother (fraternal) and my father's sister (identical) both have twins too, plus my paternal great grandmother was a fraternal twin - but I think it all just misses us as it's fraternal twins through your mother's line that are the type that are hereditary, as it means you have a tendency to release more than one egg at once if that makes sense. Though we've always been pretty adamant about 2 children and no more, so I'm sure we're likely to have twins second time around! Wink

I'm a bit down this afternoon as I'm upset with DS and I hate to be. While we were out this morning, he hit the two other little boys we were with a few times. There was a time just after he turned 2 that he was in a hitting phase, but we haven't had a problem in a long time. Can't help but take it personally when he behaves so badly Sad not to mention feeling horrible for the other boys and their mums. I don't know why he was acting like this, he's usually pretty good. Makes me question wanting another...

EmpireBiscuit · 13/04/2012 13:26

blackcat if my thermOmeter ever arrives amazon are thieves I will be onto you for advise on what it all means.

Still no AF and still getting a BFN - I am getting increasingly peeved with the situation. 2 days late now, not a lot a know but generally I could set my watch by her (Obvs not really as that would be weird, a 28 day watch, but you knows what I mean).

Poor lime - lots of chocolate and hot water bottles. Im a firm believer in exercise being the best thing for it but I am told i am strange.

LimeLeafLizard · 13/04/2012 12:21

I might have to read the info in the link a bit later though when I have a bit longer!

LimeLeafLizard · 13/04/2012 12:19

hi blackcats, those statistics are really interesting. I think in my case we have been timing it right but that perhaps eggs are failing to implant.

My AF, who is normally a gentle, prompt and tidy old lady, is a bit out of character this month. Late, stronger than usual and causing me a lot of pain. I know some women have this all the time and it is awful. Still, day 2 of new cycle, try to stay optimistic.

Treats great to hear you finally got the temp rise, and Grin at all the possible due dates! All very Christmassy ones, which is pleasing!

Not sure I would manage with a BOGOF baby (twins)! But one costing half the usual price would be great! January sales here I come!

blackcatsdancing · 13/04/2012 12:08

this is quite interesting, (is about LH surge and fertile period), for anyone with plenty of time to spare ! Draws on several pieces of research over the years .

blackcatsdancing · 13/04/2012 11:49

that's ok :)
Its just a statistical thing. The fertile window is usually said to be 6 days, 5 prior to day of ovulation and ov day itself, however the best chance statistically of conceiving occurs day before ov, the further you are from that the lower your chances. Day after Ovulation has no chance of success according to most research. Day of Ov lower than day before.

Flightty · 13/04/2012 11:37

Oh thankyou SO much for that. It's just what I needed to hear. Thanks

I hear you about implantation etc, too. Just want to maximise our chance and not feel so despondent.
