lime I love my Mooncup. I've been using mine for 10 years now. I've just had to buy a new one as age has meant I needed the bigger size!

Well in the Pipbin house AF seems to have stayed away, although poas shows a BFN.

LimeLeafLizard · 21/04/2012 22:01

Oh no, Pipbin and Treats, so sorry to hear it isn't looking good, although I am holding out hope for you both.

Treats if AF does come overnight at least you have the comfort of knowing you've already kicked off the process with the doctor and can look forward to the bloods on Monday to find out what is going on with your lp.

BTW, thinking of you stocking up in Sainsbos, do any of you use a Mooncup? I heard about it on MN, bought one, and have never looked back. It is brilliant - so much easier, more comfortable, cheaper over time, and more environmentally friendly than sanitary products.
I really have now used my last box of tampons!

blackcats thanks for the Asda tests tip - will check out next time I am there.

I have a throbbing headache. Please can I have a night off dtd tonight?! It is cd10 so peak is not until early next week anyways.

Treats · 21/04/2012 21:15

Can't believe it!! 8DPO and AF has started....... Sad Sad Sad

Had a bit of spotting last night but it didn't feel like period bleeding. Figured I'd hang on until my morning temp to see whether it was actually AF or implantation bleed. Trouble was, my temp wasn't conclusive - it was a tenth above the coverline, and only just below yesterday's. As today's gone on, however, I don't think there's much doubt. I've had some very grim pains and continued bleeding. It's not been heavy - not the like the first days of my last few periods - but it's been consistent.

So that's it - no Christmas baby for me. No 2012 baby for me either...... And clearly something's not right - even if DH and I had managed to fertilise an egg, it could never have implanted with a luteal phase of only 8 days.

At least I've kick started things with the GP - I'll go in on Monday and get my Day 3 bloods done and take it from there. DH (bless him) has said that he's happy to have his tests done too, but I think it clear that there's a fairly significant hormone malfunction going on here. On the bright side, that ought to be a fairly easy thing to fix. I know it's quite easy to take progesterone to sort out luteal phase issues.

lbot - thought of you today as I loaded up my Sainsbury's trolley with Tampax........

Pipbin - sharing your pain here, but hanging onto a shred of hope for you.

blackcats - sorry I can't be your poas buddy now, but I've got fx.

Pipbin · 21/04/2012 18:42

I think it might be game over for me.
Red spotting with small clots.

I know it's not over until AF sings but I think it's close.

blackcatsdancing · 21/04/2012 18:17

limeleaflizard i still test early but my excuse is i'm using those super cheap papery sticks so not wasting much money. I don't get upset at an early negative as i know it may be false, i suppose i read some women saying it was all over because they tested negative at 10 or 11 DPO when testing that early isn't reliable. I just hope i'll be a lucky person who gets a very early positive. Bit silly really as last years pregnancy i got a faint positive on 13DPO , doubt anything would have have shown the day before - this was in days of buying supermarket tests- BTW ASDA do a great own brand one.

ChairOfTheBored · 21/04/2012 11:04

Thanks last.

We're off to Jo'burg,I don't think we'll safari, but will think carefully about where we travel to while we're there to avoid malaria (not a bad thing to aim for what ever your TTC status I guess!)

lastboxoftampons · 21/04/2012 10:04

Hello Chair Great name! Grin Just wanted to say that we went to SA when I was about 26 weeks pg - eek! Are you doing safari or anything? Might just want to consider going to non-malarial zones if you are, as you won't be able to take the meds if you're pregnant.

Hi Roxy pre-seed worked for us first time around! So fingers crossed for you!

Lime glad to hear your sons tests went well. FX for good results!

Pip and Wigg I say just go and enjoy. There's no telling if you are or if you aren't at this point and a few drinks can't really hurt the baby at this early stage.

Treats Sorry you've had a bad day Sad emotional is a good sign! Wink

1dpo here! :) Of course won't be completely confirmed that I ov'd until I have three high temps, but this morning's temp was definitely in my post o range. Unfortunately we didn't get to DTD last night...Hmm but did the two nights before. So hopefully that's enough. ACtually looking back on my charts, with DS we didn't DTD on the day of OV, just the day before.

ChairOfTheBored · 21/04/2012 09:05

Thanks for the welcome. Good luck to all those testing soon. I'll be restraining myself from buying any sticks to pee on until next weekend... It's going to be a long week!

LimeLeafLizard · 20/04/2012 21:17

Hey roxy good to see you again. Hope you're ok.

What was the pre-seed like to use? I've never tried it. Where do you get it from?
Yes, keep playing the odds! I have my fx for you too.

roxy31 · 20/04/2012 19:53

Hello ladies I have been snoozing for a long time. Took a bit of a break after af. However now another friend pg and after feeling blue about it i have brushed myself off! Will try and catch up with all the recent events.

I'm 2 dpo today and tried preseed for the first time rhis month. Fx - feeling positive, odds are it must happen soon right?

LimeLeafLizard · 20/04/2012 19:35

And thanks all for the good wishes for DS. The tests went OK. He was very good and sat still-ish with all the wires etc attached to him for nearly 2 hours. We won't get the results until mid May.

It was actually quite nice to spend a day with just him - being the middle child it is rare that I get time with him 1-1. It was a long slog into London and back though. The worst moment was when we had lunch in a cafe surrounded by City suited types and he had a major tantrum because there was lettuce in his chicken sandwich! Hmm

LimeLeafLizard · 20/04/2012 19:29

Wiggy / Pipbin I have been in that situation many times - there seems to be a reason to drink socially every month that I am TTC (says much about my life?!). I agree that the answer is to have a drink or two but not more, just in case.

blackcats, need to credit you with the interesting info upthread that persuaded me it was pointless to test before AF is due although I will still do it

Crazy sorry you're out Wine. It is disappointing every time, I know. Take the Xmas decorations down and get ready for the January sales.

Rudawakening I hope you find out soon one way or another. The waiting is so frustrating.

Treats sorry you've had all those nigglesome things lately. They stack up sometimes, so don't feel bad about being teary.

Chair, welcome, good name!

Pipbin · 20/04/2012 18:31

Wiggy Its my birthday party tomorrow, 8dpo and I'm thinking the same thing. I'm thinking I'll drink, but not get drunk. If implantation has happened I don't think that there is a shared blood flow so it won't make a difference.

Wiggy29 · 20/04/2012 18:23

Limeleaf-Hope today wasn't too awful and you don't have long to wait for results.

Crazy- what a pain but like you say, on wards and upwards with the next.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma as realised friend's hen do is actually weekend before AF is due, so too early to test. Do I just enjoy myself or be more cautious just in case? I've asked around my friends and generally they said I should just enjoy a drink as I don't drink through the week and rarely at weekends (probably once every few months) and it could be months before we conceive. What do you guys reckon?

Rudawakening · 20/04/2012 16:50

Im pretty sure i am out for an Xmas baby, no AF yet but still bfn, just wish AF would hurry up now so we can start again.

Good luck to all those testing soon x

ChairOfTheBored · 20/04/2012 14:11

May I tentatively step aboard?

4DPO, and long haul flights to South Africa booked for November - I figure I may as well tempt fate, as playing nicely with the fates has got me nowhere so far...

Not feeling at all optimistic, though we did SWI our little bottoms off this month (happy conincidence of ovulation around a weekend, which meant we were both less knackered so actually did it for fun as much as anything - sigh I remember those days)

blackcatsdancing · 20/04/2012 13:46

limeleaflizard hope your son's tests show good things and set your mind at rest.
Hmm i've now read that some people do get temp dip most months. I've not noticed it before and i didn't get it the month i got pregnant.

Crazytictac · 20/04/2012 12:48

limeleaf hope your son's tests results were ok (I do know from personal experience with my DS how horrible it is waiting for tests results so I fully sympathise) hope things went well.

AF rocked up this morning. 2 days earlier than expected so quite pleased in a way to be put out of my misery sooner and onto the next cycle.

Good luck to you ladies still in the 2ww

OP posts:
Treats · 20/04/2012 12:37

Ooh limeleaflizard - pleased to hear about your low temps at 7dpo. Was feeling a bit pooh because I've had two lowish temps in a row and thought it was probably a bad sign. But I'm 8dpo today, so maybe it's just a routine thing.

In fact, just looked at last month's chart and 8dpo was a low before two higher temps. Feeling better now - thanks for that Wink Hope everything goes OK for your DS today - nothing major I hope.

Lots of little things going wrong over the last 24 hours (travel to work, irritating colleagues - nothing major), but I find I don't have the resilience to cope with everyday stresses like I used to, and have got quite teary. Who's to say that it's not actually PMT though? or pregnancy hormones

LimeLeafLizard · 20/04/2012 10:10

Hi - Crazy don't get too disheartened yet. After reading the info posted (by Spring, I think) upthread, it makes you realise that testing at 10 / 11 dpo, even with clearblue, isn't very accurate. Fx for you anyway.

pip If you are pg, the spotting could be implantation (that would be great), but if you're not, what could it be? I agree with lastbox that it might be worth getting checked.

blackcats low temp could be implantation dip (hope so) bur I have noticed I often get a lower temp about 7 dpo in most cycles, and had false hope because of it.

Thinking of all of you in the 2ww. X

I'm off to take DS to the hospital today for some tests - really nervous.

lastboxoftampons · 20/04/2012 08:25

Pip - is this normal for you? I often have strange spotting around that time too. Was meant to see my GP about it this past month but appointment was cancelled. Do you have any history of fibroids or PCOS?

Pipbin · 19/04/2012 23:58

Remember that ov happens when EWCM stops.

Red spotting today at 6 dpo. Fed up now.

SilentMammoth · 19/04/2012 23:16

Bugger. Suspiciously EW looking CM and DH away til Sunday.

Wiggy29 · 19/04/2012 23:00

Haha, just realised how crude an image the reindeer pulling a second coming out of santa's sack is! Sorry about that, honestly didn't mean that when I typed it.

Wiggy29 · 19/04/2012 22:58

What's that you say Empire...? Immaculate conception? Surely an omen if ever there was one for a 'true' Christmas baby? If the reindeers manage to pull the second coming out of santa's sack I'd be very impressed! : ) (pops cork&pours everyone a cheeky glass of bubbles).
