Wiggy29 · 26/03/2012 19:14

I'm not even sure I can join this. AF due 09/04, Cycle 1, trying to concieve DC number 2 after a 7 year gap and DS 1 was not planned- I feel very clueless!

asianbabe · 26/03/2012 18:02

Hey everyone
Trying to update my stats but can't stupid iPhone can someone add me

Asianbabe (35) Cycle 11 TTC no 3 Af due 20th April

Just realized its going to be nearly a whole year since I started TTC Sad

LimeLeafLizard · 26/03/2012 17:42

Pinkie I really recommend the book 'Taking Charge of your Fertility' for information on how to chart. Even if you use Fertility Friend it is still really useful read. I bought it from amazon but I'm sure you could get it in the library if you didn't want to pay until you were sure you'd use it.

I made up a chart in Excel to record my info.

combatqueen · 26/03/2012 17:30

Hi pinkie, welcome. Essentially you need to get a basal body thermometer and take your temp at the same time every morning as soon as you wake up before doing anything else at all. Make a note of your temperature and plot it on a chart. I use "fertility friend" on my phone (most smart phones have it as an ap or you can do it online), i just sit back and let the fertility friend do all the calculating for me. It calculates your average temp over the last 6 days and plots a "cover line" once you have 3 temperatures above that line you know you have ovulated and it plots ovulation on your graph.

Pinkie29 · 26/03/2012 10:36

Can anyone give any help/advice on temping? I've just started today but am unsure exactly what I'm looking for and what it's supposed to show? x

Thanks Lime, DH and I are moving out of the area we are in now so that we can afford a house, it?s a 60's build 3 bed semi-detached. It has a lovely big living area thanks to a great big single story extension and a lovely garden. It been lived in since new by this couple who are now in 80's so as you can imagine the decor isn't exactly to our taste. So lots of decorating to do, which will be fun whilst suffering from early pregnancy symptoms.

crazy i hope you are right about these things coming in 3's; DH is waiting to find out about a new job and a BFP would round it all off nicely.

Crazytictac · 26/03/2012 08:17

Thanks pipbin. Maybe worth a shot. Hmm, not that keen on carrying on with the CB fertility monitor as didn't realise how expensive sticks were! However on day 8 it's given me a high, very unexpected so gotta get back on it (no pun intended).

Still no AF for you then....think you might have to give up your seat on the sleigh....!

OP posts:
Pipbin · 25/03/2012 23:37

crazy I charted for a few cycles without temping and still found it useful as a way to track AF and bd'ing.
I tend to wake up in the night too, however I understand that it only a problem if you get up.

Crazytictac · 25/03/2012 23:32

Ah fab you saved me a job limeleaf, I did think about updating the stats list earlier but got sidetracked with a glass of wine, another Easter egg and Dexter on DVD. Hope you get several moments of peace Wink.

Good idea too frenchlime it can get a bit jiggery pokey to read sometimes.

For you charters, is it easy to do? I rarely sleep through so not sure if that would make a difference for temps etc

LimeLeafLizard · 25/03/2012 23:09

Glad you got the broadband working again treats. Yes I'm charting using my homemade chart in MS Excel, all based on Taking Charge of your Fertility. It is really useful to understand more about my body.

I think you're doing really well to have your cycle settling down so quickly after being pregnant. I hope this is your month. My very lovely friend lost her first daughter at birth and then went on to have her second exactly a year later. This little girl is now 7 years old and she has a younger sister and brother too.

LimeLeafLizard · 25/03/2012 22:59

Hey French that's funny, it obviously took us both a while to type up all the stats! Agree it is better to put AF due date, gives an idea when we'll be testing, too. I guess the number after your name is your age, right? I am 36...

I am enjoying a glass of Wine tonight too. I have given up chocolate for lent (although I broke it when AF was visiting Blush).

Had a good weekend - busy in the garden and SWI when we have a moments peace. DH put the trampoline up for the kids again... good to have summer on the way.

hope you all have a (ahem) productive week!

Treats · 25/03/2012 22:58

No broadband for two days so haven't been able to get back on (spent most of Friday on the phone to broadband people, doing my best to fix it. DH just looks at the router and it suddenly starts working again. Clearly it malfunctioned once it couldn't detect any testosterone....)

Congrats debeez and Strawberry! Obviously we're a lucky thread. Hope everything goes well for you.

Panda - if you're going somewhere with a good local vineyard, suggest a trip out to do a tasting session. Oh, no - wait - you'll be the only person able to go!

AF all done and dusted now - thank goodness. It wasn't as heavy as last time, which I think is a good sign. I'm not sure that things had totally settled down after the pregnancy during my last cycle, so a more 'normal' period suggests that we're getting back on track.

Is anyone else charting by the way? I've got my copy of Taking Charge of your Fertility and revived my membership of Fertility Friend. It's really helpful for knowing what's going on in your cycle - if I hadn't been charting I wouldn't have known that I ov'd really late last time round, and would have driven myself crazy when my period was late as well, if I hadn't already known.

FrenchLimeBlossom · 25/03/2012 22:39

Someone keep my seat for me.

AF is still sitting outside waiting. However, she has been notable by her absence today! I got a BFN but it's only 10dpo. There is still hope.

YaYaOC · 25/03/2012 16:15

I'm jumping on board too! Definitely seems like a lucky one!
TTC #1, cycle #2 AF due around 7th of April (only came off the pill two months ago so cycles are sorting themselves out!)
Lets hope Santa takes note!
Have been SWI every day/other day this month so far, am bloody exhausted but surely it cant all be in vain and I will get my BFP!

LimeLeafLizard · 25/03/2012 15:57

Hi Cejay, my AF is due 10 April too, so maybe we can test at the same time.

Sorry AF arrived Pinkie.

Pinkie29 · 25/03/2012 15:37

That's ttc no 1 not sure why the hash doesn't work in my phone!

Pinkie29 · 25/03/2012 15:36

Can I join the race please? Just had the horrible old witch arrive!

Ttc %231 third cycle cd1

Cejay8 · 25/03/2012 14:22

I'm ready to join the sleigh please! AF due April 10th.

I used to think we'd take a break from TTC in April/may as didn't really want a dec/jan baby. How silly is that! Smile

Pipbin · 24/03/2012 22:53

Well i think I might be heading this way. AF is standing on the doorstep shaking the snow off her boots and I think she'll have arrived properly by morning.

Hi everyone
I'm back to see what 'presents' arrive for us on this festive sleigh! Crazy thanks for steering and big wave to all the new girls!

Lime with all our opks and Internet tests I bet we could decorate tons of trees! Ha.

So with my short cycle Im on cd 13 already, no doubt the next 2 weeks will drag though - cue my spot here with you all to keep me sane!! :)

Roxy31: cycle 9 ttc#1 af due 6th April

Debeez · 24/03/2012 21:24

This will be a very unusual Christmas tree Limeleaf :o

LimeLeafLizard · 24/03/2012 20:37

Ho ho ho... Santa has been giving out bfp pressies on this thread already... congratulations ladies!

Panda I really feel for you considering your holiday companions! Bitter irony there. I think you have to look at it like Crazy said, it is definitely your turn next! Is it you going to Florida? (sorry I remember it was someone on the last thread!)

Welcome purple and pinkie... getting colourful here, isn't it?!

I am so impressed with our Christmas tree. In addition to the reindeer fertility charm, maybe we need to decorate with a few spare sticks ready for the coming POAS-fest?! Not sure how pretty that would be!

Hope those of you mid-cycle are SWI-ing away this weekend. DH is back from his travels so we can again!
