So, went to my scan and saw...

A yolk sac shaped blob, a baby shaped blob and a flickering little heartbeat! Yay! Still not getting our hopes up - we got to this point last time and ended up with a MMC - but it's a good start. And the consultant was generally positive, my blood tests have come back normal and I'm booked in for another scan in 2 weeks. Fingers crossed...

Hope everyone's doing ok, I want to be outside in the sunshine instead of behind my desk...

martha sorry I missed that AF had arrived :( I have kicked her hard and she knows not to come back next time ok!

missc that is terrible they can;t see you until Friday, can you ask your midwife for an appointment instead that really is silly if you need antibiotics you need to be seen pronto.

pebs that is great news about all the appointments, it feels good to be doing something positive I imagine.

I had spotting for ages after my last chemical, I think 2 weeks, I had some acupuncture and she burnt some moxa by my toe and it stopped. It might be coincedence but it seemed to do the trick!!

mrsn I am sorry that things are so unclear still and you have taken the decision to stop trying, have a hug from me.

Morning all, hope you have sunshine outside today
Woke up at 1.30 this morning with very strong "contraction" type pains, every few minutes for about an hour.
Took my beloved solpadol, and the pains went off. I expected that may possibly be the final touches, but bleeding is no heavier.

Feel good today though, got a list of things i need to do today, so going to get cracking, list includes going to GP for sick note and contraception to never allow this to happen to me again that is just so very very final and breaks my heart .
Time to face up to bare facts and bite the bullet.

i feel like i have a lot of appointments on the go at the moment and i am lurching around a bit. i am just going to pop them all down here to organise my mind a bit.

1. appointment with local consultant at end of month. this is organised by the hospital and hopefully they will have genetic testing results ready following erpc. i am not holding out any hope that there will have been a genetic problem and it was one of those things. i think it is most likely that my body couldn't handle identical twins - again it was one of those things and i was unlucky to concieve identical twins.

1. appointment with private consultant mid may. i have organised this myself as i would like the TEG test and this is only done at st marys in london. it detects blood clotting problems which other tests cannot pick up. as my placenta was full of blood clots after my 20 week mc and the nhs tests have come back clear i am hoping the TEG will show something up and the consulatant will be able to prescribe the correct dose of asprin and heparin rather than the nhs 'let's give it a go' approach.

1. appointment at epu on thursday. i have organsied this to check up on the brown spotting and positive pg test. i will test again on thursday morning and if i get bfn i will cancel this appointment.

1. acupuncture. this really helped my cycle after last mc and it's very relaxing. also it's cheap and i can go in work time!

in my area you can refer yourself to epu to get early scans after previous miscarriage mumtum. try giving them a ring, they might want a referral from your gp in some areas.

barbados is one of my dream holidays - i am hoping i don't need to go on anymore dream holidays as i will be pg and having babies but i have been on a few since i started ttc . although i did say to dh at weekend that i wanted to go on a honeymoon type holiday!

i have booked in for a acupunture session at work. we have a clinic here and it's only £10 a go in works time as well - bonus! the guy i was seeing last time was £30 a session as i didn't realise they did it here. i am hoping it will help to clear up the spotting and get me back on track. if nothing else, it's very relaxing.

Manda et all think I may have confused peeps my last cp was June last year so this defo a new one !! Metalling though as the mc in dec 2010 stopped growing at 5 weeks but natural mc didn't happen til 8 weeks ..... If I get to 6 weeks this time with no bleeding etc I'd Like to go for a scan at epu to check for a heart beat do u think they would allow that ??

And defo manda get out to Barbados if you have the opportunity it is blooming gorgeous !!!!!

tiago I am also feeling so much better and have been for the past couple of days. I am also 11 weeks and started panicking but as your doc says the odds are in our favour. I think the placenta is taking over now and often means a decrease symptoms. When is your scan? Mine is next Thurs

Hi all, no news here. Am 11 weeks today and no sign of bleeding or anything. Have been getting very anxious as my tiredness and nausea have pretty much vanished, but am trying to convince myself that the doc said all looked fine and that I had less than a 1% chance of it all going wrong.

MissC - thrush is a yeast infection that makes your bits itchy and hot, and some people treat it by putting natural yoghurt on the affected area . When you get it you get thick white discharge. It can also be cleared by very very thorough cleaning sometimes I get rid of the white stuff.

I had a late night last night, I'm feeling it this morning and naturally I didn't even drink!

My news came out at college yesterday, I quietly told my tutor not realising a couple of students stood behind me who got rather excited and told the whole floor. Tbh I feel a little better with people knowing and not having to hide it.
My friend at college is 7 weeks, she told everyone after she had POAS, her parents are doing up their out building for her and her P to live in when the baby is born but yet are sending her to college without food, I know she is a grown up now but I thought the priorities a little off there.

I also sat in front of a big plate of spaghetti Bolognese last night in out local Italian, unable to eat a bite because my stomach was doing flip flops, then had to explain to the waiter that although it was lovely, I had an unwell tummy.

Thanks for the advice, I rang the surgery. Soonest I can be seen is late Friday afternoon, by locum doctor, nearly three weeks after the sample was taken - soonest I can see the midwife is May 4th My appointment for dildocam is before then.

So guess there's nothing to be done. I've never had an infection there before. Never had thrush, secretly don't really know what it is. I hear it has something to do with yoghurt. Is it the same as cystitis, never had that either. Something to do with cranberries? I should know these things.

martha There are lots of great dates in 2013. 3/1/13? 13/1/13? 1/3/13? How about one of those. Remember if I pop this one out when it's due, you've still got like another 8 months before you need to conceive for them to be in the same school year. It's no time.

I am mainly worried about this brown spotting being the same as i had before and during the last pg. the normal bleeding has gone but this is left behind. it might be something weird going on.

i am using ic's so can't really tell if they are fading as they never really looked strong in the first place (if you can remember back to some very early pg mentalling!!). i will test again on thursday morning (which will be four weeks since erpc) and if it's bfn i won't bother going to epu and might try accu to sort me out. if it's still positive i will pop along and see what they say.

gah, lots of x posting and DF has just walked in with McDonalds (blurgh, but yum. But really blurgh) so not much time.

missC it's likely a combo of increased blood flow and hormone changes - lots of women get very swollen 'down there' in pregnancy (and every pregnancy IS different so don't panic too much if it hasn't happened before). But could be thrush, a side-effect of your uti, an irritation/allergic reaction (perhaps from the condom they use with the dilcocam? How long ago was that scan?), and, randomly, I've become more sensitive to DF when we have sex. Not always, just sometimes. I get swollen and sore, then the next day it's fine. Odd. But obviously a variation of normal. Anyway, don't panic too much about it, and get thee to the GP re: your letter. It's not desperately urgent (hence the letter rather than a call) but does need sorting.

I bled/spotted for 3 weeks post erpc and was getting the faintest 'bfp' still up until about then too... when you say you're still getting positives, pebs are they very faint or at least getting fainter or still quite clear/strong?

For me, I took the tests every 3 or 4 days and could see them getting lighter. That kinda reassured me, as much as the bleeding/spotting was going on for weeks, and as much as I was getting positives, they were moving in the right direction.

If you notice a funny smell, pain, or start to feel flu-ish/ill then getting checked becomes a priority but I would be waiting it out a little more in the absence of any of that and if my tests were getting lighter.

Bear in mind that your loss occured at a time when the hcg starts to peak and also that you had two in there! So you can expect it take a little while longer than 'average' perhaps?

Now, are you really asking me whether you should take the high doese B vits? My automatic answer to ANYONE ttc would be a resounding yes! If only because of the improved egg quality (like, duh, who doesn't want their eggs to be the best they can be if they're looking to fertilise 'em?) but also because of the other positive effects it has on cycle/hormone balancing, stress levels, improved hair/skin/nails...

mumtum lovely news! Although, just to check, you did test until you got a negative following your loss, right? As you can see with pebs and my experience, it's quite possible for everything to be 'fine' but you still get a faint bfp for some weeks...

My ex has a place in Barbados (it's his permanent residence although he's only there three months of the year - a tax dodge thing (and before that makes anyone crazy, he's French Canadian so not 'evading' here )) . He says I should go... so maybe I will one day, albeit with at least two littlies and DF in tow!

Well as I was still quite disbelieving so I went and brought a double pack of cb digis ( knowing next week I will want to know if that conception indicator changes) and even poas at lunch time I was amazed said pregnant 2-3 So not even the 1-2 I was expecting I stopped metalling for all of half a minute befor rapidly working out when I could pee on the next one to see if it goes up to 3+

Really is a honeymoon bean though I could see years ago how it may have been more of a shotgun wedding

missC deep breaths, sure you have done already but call the fecking midwife, your Go and anyone else that can get you decent antibiotics. Sure it will be fine but they need to sort you like NOW. I think from mr google the swollen fanjo could be just extra blood but also worth reporting when you speak to the midwife. Good luck and let us know how you get on x x totally useless writing to you.
