Doppler you say midget?

How many weeks are you?
I could do with some de metalling! I'm only 10+1 but I have 3 weeks until my next scan, I swear symptoms are less today

I wonder is a Doppler would do me more harm or good?

Hope everyone's well. Smile

Midgetm · 22/04/2012 15:14

Been on a few days holiday and come back to a ghost board. Can only assume this is a good sign of a metalling free weekend.

Congratulations on team pink holly.

My cheap Doppler from eBay seems to be keeping the metalling at bay. Wise investment, For now. Anyways hope you are all having a lovely weekend x

BlueCrane · 20/04/2012 17:40

Just dropping in to say hello

poppy fab news on the scan

All those who AF has inconsiderately paid a visit to - v sorry and hope you're doing ok.

Those waiting to test or enduring the WTF cycle...hang in there!

manda not long now lady! I've avoided the BHs so far but am truly sick of acid reflux and heartburn and have drunk so much gaviscon that my LO may well develop a taste for Pernod in later life Wink

I've been v grumpy this week with a stinking cold but the light at the end of the tunnel is finishing work at the end of next week Shock can't quite believe it's all happening...35weeks on Tuesday...eeeek!!!

Sorry for not posting much...I am lurking to see how you're all getting on!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 20/04/2012 15:45

They're yours boris if you pm me your address I'll pop them in the post Monday.

I called the CSA they'll do the usual and chase the payment Hmm

I would always chose paracetamol over Aspirin personally but I do have blood clotting ishoos.

leedy · 20/04/2012 15:21

Damn, no bringing an empty suitcase and filling it up with smellies...

WhyAlwaysBoris · 20/04/2012 14:59

Oh sorry i'd forgotten about the gig, you did mention it upthread somewhere! I hope it goes well and you get lots of naps. The other day i was reading a v old thread about a woman whose posh hotel wrote to her after she left asking for the rest of the bottle of shampoo back as taking it disrupted their green policy of refilling! You have been warned! Am going to take paracetamol now, thanks.

leedy · 20/04/2012 14:52

Sadly, I don't have the weekend off - I have to play a gig in another city (scheduled before I got my BFP!). I am, however, going to go down early and have booked myself into a ridiculously nice hotel. Naptastic! Room service!

I'm pretty sure you can take anything you like for AF cramps (well, er, within reason) and it won't have any effect on the following month's TTC. You just shouldn't take aspirin (unless prescribed) or ibuprofen when actually preg.

WhyAlwaysBoris · 20/04/2012 14:21

leedy don't worry, i've met the worse employee ever they work with my husband and its definitely not you!! It will pass. Do you have the weekend off to rest? Can you stay in bed and demand to be waited on?

WhyAlwaysBoris · 20/04/2012 14:20

I'd love them Tits, although i' sure you will have other takers, should be like freecycle where they tell you not to give to the first person who replies in case the more needy don't have easy internet access :)

How did you get on with the CSA??

Quick metalling question- i've got bad AF cramps- should i take paracetamol or aspirin, can either be bad in terms of f*ing things up for next month- completely mad i know but the sort of thing i do then torture myself with after.

leedy · 20/04/2012 14:14

Urgh, how does anyone else cope with work during the first tri? Between the bleurghs and the exhaustion and the metalling, I feel like the Worst Employee Ever.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 20/04/2012 14:08

Btw, I was going to ask (hope it's ok) I still have 13 ic tests, does anyone want them? I don't want anything for them, they were ebay bundles!

I can safely say if things don't work out this time we'll be waiting a good year to try again so it seems silly me keeping them.

Let me know and I can post them on Monday. Smile

WhyAlwaysBoris · 20/04/2012 13:18

AF just arrived early so i'm out for 2012. Gutted.

MandaHugNKiss · 20/04/2012 13:16

carina as a charter, I learned quite a lot about reading the natural signs our bodies give us when we're fertile/not fertile... BUT following mc the signs can be confusing.

However, generally speaking, if you are having clear, stretchy discharge (known as egg white cervical mucus or EWCM) then your body is entering a fertile state, preparing to ovulate. The EWCM is the perfect transport mode for the sperm to get to where it needs to be and they can live in it for several days. Again, generally speaking, it dries up when you ovulate. So, I would be inclined to say that you are either about to ovulate or have very very recently (within a day or so).

But here's the thing - if you're having lots of sex it could be left over semen you're seeing. There is a way to test, if you're not too squeamish:

Get a glass of water. Get a 'sample' of your (hopefully) ewcm - between two fingers by kinda 'pinching' inside is quite an easy way. Put the sample into the water - if it sinks to the bottom, it's EWCM. If it floats or disintergrates, it's semen.

Also, some women take a few months to get back to normal and their body will try, sometimes repeatedly, to ovulate, but not actually manage it. The only way you could be sure is if you are charting your temps or if you get a bfp Wink.

But as I say, the signs are that you are fertile right now so go with that and carry on having sex until the ewcm dries up (progesterone after you ovulate makes it dry up).

As for testing, you will want to wait at LEAST 10/11 days after being sure you ovulated. This is early to get a positive and you'd need a sensitive test, but if you really can't wait the full 2ww, then it's not tooooo crazy to test at 10/11 dpo if you have a sensitive test.

Oh, welcome and good luck!

Cakeplease · 20/04/2012 13:02

Carina I agree with GrandPoohBah wait 14 days after you think you ov'd. A first response may pick it up earlier than that but might also give you a false negative and potentially unnecessary disappointment. I'm in a similar position as you. Miscarried just under a month ago, natural & over relatively quickly (bfn sion after)thought i ov'd 11 days ago and had lots of sex. So tempted to test...... Feeling slightly nauseous, tired and wondering if I am pg??? Or just delusional post m/c. Obviously totally symptom spotting too. Booooooo hate this!!! Got a first response left over in the cupboard, staring at me!!!!!

GrandPoohBah · 20/04/2012 11:32

Hi Carina, welcome.

If I were you, I'd ignore your usual cycles for the time being - the first one after an ERPC or miscarriage is known here as the WTF?! cycle for good reason!

If you know when you ovulated, you should wait to test until approximately 14dpo (days post ovulation). It takes about that long for the egg to get fertilised, implant and start producing the hormone you're testing for.

Good luck!

CarinaP · 20/04/2012 10:56

Can anyone help me please??

1st Ovulation after ERPC without a period...when to test???

So i had a MMC (baby stopped growing at 6 wks) but this wasn't confirmed til i was 12 wks, i then went on to have an ERPC on the 7th March. I only bled for 4 days and 2 weeks later we have been ttc again. It didn't happen in the first month even though i was having all the symptoms it turns out that this is completley normal even when there is no pregnancy hormone present

Anyway on 17th April i did an ovulation test and it came up positive :-) I also had the clear stretchy discharge and still have it so i am quite excited that my body seems to be returning back to normal again So we have been trying since Tues (everyday) and i'm just trying to figure out when i would need to do a test or from what date would i be classed as being in the 2WW?? My period is normally 30 days and based on taking ERPC as the first day of my period I would of been due 5th April so i would next be due 4th May which means i can started testing 27th April????

1st day of last period 7th March
Due on 5th April (didn't come on)
Started Ovulating 17th April
Due on 4th May

My head is spinning a bit now, i hope someone can make sense of my dates and hopefully give me some advice :-)

Moominsarescary · 20/04/2012 09:39

Thanks manda had put in my big long post that I found braxton hicks were earlier and stronger with each pg, as were after pains. Not long now though!

MandaHugNKiss · 20/04/2012 08:57

Cake for brekkie sounds great moomin although AF arriving not so great. Sorry the old witch is with you, hopefully the last time for a while!

Moominsarescary · 20/04/2012 08:39

Puts down chocolate cake

Just wrote a huge post and lost it

Anyway hope everyone is ok

Af has arrived so I want cake.

HeeHeeHeeBum · 20/04/2012 08:16

Morning everyone. I'm enjoying the last of my blue cheese on toast for breakfast before I start TTC again. I most definitely have AF now so it won't be long. If my cycles have returned to normal I should be testing by the middle of May. Just need to get out my ov sticks now :)

It's nice to see some good news on here from those that are pg - I hope more of us can join you soon.

TitsalinaBumSquash I love your name.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 20/04/2012 07:41

Morning ladies. Smile

Great news poppy On your scan.

I'm raging this morning, ex has once again conveniently not paid his child support, last time his excuse was that him and his gf needed a weekend break Hmm

Back on the phone to the CSA again then (for the 4th month an a row) Angry

Apart from that I'm ok, 12 week scan on the 9th May, still feeling ghastly everyday which DP is struggling with, the lack of cuddles and kisses because I feel so uncomfortable and gross.

Got a BBQ at the weekend, I won't eat but I guess it will be nice to see a few people

I hope everyone else is well. Smile

BottleRed76 · 19/04/2012 21:53

poppy wonderful happy news.

BottleRed76 · 19/04/2012 21:52

Thanks Kirrin. that makes me feel better. I did read on another thread of a woman who had a long string of days at high but no egg symbol and still conceived.
Who knows what's going on in there. Maybe its sulking!

kirrinIsland · 19/04/2012 21:30

Congratualtions poppy what lovely news:)

bottlered I used the CBFM straight after my mmc and i think I had 10 days of high before the egg symbol appear, although it was much earlier than CD25. It does say to have 2 cycles after a mc beforeusing the monitorbut ijust ignored that and it worked for me!

MandaHugNKiss · 19/04/2012 19:35

How lovely poppy what fab news!

pie my head is also still in the sand... 36w. ANd having lots of very stong braxons that I can't recall having before. I mean, I had them. But the odd one here and there. For the last week and a bit, I get super strong ones and they'll come regularly over the course of a few hours. DF been teasing I'll never go to term... so... could be this baby wears a hospital gown thingy for the first day of its life!

boris you're made of sterner stuff than I - I start poas at about 7dpo Blush Ah, what I mean is, well done and keep it up!
