Lurking for IQ news! Off to Center Parcs tomorrow breaking up the 7hr drive though and visiting friends on the way, there's no way DS would cope! (or us!)

Ditto what manda has said xx

MandaHugNKiss · 24/03/2012 15:24

I do hope IQ MrIQ and MiniIQ are all enjoying those precious newborn snuggles right now.

And I hope the same for all of us in the near future x

MissCoffeeNWine · 24/03/2012 14:08

Hello everyone I haven't got time to chat really but just wanted to say fingers crossed baby IQ has made a happy and easy entrance into the world. The whole long labour thing is completely outside my experience, so I don't know when's realistic to update - or will they let you in hospital? But I hope we hear soon IQ xxxxx

GrandPoohBah · 24/03/2012 13:09

Oh, and Tits - I will be mostly on the sofa asleep today too. I'm looking forward to it.

GrandPoohBah · 24/03/2012 13:08

Morning All :)

How exciting that there's an actual real life baby on the way! Good luck IQ, I hope it's going ok.

Boris, I got those strange bumstabby pains after both my MCs, made worse when I tried to poo or sat funnily. Not fun, I always put it down to my cervix being bruised and sore, because it felt about that far in and tipped towards the back?

MrsNesbit, I got a little positive on weds, a proper one yesterday and I had two small flutes of prosecco with dinner last night. I'm also, as i type, in the process of drinking my way through a vanilla latte my lovely DH brought me back from playing football this morning. I think if I've learned anything from this process, it's that you can be really really really good - and it still makes no bloody difference to the outcome. We weren't expecting a pregnancy this soon after the MMC, so we're treating it like a 'bonus' one, no expectations until it sticks for a while. Clearly I'm not going to be silly but I've also decided that I Will Not Stress.

We'll see how that goes... I'm getting darker and darker lines on the ICs I'm doing, and I think I had some implantation bleeding. Fingers crossed.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 24/03/2012 12:28

Afternoon :)

I have the dreaded "penny" taste in my mouth this morning and the only thing I can do to stop feeling sick is to eat, I predict a swift return to slimming world after this weun comes along.

Weekend at DP's parents house now, I predict a lot of sleeping.

WhyAlwaysBoris · 24/03/2012 11:10

Mrs Nesbitt I seem to have written a mamoth post for some reason and in the meantime you must have written yours, so i missed it. Hello!

It took me a while to realise that as well as losing the baby i lost the innocence i had in the pG that i'll never get back, and that is such a precious thing to lose. Without it the whole process justs seems a nine month worry assault course. You are very courageous.

WhyAlwaysBoris · 24/03/2012 11:06

Morning everyone!

I.Q. How exciting! Your baby is such a bright beacon of hope to me. Can't wait for the announcement.

Manda so sorry you are in a blue phase. They just seem to come upon me like craters in the road i just fall down without warning. I hope it passes quickly.

Jaffa poor you. I hope you feel better soon, you must be shattered after nursing duties first. I hope someone is now looking after you.

pebs glad that the GA was ok. My results took 9 weeks, but i think that was more due to the consultants availability to see us as i noticed on the forms that the PM was done at the end of january and the results of the tests written up 2 weeks later, so they actually took about 5 weeks to come back. Maybe if i'd have protested about the wait we could have got them sooner, i dont' know.

leedy Test!

stela hope the gp went well. They seem reluctant to test if the babys don't make it to the second trimester until you have lost three- apparently two is still 'normal' and doesn't mean there is an underlying problem. A friend of mine who is a consultant recently told me that in the NHS "It is the squeaky hinge that gets the oil". ie complain more and don't be fobbed off. I'm the sort of person who tends not to do this and just apologise for being any trouble, but i'm beginning to see that whether i like doing it or not, she is right about that and no-one is going to ask for me.

Chelli and Champers so sorry you find yourself with us. In my experience this is the nicest club in the world, its just a shame it has such an absolutely shit membership criteria.

Hang in there. Re TTC in the WTF- one of the best bits of info i learnt here was to take PG tests after the MC until i got a clear negative to make sure that it was all definitely out of my system. If you don't get a negative them you might need a scan to check it has all gone/a second erpc to make your body ready to TTC.

Also, the first period tends not to be the usual cycle- mine was only a week late, some seem to be weeks and weeks late. As you don't know when to expect it, it can be confusing as you start to wonder if it is just late or you are PG again. If you got a definite negative first you can at least trust what PG tests tell you at this point, otherwise it would be gutting to get a positive, and then realise it is the after effects of the previous MC if that makes sense.

I've got AF this morning and find it v upsetting for some reason. I think during the PG I'd forgotten about the crushing disappointment of it arriving each month and then having to gear myself up to start thinking positive for the next month. It has made me realise i'm ready to have a go though, so i'll move myself from the loitering to the TTC section in the stats later.

My periods are much more painful now than before the MC. Real stabbing up the bum pains and cramps in my back i've never had before. Is this normal? does it stay like this or settle down after a bit (this is only my second one). May have to self medicate by sitting on the sofa watching rubbish and eating blue cheese, pate, and other banned in the latter part of cycle foodstuffs.

mrsnesbit · 24/03/2012 10:50

oh oh oh MY!
6 weeks today & absolutely no bleeding or pain......

BUT im swinging back to old ways. I am not hungry at all, off coffee, but just fancied one the other day, didnt have any decaf so immediately i thought "ahh fuck it, its all going to go tits up any way, im just going to have a full fat coffee".

The expectation is always there, its wedged within my psychie to assume, expect and wait for it all to end.
I hate that.

JaffaSnaffle · 24/03/2012 08:58

Pebs, my hospital had a 6 week policy on getting results back. Don't know if that is standard or specific to them. Very glad it went well for you yesterday. I hope you can spend some time quietly sitting in thd sunshine today, and that your body recovers soon.

Manda sorry you were so down. I hope it doesn't last. Thank you for the reassurance about the bug. I am only eating dry corn flakes and drinking ribena so not the most nutritious diet, but hopefully it will be short lived.

iq, thinking of you. I hope you are there, or nearly there at least. Baby IQ on her way! You have no idea how much thinking of you had cheered me up through the fog of this illness. Wishing you energy, calm and happiness! X

Midgetm · 24/03/2012 07:24

Manda big hug coming your way (no lick), hope today brings a better day.

pebs glad it whet we'll. My experiences has been good, ERPC is my method of choice, emotionally I find it the simplest. I can't remember how long it took for the testing as they notified me via an appointment so it was more tied in with appointments dates. I think at our hospital they ate sent off site to UCH.

IQ radio silence surely must mean it are on the home straight. Got everything crossed for mini IQ and You x

pebspop · 24/03/2012 07:16

Erpc went well yesterday. They have started putting antibiotic suppositories up your bum during the operation- has anyone else had this? They didn't do it last time. I woke up this morning feeling like there was a poker up there! A couple of paracetomol has sorted it out though.

The ga was the best I have had. They gave me something to relax me before the put me to sleep and I can't remember anything after the relaxing stuff went in. It felt more like a natural sleep than being forced.

I should get an appointment once the results are back from the genetic testing. Does anyone know how long testing takes? Is it a quick thing or does it take a long time?

I am feeling ok after everything that had happened. Just worrying if I will ever get a baby or will this happen everytime.Sad

Think I will go back to work towards the end of next week so I only have to work a couple of days before weekend. Can't face a full 5 days in one go!

Hope everything is ok iq.

BlueCrane · 23/03/2012 20:55

Ooh...exciting stuff iq hope things move quickly for you now an you soon get to meet mini-iq!!

Sorry you're feeling so down manda hope things perk up over the weekend for you.

jaffa sorry to hear you now have the bug...I really can't imagine dealing with that at the moment as am suitably exhausted and seem to have developed some truly attractive swollen ankles today...

InsomniaQueen · 23/03/2012 20:21

Hi all - just arrived at hospital, now 4cms along and waiting on a pool!!

I'm managing the pain as best as I can but I'm hoping for gas and air when we get our room - just off for a wander - speak later!!
XxX

chelliebellie · 23/03/2012 20:13

Hi All! What a difference a bit of sunshine can make.

I hope all is going well for IQ!

You girls seem to have all the answers, so, can you help with some ammo for the gp? I'm 35, miscarried last dec and since having my son (2 yrs ago) I regularly bleed between periods. I don't want to keep waiting for 'it all to sort itself out' which is what my gp has said before. I've totally dug my head in the sand since I MC, so I now feel the need to take some control

MandaHugNKiss · 23/03/2012 19:00

Having a very off/low day but can muster enough Woo, and indeed, hoo to cheerlead IQ on! So excited to hear your birth story!

(oh, and jaffa having not long come through D&V with DS2 followed by me getting it (then DD) I know it's particularly grim to have when pregnant... although, aparently, not particularly 'dangerous' so no worried there)

Midgetm · 23/03/2012 18:07

Mmmm wine Envy

Moominsarescary · 23/03/2012 18:01

leedy go wee on that stick!

iq let us know how it's all going if you can

champas it is scary, but I find it helps having so many people know how worrying it all can be. In rl I've found people expect you to move on pretty quickly, but it can take time.

twolittlemonkeys I'm not sure about the bleeding, your on what we call the wtf cycle after mc. Some people have on/off bleeding for quite some time.

Jaffa hope you feel better soon

Well girls, I'm having wine later. I'm realy looking fwd to it

leedy · 23/03/2012 17:36

Oh poor jaffa, feel better soon.

Sadly work has intervened in my plan to buy a weeing-on stick, but I think I might have one at home...

Midgetm · 23/03/2012 16:59

x posted Jaffa Sad. Get well soon and stay hydrated.

twolittlemonkeys · 23/03/2012 16:57

Hello champas sorry you're here :( I MC a couple of weeks ago and am trying again immediately. Some health professionals told me to wait a cycle or two, others said I was more likely to be fertile immediately after a MC.

V excited that IQ's baby is on the way!!

I have been doing some serious metalling today. For the first time ever (other than a MC obviously) I've had mid-cycle spotting. WTH is this? Do any of you get it around OV time or could it be (still ridiculously optimistic in spite of all my fertility problems) implantation? It was accompanied by loads of EWCM (apologies for tmi). I MCd some time between 4-8 March so the time would be about right, though as I've never had a regular cycle I haven't got much to go by. Can anyone shed some light?

Midgetm · 23/03/2012 16:57

IQ - so exciting, have a nice bath, chill out and that baby will be in your arms before you can say opps I have piles. Best of british to you lady.

champas I have been pregnant 9 times. My only successfull one was conceived in the WTF cycle. Never underestimate the power of the WTF cycle. Good luck x

Leedy FFS POAS! Or I will do it for you.

Just realised as I typed that that I haven't POAS for at least a week. Blimey - that weird positive woman has weaned me of my twice daily habit....

JaffaSnaffle · 23/03/2012 16:56

Hello Champas and Chellie, welcome to thread.

Fab news iq, keep going sweetheart, it is so hard but so worth it. When I was waiting at home, I had the rugby on, which sort of helped, but maybe a nice film you know well so it won't matter if you lose the plot now and again. Hope you find a way to get through it. I am sure you will- your body has been practising for weeks and you have been so calm and sensible about it.

Well, good news in our house is DD is on the mend. Bad news is I have it. I am 7 wks today. Felt really sick this am, thought if might be morning sickness. Nope, it's the bug. I'm shaky, and being sick. Trying to keep liquids down. Wish I had eaten better over last few days, but with DD ill it went out of the window. Feeling so sorry for myself.

champas · 23/03/2012 16:37

NoMoreMarbles

Moominsarescary
Hi yes it is a bit scary being here.
Its so cheering to read your experience Luv reading it

Im all geared up for another go at this, but i not telling any friends - only my mum knows.

great to share our most intermate thoughts itsnt it girls.

I better pass on the cupcakes

InsomniaQueen · 23/03/2012 16:37

Hi all - well we've just been for a quick check at the drop in centre and I'm 2 cm along with a soft cervix - the MW also did a stretch and sweep and said she felt the membranes peel away so hopefully my waters don't hang about too long......at least all this hard work is doing something. The contractions are already 5 mins apart though so we've been told to come home, chill for a bit and then go in when I feel I can't go any further without help or drugs - this is fine with me as I wanted to labour at home as long as I could.

So baby IQ is definitely on her way which is a nice feeling - I will keep you updated with how it all goes.

Thank you all for your well wishes and kind thoughts they mean lots coming from you lovely ladies!!!

Hugs to all xxx
