Tits, I loved stuff from Boob Design (yes, comedy name) last time round, particularly their jeans, which were the only mat jeans I found that didn't constantly fall down. Not cheap but the quality is fantastic and they look great. They also do great breastfeeding clothes if you need 'em (and a lot of their maternity tops/dresses work for that too). No, I am not on commission!

shop.boobdesign.com/

Topshop and Gap usually have some non-frump-o-matic maternity stuff as well.

JaffaSnaffle · 26/03/2012 17:21

Hello wrigle and chuckle, welcome to the thread.

tits, I think this is the wretched first trimester talking. Feeling very weary myself. I keep telling myself I will be back to my lively self when it is really summer time, (not this sneak preview). Yep we will be sober all year, but we won't reach whale proportions until autumn. Maybe plan a little holiday? And definitely find a lovely maternity dress that you can swish about in through the summer! Ask Model Manda if she comes across anything pretty this week!

Manda that is fab news. What a fun thing to do! Hope you have a lovely day!

wrigle · 26/03/2012 16:53

Just marking my place here if I may, MC started on the 16th. I've just returned from comfort shopping and am planning the fake tan/massage/nail varnish session Friday so I don't return to work Monday looking like death. This seems to be my response to getting to grips with the idea that I have to wait an unknown amount of time before we can try again. I may go into some serious debt financially as I shop my way to that date!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 26/03/2012 15:46

Afternoon ladies.

The sun is shining and every bastard is merrily posting about quaffing wine in hot tubs in the chuffing sun, as a result of this I am feeling crap, really, really crap.
I am indoors, feeling frumpy, nauseas and jealous of the bloody lot of them, knowing it will be like this for (hopefully) 8 months more. Yes I know, the world can't win with me!
I'm sure it will go and I'll be fine but atm I am all tears and bitter words.

I did however find out one of my very good friends is pregnant today which is lovely, she too is feeling crappy so we have been bleating on together.

I am wondering what I can do to make me feel like I can still have fun this summer like all the normal people, and what I can wear that will make me look like a blooming, attractive pregnant lady and not a beached whale? Any ideas?

leedy · 26/03/2012 15:27

Yes, I think it's because in general people are more likely to know when their last period was than when they ovulated, but it still strikes me as a bit silly. And, of course, it's frequently inaccurate because it's based on a 28 day cycle. I had pretty short cycles after my m/c, so I was 2 weeks post-ovulation before I was "4 weeks pregnant".

WhyAlwaysBoris · 26/03/2012 15:26

Hello everyone, lovely day here,

Chuckle welcome, sorry you find yourself here.

Manda A model in our midst and here's me too fat for all my summer clothes how very exciting. I hope you have a lovely day and they make a real fuss of you. I've been on a photoshoot before (not in it, i hasten to add)and there was a lot of sitting around with cups of tea involved, from what i remember, so hopefully won't be too bad on your painful bits

Pebs wow r r will see you the same week- i guess this means you can go full steam ahead or allow yourself some time off and still know you can get in to see him immediately when you are ready- but apprecaite the choice means more metalling possibilities. Offers of a stay on sofa bed in pokey flat in the depths of london always available.

tiago :) 163!

Tiago · 26/03/2012 15:11

They count from the first day of your period (so by the time you ovulate, you are 'already' 2 weeks). V odd I know.

mrsnesbit · 26/03/2012 15:04

Yeah, as i say we have had every test known to man and all came back perfectly normal.

Because nothing shows up in a blighted ovum mc, they always send us away for 10-14 days before they will scan again.

What confuses me is that it is 6 weeks since my last period BUT we didnt concieve then did we?
It was 2 weeks after (I know when i ovulate because i get pain)
So for absolute accuracy, i am actually 4 weeks pregnant surely?
Can any one clarify this confusion for me?

Gah, I meant tiago lovely news, and yay!

MandaHugNKiss · 26/03/2012 13:30

pebs 'Or something' I don't actually know at the mo - it's video though so I imagine it'll be something on their website (can't imagine they'd pin a tv campaign on a comp winner - I'm not a professional after all!). Maybe it'll be a bit like the asos website where you look at an item and can click the little box on the side of the page to see the item worn on the catwalk. Will really need my pelvis to co-operate if that's the case!

I think waiting a little, concentrating on YOU (remember how I've said before I wish I'd taken a little time to get into better shape at least physically - given that this is a very physical process whichever way it goes, it makes sense!) really is the best option.

I x posted with leedy (Yay! Lovely news!) and chuckle whilst I waffled on...

Indeed, welcome, chuckle. Feeling a little less shit is good! That's like the first step towards feeling good, eventually Smile I hope you get there asap; we're happy to help you on your way.

leedy · 26/03/2012 13:25

x-post with Tiago! Brilliant news!

leedy · 26/03/2012 13:06

Ooh, manda, exciting! And glamorous!

And welcome, ChuckleMonster, sorry you have to be here with us but it's a lovely supportive group.

Tiago · 26/03/2012 13:05

My munchkin lives! Heartbeat 163. Size correct for dates. Good adhesion in the right place Grin

pebspop · 26/03/2012 12:41

manda that sounds fun! will you be on the tv or something?

I think I will take my time and go for the further testing. I think it makes sense as I would hate to have another mc and regret not going for the testing. If I have the testing and it still goes wrong then at least I did everything I could. I try to avoid situations where I might feel guilty for mc like eating the wrong thing or doing something strenuous - remember the panic over catching my falling granny!

I have rang Raj Rai's private clinic and they can get me booked in this week if I want - whoa slow down there! He has a private clinic every wednesday so it looks like I can get booked in as soon as I want. I have emailed his private and NHS secretarys to see if it will be possible for me to start off at his private clinic and move over to NHS funding once my referral comes through. The prices don't sound too bad so I don't mind paying at first. I think the prescriptions can be expensive though so I would want the NHS to fund them for me as I will probably need Heparin injections daily.

I haven't got a proper diagnosis so far as all my blood tests have come back normal so I am hoping something will show up as they do different tests at Lesley Regan/Raj Rai's clinics.

I will see what the secretarys come back with and get the ball rolling hopefully.

MandaHugNKiss · 26/03/2012 12:15

mrsN If you're sure of your dates, then I would go ahead with a scan next week - I've been for two scans at 7 weeks and you can see a little bean shaped blob with a little flicker. Of course, if things aren't going 'to plan' then you will be sent away for another week/two but, weighing things up, would that make you metal much more than you already are? If you are 'happy' for want of a better word to wait until 9 weeks then do! I couldn't do it though. Or, y'know, I could if I absolutely had to but I didn't have to thank goodness

Have you and DH had any genetic testing? Perhaps something to look into having had 4 blighted ovums.

pebs Jeez, talk about a rock and hard place! All I can tell you is what I would do... And, in a rational state of mind, I would recognise I am exhausted (physically and emotionally) and concentrate on getting myself to a better place for both. Perhaps only for a couple of cycles. Meanwhile, you would hopefully have been seen at st.marys and had the tests done that you can't have when pg...

But let's face it. We're none of us rational during these times. I would, probably, just try again straight away, especially as in your case this last loss would seemingly be bad luck on top of something that could have been treated.

That said, neither of our bodies straightened out immediately following our later losses so... maybe embrace that might be the case again and stick to plan A of resting up, gentle exercise, taking the vits, getting in a good place...

I'm not bloody helping with this flip/flop back and forth, am I? to you though my lovely. Maybe the 'answer' is time? It'll become clearer with a little more time.

midget That's some good lickin'! Fanks! Grin (this licking business totally makes me smile for reals - it's so...pythonesque and appeals to my silly side!)

jaffa Thanks for the advice - I slept with a pillow between my legs last night which although oddly distracting seems to have had a positive effect - oh, it's still 'there' but I'm not hobbling like an old granny going 'ow, ow, ow' this morning so yay for that!

Seriously, yay, though... I clicked a link on the mumsnet email last week to enter a 'competition' to be in a video promoting New Looks new maternity range... and they just called me to say I'd 'won'! So, on Thursday morning (horribly early for me - 7.30am) a car will collect me and off I go! I don't suppose hobbling will be a good look (talk about sods fricking law - been fine up until yesterday!). So, next few days I'm gonna rest the heck up and take painkillers come thursday if it comes to it!

ChuckleMonster · 26/03/2012 11:52

Hello all, I'm a newbie, I thought I might come and hang around here for a bit if thats OK. Had mc in Jan, got pregnant straight after but found out I've had a mmc last week. Feeling a bit sorry for myself but reading this thread is making me feel a little less shit.

leedy · 26/03/2012 11:05

I am a technical writer, which is actually pretty interesting and mercifully involves no heavy lifting. Also we have a nice canteen to indulge my "why, I am gestating, yes I will have more potato" tendencies. However, I have a metric fuckton of things to do this week that involve Proper Hard Thinking and I am so tiiiiiiiiiiired. Also feel slightly seasick.

Ooh, and I'd better update the stats thread....

mrsnesbit · 26/03/2012 10:49

No idea ??chromosomal. Every test known to man...normal.
Ive had 4 blighted ovums, 2 mcs where a wee baby was seen and one pregnancy resulting in my boy..nearly 9 years ago Grin

Last mc (blighted ovum) was last July.
Im weird me, they said it is highly unusual to have more than one.

pebspop · 26/03/2012 10:36

That sounds like a plan mrsn. Much better to go for a scan when you know you will get an answer than being left in limbo.

Do you have any idea why you have the blighted ovums? How many times has this happened?

mrsnesbit · 26/03/2012 09:58

yeah im going to cancel this weeks scan and re book for 2 weeks time.
will be nearly 9 weeks...if i get that far of course.

Midgetm · 26/03/2012 09:53

Mrs N - 7 weeks is a good time to get a scan - why not get one booked in then?
