HA!
Loving that this thread is in no way fluffy, and stern talkings to are freeling dispensed.
That to me, just proves that you have been where i have been, and understand how a serial miscarriers head works.

leedy · 27/03/2012 10:44

And yeek, Bonzo, that all sounds a bit dramatic. Glad all is ok!

mrsnesbit · 27/03/2012 10:26

I LOVE that mantra, strangely comforting, those 4 little words.
They are fact, cant argue with fact.

MarthasHarbour · 27/03/2012 10:24

thats not me pregnant by the way - if anyone is skimming the thread!!! Hmm

OP posts:
MarthasHarbour · 27/03/2012 10:24

mrsnesbit we had a mantra way back on one of the older threads that kept some of them's going through the early days:

'I am pregnant today'

Yay! Grin

I dont have Sky madmen but i have four seasons to get through so by the time i have finished it they will prob have the box set or have it on BBC2 anyway!

OP posts:
mrsnesbit · 27/03/2012 10:08

Its that fucking cycle of negative thoughts that are engrained in the head.

BUT 6 weeks & 3days down...YAY!!!!! GrinGrin

I can report that on every knicker check since February there has been no nasties in there. Smile

not really any symptoms either, sore boobs..mildly, a bit hungry and off coffee. Other than that, nowt. I was sick as a dog with ds from about 6 weeks till 18 weeks.
Just going to get another day over with.

mad, leedy tiago great to hear your news Smile

tits hope your day goes ok and it's not too hot at the salon/college!

Big hello to everyone else I've missed...must dash and get back on with my work...last big deadline tomorrow and then I can properly wind down/take it easy for the remaining 19 working days do my filing, sort my desk out, prep handover notes etc Shock can't believe I've made it to that stage Shock 31 weeks today Shock

mrsnesbit · 27/03/2012 09:40

OH NO!
Ive just been told about a friend who is very early pregnant. (she had a mc about 6 weeks ago)
That means (in my crazy warped head) that if one more person announces their pregnancy thats mine down the spout.
1:3 pregnancies end in mc....im always the 3rd, always.

6weeks & 3 days today.

I cancelled the scan for tomorrow, re booked for in 2 weeks time. IF i make it to then, i will be nearly 9 weeks since LMP, but nearly 7 weeks since conception. That way, i know absolutely that there should be something there.
I can make a sound decision based on sound information.
Sad

MarthasHarbour · 27/03/2012 09:16

manda how are you feeling today? Seriously though how is the SPD? Do you want some pampering to take your mind off it?

madaboutmadmen are you big fan of mad men then? i have just bought the box set of series 1-4. I have acually never seen it Shock but i loved Pan Am and am a big fan of 60s retro vintage type things so i used some amazon vouchers i had.

PS still metalling and knicker checking big time, doesn't get any better Sad

madaboutmadmen · 27/03/2012 08:00

Hi all, hope you're all doing ok and baby IQ is coming along nicely.

Tas been thinking of you and hope you're starting to feel more positive about things.

I had my dating scan yesterday, put me at 13+2 but could only measure the head rather than head to bum as baby was wriggling too much Grin. I was so relieved when i (a) saw there was actually something in there and (b) saw the heart beat.

i've got this thread bookmarked so will keep dipping in to see how you're doing. Wishing you all the best, and here's looking forward to 29 Sept (or 2 weeks after that if my first one is anything to go on).

Take care ladies xxxxx

TitsalinaBumSquash · 27/03/2012 07:43

Good morning.

I have a 9 hour shift in the salon at college ahead of me today. here's hoping it will be easy clients or reception duty.

I feel a bit better today, although this clock changing thing has put two sleepy little boys in awful moods each morning.

I am going to attempt breakfast see if it settles my stomach, I quite fancy porridge today I think. :)

Midgetm · 27/03/2012 07:27

morning all, just snooping for news of baby IQ.

Also had a chuckle about the car rolling incident, ther by the grace of god go I, so many visits to the Whittington, the EPU there virtually has a private room with a name plaque on it. Thank god it was just a little debt, that is quite some hill, it keeps the common people out of highgate.

Tits misery loves company and I am grim too. Moody, lazy, sick, lacking any fizz. I yearn to be pregnant and the remember how vile the first trimester is. The added spectre of being fearful of loss also hangs over us. It's tough sometimes.

better fly, work today so need to hit the road. I'm in marketing. Dead dull. Sorry no time to catch up properly but Manda happy that I have licked an actual model, I have good taste. Take Care metallers. I am 9+4 and still believing this may work... The happy woman is back but the old me keeps whispering in her ear she is a dumb arse x

twolittlemonkeys · 26/03/2012 21:50

Lovely to read a bunch of good news on here :)

Congratulations IQ and welcome mini-IQ. Hope she is out of SCBU and with you soon.

Fab news leedy - Congratulations!

tiago that's great news!

tits sorry you're feeling crappy. Hope the nausea eases up.

MandaHugNKiss · 26/03/2012 21:38

Well, after sleeping with a pillow between my legs last night and trying to stay on my arse move as little as possible today, it's feeling much easier if not entirely better. So, I reckon I'll be ok with just... y'know, slowing down a bit. Well I am 32+5 today, have a very active two year old, a bad habit of constantly picking up after him instead of leaving it until a time when he won't immediately pull it out again (what IS that? He doesn't even play with it - it just MUST be on th efloor, out of the drawer/toy box/cupboard. Pain the arse pubic bone child) and this is my third pregnancy in two years aged 38 so lots of relaxin running around my creaky old system. I suppose, thinking about it, it was to be expected.

bonzo So sorry that pain led to befuddlement which led to an accident (albeit no one else involved). It did kinda make me smile, mind, and I could imagine it too as I have spent many days/nights at the Whittington (in a work capacity - following on from leedys question, I worked as a prison officer at Holloway in my last but one job and often accompanied women on bed watches - including a birth! I literally only left the room as she went into transition and was straight back in after the birth. THat was the woman's choice, too - I could/would have been outside the whole time but she wanted me there, bless her (young, had noone else). She moved onto the baby and mother unit which isn't the grim place you'd imagine - also did many a shift there. To do something UTTERLY different, my last job was in production with a film festival! But not worked at all bar being a mother for four years.)

NoMoreMarbles · 26/03/2012 21:19

tas i have APS and have DD... your levels have peaks and troughs so you can have like remission periods from the condition.Smile

tasmaniandevilchaser · 26/03/2012 21:00

hi all, hi to wrigle and chuckle and chellibellie, sorry you're with us.

To those with SPD, my sympathies, acupuncuture helped a lot for me. And doing the ladylike keeping your legs together.

manda get you! New Look Model!!!

bonzo sorry to hear you've been poorly, but I did laugh thinking of your car rolling down the hill by the Whittington, had a vision of your car ending up in Archway!!!

tiago brilliant news! Smile

I have a question for those who have had a child, but have gone for tests. Can you have 'something wrong' even if you've had a successful pregnancy? I'm assuming I can't have natural killer cells or APS as I've got a 3 yr old DD.

chelliebellie · 26/03/2012 20:50

Hi all. It's lovely to come on and read all the positives going on!

Bonzo77 thank you for making me really smile - that's just the sort of thing that I would do! Glad no other cars involved, at least you can repair when you want.

Manda how far along are you? I had a friend who swore by reflexology for her spd, but you can't do that till the 2nd trimester and make sure you use a recommended therapist.

tits depending on money either funmum (sorry can't remember website) or isabella Oliver. I did also buy a couple of lovely summer dresses from eBay (but nderstand that not everyone is happy to have second hand).

Well I've had a pretty rubbish day at work and I seem to be comfort eating for England, started spotting today, AF (I have no idea what this actually stands for!) due Wednesday so another month bits the dust I guess.

Anyone know anything about taking agnus castus? I was thinking of taking it because I think I must have some kind of hormone drop 2 wks into my cycle as I always spot then, but I've read conflicting information about it.

bonzo77 · 26/03/2012 20:14

tits sorry you are feeling grim, I agree that this is probably first trimester woes, coupled with background worry. I find maternity clothes really depressing, I hate baggy stuff anyway, and some of the stuff around made me look like a marquee, which was not fair because I was / am fairly small. So I stuck to my normal clothes as much as possible, and where not opted for black lycra with accessories if I could be bothered. Though it was winter, I think that would work for summer too. I'm thinking stretchy clingy vest tops, possibly layered with other colours, and skirts made of stretchy stuff. I had these in my normal size. They are super stretchy and soft and fairly high waisted, so you can pull them up, or as I did, fold them down under the bump. They are a bit warm, so I would probably get a jersey skirt for warmer days.

mrsnesbit I was also confused by the dating. It's all just a tool to mark the progress of the pregnancy. Full term is anything from 37 to 42 weeks from first day of last period, but actually they will date you more accurately from the 12 week scan, because at this point bean is big enough to measure accurately, and after this point there is quite a lot of variation in size. moomin's baby was 11lb2 and mine was 5lb11, both at opposite ends of the range, once virtually half the weight of the other.

tiago, I bet bean's HB made yours flutter too. lovely.

manda sorry about the SPD. Is physio / chiropracter / acupucnture feasible?

Minor dramas here. Had a terrible cold and woke up after an nap yesterday with the most horrendous pain in my ear. Ended up at a&e at 2.30 am this morning (I know, not really appropriate). Turns out to just be an ear infection, but I was ready to slit my wrists the pain was so bad. As not taking ibuprofen for it as in 2ww. Better today though with antibiotics. I was in such a state though that I didn't put my hand brake on properly. I parked on the wrong side of the road on the steep steep hill outside a&e at the Whittington. Security came to as if anyone had a silver golf as it had been seen rolling down the hill! Blush. Anyway, luckily there were not other cars involved, and it was wedged between a wall and a lamp post, with a dent in the wing and a slightly dislodged bumper. Won't be fixing that in a hurry: too much expense!

As for pg related stuff, god knows here...9 DPO. FF puts AF as due tomorrow, test day wednesday. Seem to have had a 2nd thermal shift with sustained increased temp but that could well be due to my ear infection, though it did start before the ear ache. I did POAS today at lunch time and BFN, but I actually think its too early and I was silly to test. LP all over the place since mc, and I think B6 might be lengthening it.
