Morrrrning! Smile

I am still in bed! DP is at the gym of all places and the boys stayed out last night with family. I don't plan to get up anytime soon, I fear DP will come home and request me todo chores, the shed needs emptying because the garden is getting landscaped tomorrow. Smile
I don't really feel sick today though so I am of course mettaling my pretty little head about it and once again cursing previous mcs for tainting all other pregnancies. Confused

Happy Easter weekend to you all. Smile

Morning all

I have been lurking, reading, catching up, though alas not posting very much...sorry!

Just wanted to pop on about the lovely issue of constipation and say that my doc kindly prescribed lactulose which has been fab! Others I know swear by fybogel or even just a healthy diet of all bran and prunes every morning!

pebs so sorry you are still waiting for a bfn...it took my 4.5 weeks after my Erpc if I remember correctly. Plus the chances are you hormone levels were pretty high due to the nature of the pregnancy which means it may take a bit longer...I found watching the lines get faster in the ICs vaguely comforting in a strange sort of way.

manda and breathe...you'll get there and it will be fine. in reality you probably have a lot of what you need already at home, it's just a case of fishing it out. The sleeping thing might be a bit more tricky but even that should probably work itself out when the time comes and if you can stay as calm as possible then that will help! I think it's perfectly normal to have that kind of realisation though...I have 8 weeks to go and have been having minor meltdowns about how close it all seems to have suddenly got!! I was expecting these latter weeks to crawl past but they seem to be flying instead...maybe they'll slow to snail pace once I finish work!

missc congrats on passing your milestone this week and here's to many more metal and water leakage free weeks for you!!

gpb so sorry to hear about your ear....painful stuff! Hope the antibiotics kick in soon!

marthas lol at your DS latest vocabulary...oh the fun and pure embarassment to come yet in the future!!

mumtum HUGE CONGRATS on your wedding! Hope you have a fab time away!!

Right...now to decide whether I can be bothered to go for a swim...I stood on the scales the other day which was a scary thing to do and was a little stunned at the reading, of course I should've been prepared for it given how tight some of my mat clothes are getting but fear I have rather overdone the cake intake so am trying to be good now and even do some gentle exercise to get myself a bit fitter ready for labour...and maybe slow the weight gain down a little...for me that is not the kick boxing bouncing bean in there! [busmile]

pebspop · 06/04/2012 08:39

Martha it's two weeks today since erpc. The time had flown! I am not sure about ttc , in a way I feel like I wAnt to get more investigations done but in another way I just want to get of asap. I might wAit until I see the consultant at end of month. I probably won't ov until after that anywAy judging by my previous WTF cycle.

I was just thinking, I don't think I tested until about a month after erpc the first time so maybe I am testing too early. Will try again next weekend. I am still bleeding a little bit, wish it would piss off as I am away all weekend on hen do and going to a spa hotel with dh on Sunday.

kirrinIsland · 06/04/2012 08:38

mumtum congratulations on your wedding :) and in Barbados, you lucky thing - sounds lovely.

GBP glad you've got some anti-b's, hope they start working quickly. And it is an excellent excuse.

tits I can't help metalling, but I agree with b) also. I also had no symptoms at all in my last pregnancy (mmc) whereas this time I feel sick as hell - it's got to be a good sign - right?

nomore fingers crossed for a bfp

cake welcome. Sorry you've had to join us, but there's loads of support on here.

One more sleep til my scan......

ChuckleMonster · 06/04/2012 08:16

sorry - here rather than hear! Must learn to read before posting!

ChuckleMonster · 06/04/2012 08:15

Good Morning All. I have been visiting family for a while and havent had internet access so have a lot of reading to do to catch up! I am feeling much better about everything than I was a week ago, largely due to reading lots of uplifting stories on hear, and I had a BFN this morning so I guess I am ready to go for it again which is a good thing.

On a sad note though, a friend of my DH was expecting the same week as us and we found out this week that they have also had an mmc. I feel so bad for them and also really guilty as I was soooooooooo jealous that she was still pregnant when I had lost my baby Sad

Anyway, hope everyone has nice plans for the weekend, even if the weather is trying to spoil it! [busmile]

MumTumWanted · 05/04/2012 22:59

Hey ladies no name check just a quick update from the sunny shores of Barbados I'm now married SmileGrin and have been for 7 days GrinGrinGrin cycle turned out just right due to ic on the wedding day so now on the 2ww but have lots to occupy my time with ... Swimming with turtles catamaran cruise steel band evenings etc etc so trying not to mental too much purposely didn't bring and sticks to pee on and am due af the day we fly home so no risk of testing to early for me this month pBlush

Hope each and all are doing well I promise to catch up when I can properly but it's not easy in an Internet cafe!!!

JaffaSnaffle · 05/04/2012 22:46

x posts. Been coming back to my message for a while.

Martha, your DS would have a soulmate in my DD. Yesterday, in supermarket, she reached out from her seat in the trolley, we were leaving the shop and it was crowded so good audience for this, and unbuttoned my top shouting, 'DD show everyone mummy's boobies'. Oh what larks...

gpb :) at metal penis!

MissCoffeeNWine · 05/04/2012 22:44

Imagining a penis shaped potato masher now Grin

I shouldn't take DD out of the house. Comments from today include 'Mummy that lady looks like a WIZARD' 'Hi, man, what is your moustache for?' 'I can smell that man's poo'

Oh and she stuffed a teddy up her jumper and pretended to give birth to it at a friends house, loudly directing my friend's DS in his role as Daddy/baby catcher.

Hmm

Sorry can't namecheck but I have enjoyed two days of no metalling, it's been lovely. Really relaxing. Then I started with a bit of extra leakage today so have made myself extra paranoid again. I feel like it's just a matter of when my waters go....

Also I'm 17+3 today so Little Miss (her new MN name) is now older than Mini-Toe. Feels good but weird.

gpb OUCH hope your ear is better soon!

midget hurrah for graduation, you are funny Grin

martha sounds a good milestone. I love babygros so much Blush

manda you need some lists. It'll be OK, promise, it'll work out....but get some lists and delegate, woman.

tits sounding good, good luck for the scan!

Welcome to those joining the thread xx

Lays out late night cheese on toast, as a little snack to keep us going.

Hello sunshine, cake and kirrin. Sorry you have had to join us here but just wanted to say hi!

tits, I would give your mw a call about constipation- you might need a prescription. I cannot remember who had constipation a while ago, but someone was having a horrid time and then were given the medicine to huge relief! From my experience, pharmacists can be really wary about giving meds to pregnant or breadtfeeding women, or maybe I am just unlucky enough to have encountered more than my fair share of awkward types

grandpoohbah sorry about you ear. Hope your pain subsides. Get your antibiotics out at the meal table. At least there is one good side effect of all this.

cake, I wanted to, and did conceive straight after mc. The only thing I would say is make sure your body and mind are up to it. I feel knackered, having had 8 weeks of one pregnancy on top of this one. It seems like I have been in the first trimester since the start of time, (actually it has been since Christmas, so long enough). But it was the right thing mentally for me, and I was very lucky indeed to get pregnant straight away.

I am doing better today. I have been eating cheese. Craving it, and also turned ravenous. I think this must be a good thing. Sadly, I have either given myself a cheese- based paunch, or I have started to show. Either are possible. I just don't want people to know yet. I am struggling to find clothes that conceal rather than show off my tummy. I don't want to even think about telling people till after 16 wk scan, if we get that far. By that time I'll be huge!

Manda you are an old hand at this newborn lark. I am convinced that you will have it all sorted. And was thinking of my grandad, father of six, who said 'every child that is born brings room for themselves*.

sunshinesue · 05/04/2012 22:26

pebs after my first mc ("natural") at 9 weeks it took over a month to get a negative test so when I got a negative 2 weeks after my erpc at 11 weeks I was dead chuffed. The things that make you happy after a mc....

Midgetm · 05/04/2012 22:22

I love the idea of a child threatening to mash someone up with their metal penis. Too funny but don't let social services hear that...

Martha - DSS heard his uncle calling his daddy a penis and it was his insult of choice for a long time. He went through a phase of shouting it loudly in public, which was mildly embarrassing - for a 3 year old, his enunciation of that particular word was impressive Grin at one point he also told his uncle he would 'mash him up with my metal penis'. It took a long time to persuade him that a penis was the same thing as a willy and not a weapon of some variety...

MarthasHarbour · 05/04/2012 21:21

welcome cakeplease (with a name like that you will be at home in the mosh pit!) so sorry for your loss but happy to meet you. The GPs tend to tell you to get af out of the way but yes that is for dating purposes, also to let you have an AF to 'mentally' start again. However many women on this thread have got pg again during the WTF cycle (ie the month where you havent got a clue where your OV/AF are)

Pebs i didnt test after my MC so i just dont know. Is it really 2 weeks Shock how do you feel about TTC again now?

A colleague went on Mat Leave today, i was so pleased for her but then i saw the cute babygro's bought from the whip round, it just got me soooo broody. She gave me a reassuring hug, i think she thought i was sad about the MC. Well i was but not in that way. I am resigned that my baby due in October is no longer no more, i now dont want to replace her ('her' - where did that come from Hmm) no i was broody for what i want in the future. That is good right? I think i turned a corner there Smile

shakes manda OK, so you have six weeks. Four at least but then eight at most. Sooo, i was going to suggest weaning DS2 off the bedtime boobie and co sleeping BUT i wonder if that will stress him out too much, like when bambino arrives? OTOH he might just want to have his own bed when LO comes along, i would totally leave it to him. See LO will be in either a moses basket or pram, (never co-slept so dont know when they start sleeping with you) so you have at least another six weeks after LO arrives to metal about it. Could you then have a toddler bed in your room and have LO co-sleeping??? Hmm

On the subject, DS's current dialogue of choice is:

I got a winky
Daddy's got a big winky (cue pride bursting from DH)
Mamma no got a winky
Coz mammas a girl
Mamma got boobies

I am never taking him out of the house, at least for the next 6 months Grin

Welcome to the madhouse cake

I got some ic's from amazon today and did one but I am still getting bfp. It will be two weeks since erpc is this normal? I have never seen a bfp after my mcs but I can't remember when I tested last times.

It is really annoying no wonder I am so bloody knackered if I still have pg hormones in me.

Cakeplease · 05/04/2012 20:31

Hi all, can I join? I'm waiting to ttc after a miscarriage 10 days ago. Bleeding finished & pregnancy test showing very faint positive so nearly done. It was fairly quick and physically pretty painless. I think I got off lightly!!! I'm feeling better physically & emotionally and feel to move on fully I need to ttc again. focus on something positive rather than the negative. First step is rejoining conception boards. Hopefully soon I'll feel ready to start ttc again.

I've been told to wait for 1 st af before ttc. From what I've read this is purely for dating purposes. Is it ok to concieve before first af?

Sorry your all on here girls but I've found these miscarriage threads very supportive & a ray of hope xxx

TitsalinaBumSquash · 05/04/2012 20:15

Glad you got some antibiotics GPB

Manda you have time, you need to make a list of essentials and tell DP/DH that you require him to sort them, you do one load of washing for the new arrival a day and voilà your little one will be well sorted by the time he/she arrives.

I haven't done any metalling about the scan. I will be 8+4 weeks, I am really not sure if it's because

a, I have become resigned to the fact that if the worst should happen, there is nothing I can do to control it, I have been a saint so far and all I can do is look after myself and follow doctors orders.

OR

b, I feel different, I know this is is a silly thing to say and I may have just jinxed myself, but I have been feeling so physically rotten that I know there must be hormones there, with all the other mcs I have felt absolutely nothing the whole way until the bleeding started.

I am also aware that come Tuesday night this will all change and I'll be finding every excuse under the sun as to why I can't possibly attend the apt.

So yes, scan on Wed at 10am, then midwife on 12th at 9am.

In the mean time, I have dug the yoghurt maker out and am making some to take my mind off things.

as for the constipation ... can I not take over the counter remedies whilst pregnant? Lactalose (sp?) or similar?

GrandPoohBah · 05/04/2012 19:16

I was seen quite quickly and now have antibiotics for my perforated eardrum :( on the up side, it gives me an excellent excuse as to why I'm not drinking this week - we're on holiday with the in-laws and it's usually quite boozy.

kirrinIsland · 05/04/2012 18:40

manda 6 weeks is loads of time, newborns don't need that much anyway...

Good luck GPB hope you don't have to wait too long.

Seems there's a few of us with scans next week, let's see how long we can keep the metalling in check I've failed already

GrandPoohBah · 05/04/2012 17:45

I am at the walk in centre, you will all be pleased to know Grin Just have to wait for a billion hours to see a dr now...

Manda, you have loads of time! Work out what's going to take the longest, start on that first. Decide what things you want so even if you don't want to buy anything until baby is here, you can send your DH out with a specific list while you're holed up in bed bonding.

tits, I've not found anything good for pregnancy related constipation. Eating family sized packs of prunes made it just about bearable to poo, but nothing made it easy, regular or comfortable!

sunshinesue · 05/04/2012 17:11

manda - delegate! everyone loves to help out the heavily pregnant lady, it makes them feel good about themselves!

Tiago · 05/04/2012 17:03

Welcome sunshine.

Well, had a bit of a wobble today and ended up crying at DH that I just wanted to know if "it is still alive". Then fell asleep at 1pm for a 2 hour "nap". Net result - I am having another early scan on Tuesday next week in the evening (from which I hope to gain a modicum of reassurance for, oh, maybe 24 hours...)

Manda - it will all be fine. Breathe. You have over a month to get sorted and you are a very competent and capable lady.
