Well deffo CD1 here today, though I did PIARIAW just to be sure (as you do) I'm not sure whether to consider this a near-miss, I guess I'll just wait and see what happens next month. I really do hope this isn't going to happen every month as I don't think I could cope with the stress. The good news is that Easter will be an ideal timw for SWI this cycle :)

whims and maybe I'm passing all the brooking power over to you, in the hope that your expensive tests show positive results :o

scarlett hope you're feeling a bit better about everything this morning

Thank goodness its nearly the weekend

BartletForAmerica · 29/03/2012 22:52

I'm choosing not to worry about Maybe, Beedle and Whims yet. If the BFP is just getting going, checking it later in the afternoon might be discouraging so I would only trust FMU. I will be Brooking until we have confirmation either way for you all.

whimsicalname · 29/03/2012 22:16

sorry about the bfn maybe. I think we both need some better sticks. I keep getting bfns, but then slight shadows when i look later. Obviously you're not meant to look later.

I think I'm up to cd34 which is nearly a record (and 10 days later than last month). Have one more cheapie which I'm going to have a wee on tomorrow with fmu. In the upstairs bathroom, next to my bedroom, not the wet room. I will piapitub (pee in a pot in the upstairs bathroom). Upstairs and bathroom were both spellings my eldest had the other week. Compound words you know. they have to write sentences with the words in. Imagine if that was his!

Then I'm going to hot foot it to an expensive shop to get some reassuringly expensive sticks, which have a guarantee of a pregnancy included.

Night night all, and thanks for helping me pass the time on a long day of pant and stick checking.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 29/03/2012 22:08

Oh, and Olives I want a ride in your horse and carriage Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 29/03/2012 22:07

Scarlett I too know what you mean with the failuritis. But you are not a failure, not in the slightest.

Maybe wet rooms are not conducive to agreeable pee sticks?

I have just bawled my eyes out. I think maybe I needed it. I piacc earlier. Pretty much a bfn. I think I will be writing a letter to internet cheapie headquarters Wink

GreenOlives · 29/03/2012 21:36

Well it has heaters but I never switch them on because I'm too tight so the horse and carriage has to stay cold Wink

Biscuitsandtea · 29/03/2012 21:22

A heated barn????

Posho Wink

GreenOlives · 29/03/2012 21:06

Evening all, another day of witty chat that I have missed out on because of boring old work! Grin

Maybe I'm over the bloody moon about the BFP, please could you use a posh one tomorrow so you finally believe the result! I have no work tomorrow so I will be checking in on you first thing

Whims very excited about your shadow too - confirmation tomorrow with FMU please!

Scarlett I am sure IVF feels like a massive leap in the TTC process but the ladies are all right - a baby is a baby however it gets made and an ivf referral should pretty much guarantee an ironic bfp!

Just to clarify my barn is basically just a super-sized shed with heating! Definitely not big enough for a rave and would only fit a smallish horse and carriage Wink Grin CD7 here - boring! Can't remember what else I was going to say so I shall sign off, see you tomorrow Rat Smackers!

Oh Scarlett what a shock but I agree with others that it's good to be in the system and hopefully well on your way to an ironic BFP so you can tell them to stick their IVF up their bottoms.

Shiny I must live near you then - northern city M, on the left hand side, just up from C'shire (cheese county)!

Beedle damn and blast the BFN but pale wee = inaccurate peesticks, so I choose to continue to brook no argument.

Sweetie sorry re AF. My last one did that to me too - started with spotting, then nothing for two days (imagine my excitement) then properly started. I knew I wasn't preggo though, but this cycle will be different - this is the one!

Little and Imps I dare you to write something self-indulgent on FB about wanting the baby out!

Right - time to make tea.

ScarlettInSpace · 29/03/2012 20:04
SweetieDoesIt · 29/03/2012 19:56

Aw Beedle sorry to hear about the BFN, but with weak afternoon wee it might be expected. See how things are in the morning. Did you really PIAWRIAR?

BeedleTheBard · 29/03/2012 19:42

Quick post

BFN with very pale wee, I PIARIAW just so you know
But also more blood grrr

Will try again in the morning

TheLittleFriend · 29/03/2012 19:38

sorry to hear that news scarlett, and sorry to have nothing constructive to say. But I do second what others have said - no reason why you can't get your bfp the natural way whilst you're waiting for treatment. Once your baby is here, it really won't matter how it was conceived. x

imps Grin Grin about wanting that baby out of you. I'm on day 4 of my pregnancy and can't wait for the contractions to start either. Might have to update that as my fb status actually.

SweetieDoesIt · 29/03/2012 19:14

Scarlett poor you {{{big hugs}}} it is shocking the twists and turns TTC takes, but if IVF gets you your DC in the end, as Bartlet says it doesn't matter how the spermy meet egg, only that it does.

Maybe you are a dark horse, keeping us all waiting for the photo evidence of the pee stick. I am so pleased for you my dear. We all knew it would be a positive result.

Beedle all looking good for you too, with the stopping and starting, sounds like proper ahem implantation bleeding please PIAR or PIAWRIAR, if you prefer, but just confirm either way. Thanks muchly. WinkGrin

Defo CD1 here today, think I jumped the gun yesterday with the hope that AF had arrived and put me out of my misery. Collected DH SA results from months ago but the lazy sod has never been to get them from the Drs, so hours of Dr Google fun ahead for me this evening.

Imps7 · 29/03/2012 18:39

oh god - post before last - "no more of a failure..." rather than "know more of a failure...". Durrr.

Imps7 · 29/03/2012 18:38

Oh, and I discovered yesterday that Jamie and Jules Oliver's first child is an IVF baby! Their second a natural conception, their third was natural but with the help of Clomid (although very nearly IVF) and their fourth a natural conception (although I read something extremely disturbing about how they tried to ensure they conceived a boy. Something to do with a frozen nappy. .)

Imps7 · 29/03/2012 18:35

Oh Scarlett, you poor love. What a bolt out of the blue. I'm sure once the shock has worn off you will be able to get your head around the idea and become more comfortable with it.

Re: the failure thing - to my mind, needing help to conceive makes you know more of a failure than if you need to wear glasses, use an inhaler or inject insulin etc etc. Sometimes nature just needs a helping hand.

Self-medicate away. Hey, I may even join you.

whimsicalname · 29/03/2012 18:33

scarlett cider is fruit and therefore one of your 5 a day. Fact.

Your news must be really shocking, but I think it's good news in its way. You have the go ahead to keep swi, and the knowledge that it can still happen naturally. You also have the reassurance that cogs are in motion in case it doesn't.

Surely I'm not the only person who knows people who were pregnant within minutes (oh alright, days or weeks) of being referred for ivf?

This is just another chapter in your getting a baby story, not the end at all.

That wasn't meant to sound so corny. Sorry.

ScarlettInSpace · 29/03/2012 18:11

Aw thanks guys Thanks I know you are right and I've got fairly lucky with a pro-active consultant. He did say the fact is that I have in the past produced an egg what got fertilised, and OH has produced sperm what have fertilised, and most couples going into IVF don't even have those reassurances that on paper everything works...

I just need to get my head round it I think - beedle you hit the nail on the head with the failure thing, I think I suffer from failurephobia [must be the sales training in me, I've been conditioned for years that you either succeed or fail, and now I sound like a numpty off The Apprentice, I'm not like that honest!]

He talked through the different options but he said ultimately if there is anything wrong it will be with the tube, so the only treatment that gets round that is IVF which makes sense.

OH has been usual masculine voice of reason, he thinks we should at least get into the system before they change the rules again and exclude us for him having kids already, or me for being over the hill lol. He also had the incredibly helpful suggestion that I stop being such a grumpy cow in the mornings so we can SWI more Hmm

Sorry am very memememe, normal service will resume shortly and I will return to I spy related humour and Brooking all over the place I promise x

I have self-medicated by necking nearly a full can of Stella Cidre it was the only alcohol in the fridge

BeedleTheBard · 29/03/2012 17:55

scarlet I'm sorry, I guess we all want a doctor to give us magic pill to get us instantly pregnant. the idea of IVF just seems so huge, but it doesn't mean you've failed ((hugs))

Sorry if that didn't come out quite right

NoMaybeAboutIt · 29/03/2012 17:48

Oh Scarlett that's a huge shock. How are you feeling about it? And your DH? I'm with Shiny its great that something is being done for you

We are all going to be with you through this, brooking all the way

BartletForAmerica · 29/03/2012 17:37

Oh, Scarlett, what a shock for you. I don't know what to say other than we can still keep Brooking No Argument for you, whether it's by SWI or IVF, you will have this baby.

shinyblackgrape · 29/03/2012 17:36

Oh Scarlett. What a shock. I'm so sorry you're feeling like this and I do understand.

The only thing, and I'm conscious that this is very much from an outsider's persective, is that I'm pleased that someone is actually doing something on your behalf rather than just saying relllaaaaaaaaaaaxxxxxx. It will happen etc etc

However, I'm very aware that this is a big shock and you may very well not feel like that so feel free to tell me to piss off etc etc xx
