Aw bean am so sorry to hear things are getting so bad, but please don't leave us. We are one for all, all for brookers. Many hugs to you my dear.

Sorry everyone is feeling down right now, this TTC lark is so difficult on us and our loved ones. But look at the rewards at the end, all those lucky PSEPP grads who now have their snugly bundles of joy. Come on ladies chins up and onwards we all go to our BFPs.

Oh bean. I am so sad to see you go. But I hope the decision is the best one for your family in the long run and see you next month with your ironic bfp

scrambled good to hear your tubes are clear and that it wasn't too painful for you. Brooking furiously that you get a post hsg-bfp this month.

I am officially a wally. After my "I won't even touch a hpt until CD35" speech, I felt compelled to go and do the one in the bathroom cupboard. Which was a bfn. Which reminded me how shit it feels to get a bfn Sad

Sparks who said our cooking was actually edible Wink

Good going on the veggies - it will CHANGE. YOUR. LIFE. (said in a John Torode stylee). Nothing is more satisfying than bringing your dinner in from the garden.

Smegs I'm so glad to hear news of your extra long tubey tubes. I can see a lovely healthy egg wafting its way down one of them and towards an equally healthy swimmer imminently.

No imps they'd clearly be like crack.

Imps7 · 20/03/2012 16:23

I've got some white poppy seeds in my spice cupboard - do you reckon they'd have the same effect?

ScrambledSmegs · 20/03/2012 16:21

Umm, re: food apps/websites, has anyone seen Tastebook.com? I think there are copyright issues occasionally, it's a sort of Pinterest for recipes, but I quite like it. Not actually signed up for it yet.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/03/2012 16:21

Codeine and Maybe don't mix well, apparently I metabolise it more into morphine, therefore it has a bigger effect. Or so I was once told

You are right Bartlett DH is indeed subject to random testing, though he has never had a test to date! Plus he gets stage fright the poor thing Grin

ScrambledSmegs · 20/03/2012 16:13

Well, who'd a thunk it? Here .

BartletForAmerica · 20/03/2012 16:13

Massive cross-posting re: poppy seeds!

BartletForAmerica · 20/03/2012 16:12

Poppy seeds (in large amounts) can give you a positive drugs test as they contain the same compound as heroin/morphine! Shock Perhaps MrMaybe is subject to random drug tests at work?

Well done getting through the HSG, smegs. Am I right in thinking that fertility jumps in the couple of months after one?

bean, we are a grumpy lot at the moment, aren't we? I've certainly contributed enough doom and gloom. I can completely understand your reasons for wanting to step back a bit, but will be sorry to see you go. You know where we all are when you need to nip back in just to hello or to come back properly - although, of course, it will be in the Ante-natal thread because we are all getting pregnant this month.

Sorry about the BFNs. Hope AF stays away and they turn into BFPs.

whims, great idea about the cooking book app. If you do it and if I ever own an iPhone, I'll definitely buy it.

ScrambledSmegs · 20/03/2012 16:12

Ah, my stoopid pooter and it's refusal to refresh the sodding screen! Thanks for that clarification Grin

whimsicalname · 20/03/2012 16:10
ScrambledSmegs · 20/03/2012 16:10

Yes, maybe why are poppy seeds a no-no for tube workers?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/03/2012 16:07

I said the same Whim but apparently it is true, as you metabolise the poppy seeds as morphine/codeine. But there is another test to determine whether it came from drugs or not.

Plus, I'm fairly sure his bread he has for lunch every day has them in it Grin

whimsicalname · 20/03/2012 16:00

I'm convinced that's nonsense. But now I'm tempted to take L&PS muffins round airports and see what happens.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/03/2012 15:59

And that would be drugs, not drungs. He is allowed those in his system Wink

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/03/2012 15:57

Grin Whim. Now, I think it is completely slightly ridiculous, but DH isn't allowed booze/drungs in his system for him job (engineer) and poppy seeds=opium. So any random drugs and alcohol test could pick it up. Apparently Hmm

whimsicalname · 20/03/2012 15:52

maybe I'm intrigued by the incompatibility of poppy seeds and having your bottom on TV.

I have poppy seeds in my muesli everyday and then go to work. Am I risking life and limb?

farfallarocks · 20/03/2012 15:40

smegs glad the HCG was not too painful, get rat smackettering these next few months!

farfallarocks · 20/03/2012 15:39

So sorry to hear the brookers are feeling low today, it comes in waves i think, boo to AFs and BFNs all round.

bean as you well know, I have been in exactly your position with the sex fails and DH not wanting to try, as you know, it really was driving a wedge between us. We reached an awful low the month before I got this BFP.
Is there any way you could just take the pressure off and not try, not prevent and see what happens? Stop all the vits, herbs, acupuncture and things that are reminding you of TTC all the time and just have sex for fun. Or will it be too all consuming for you? You are such a great source of fun, support and humour we would all be gutted to see you leave :(

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/03/2012 15:36

Oh Bean I am going to miss you so much. I love your wise words and calming influence. Please don't go forever. I am so sure you are going to get another BFP though, I really am. That HSG will help wonders.

Oh Whim another poorly LO. The cake is a good food recipe, but it is so yummy. I can't make it often, as DH can't have poppy seeds when he is working.

I need my cook books indexing. I would also like a nice storage for them so I can buy even more

Smegs great news on your tubes

ScrambledSmegs · 20/03/2012 15:29

And... I had my HSG. It was a bit uncomfortable and I was shaky at first, but it was really quick. My tubes are completely clear, but very long. At least there wasn't something else to worry about, anyway. Mild crampy feelings at the moment, but nothing compared to proper period pains. Phew! The worst bit was the wait - it was a 2pm appointment and they saw me at 2:40. I was waiting in this tiny cubicle in my hospital gown for nearly half an hour Hmm

About to have a Brew and a sit down, and read back todays news.
