Hello!

Nobody is more surprised than me to find myself here so soon after having DD (11 months). In fact I'm going to have to have my implant out next week, I wasn't planning on another baby for at least a couple of years.

But things have worked out such that a baby next year would work very well & we are both very broody.

Anybody fancy joining me?

Xx

Yes, I did a clear blue. Very clear. Pregnant!

Yes, I'm still bf
And ill have ti continue at least until she drinks from a cup as DD has refused a bottle. I'm hoping that she'll be done before too long so I get a little break between them

SunshineOutdoors · 25/03/2012 18:34

Wow! Congratulations! Surely a faint line is still a positive? I keep hearing so many conflicting things about bf and ttc, but having no periods yet I've decided to reduce the bf. Morning and night at mo, and as of Thurs before bedtime only.

soandsosmummy are you going to do another test? And are you still bf? Are you going to continue? Bet you're dead excited, that must be great after waiting so long for number 1

soandsosmum · 25/03/2012 13:44

I am. DD is 10m and we waited 3 years for her so never had plans to use contraception again.

HV told me I'll have to stop bf to get my periods back. I said I'd had them since DD was 8wks (when she slept 10 hrs a night for two months. Teaser!) HV said, oh but you won't be ovulating. Having waited 3 yrs I know too much A Lot about ov and think I may be pregnant! Only got a faint line so far though

Anyone still ttc? How's it going?

Dop I have started trying your technique. I started yesterday and am only feeding first thing and last thing, offering formula in-between. We'll see how it goes.

toobreathless have you had your implant out? Does it take a while to get out of your system or are you able to get cracking straight away?

sunshineoutdoors · 13/03/2012 05:58

Wow, congratulations dop!

DreamingOfPeace · 12/03/2012 23:56

I had to drop bf in day suddenly to get periods back while ttc. Still bf morning, night and overnight. Worked for me. First period exactly 2 weeks later, pg after one full cycle. I am so lucky. got pg when dd 10 months, and like bagofholly am having twins. 23 days to go before my CS.

Good luck op!

Yawner247 · 12/03/2012 23:39

I believe (not speaking from experience, but from a friend) that the twelve week scan is the dating scan so if you are unsure as to when your dates are the midwife/gp would refer you for a dating scan to date your pregnancy as for the others I can't answer a I'm in the same boat!! Grin

sunshineoutdoors · 12/03/2012 10:51

Again, can I not cani.

sunshineoutdoors · 12/03/2012 10:51

Cani ask people who got pregnant without a period in between how did you know you were pregnant? And how far along were you? And how did you know how far along you were? I know the 12 week scan dates your pregnancy but how did you know when to have the 12 week scan?

Yawner247 · 12/03/2012 00:08

haha

BagofHolly · 11/03/2012 23:35

Twins are much more like to have twins themselves. And once you've had one set you're much more likely to have a second set! I'm scaring you now, aren't I?!

Yawner247 · 11/03/2012 23:27

I should indeed be careful...I was a twin...I survived and unfortunately the other twin didn't survive past 12 weeks During pregnancy and my husbands cousin had twins...they had two children and thought one more and ended up with twins!!! Does this make me more susceptible to twins?! Nahhhhhhh didn't think so either!! Grin

BagofHolly · 11/03/2012 23:20

Yep! Be careful what you wish for! Good luck!

Yawner247 · 11/03/2012 23:14

Haha bagofholly we joke about that but you never know what's in store!!! Grin

BagofHolly · 11/03/2012 23:09

We did this. 20 month gap between ds1 and our twins. I love every atom of all of them but it's my greatest regret that we didn't leave bigger gaps. I might not have felt like that with a singleton but no one knows they're having twins till they're having twins. Just saying...

Yawner247 · 11/03/2012 19:43

Ahhh sunshine I'm glad I'm not the only one!! Grin yes they say a good four to six hour gap between feeds is what you should be aiming for with as little night feeds as poss again I believe six hour blocks or more is good! And i have done the same re small/short feeds however now she doesn't tend to do this very often now! I have posted before re bf and ovulating and it seems it's very much a personal thing that varies woman to woman!! Dd has gone today from 9am until 6pm with her feeds and then she will be going to bed around 8ish and will be having a feed! Still no period!!!! Hehe I find it very frustrating!

skirmish · 11/03/2012 19:10

I got pg with dc2 whilst exclusively bf'ing dc1 (who was only 3mths). Never had a period. It is easily done Grin

sunshineoutdoors · 11/03/2012 19:06

I have already poas twice as was convinced I had pregnancy symptoms both times! Just trying to swi as much as possible - ideally every other day but realistically only about twice a week due to tiredness, need to prioritise more! Sorry if that's tmi but this is a conception thread!

What do you know about bf and ovulating? Am I right in trying to stretch times between feeds? It means she's staying longer at the breast each time? And sometimes if she has a short feed I try again shortly after as long as it's a few short feeds in the space of about an hour I class it as one feed.

Yawner247 · 11/03/2012 19:05

That should've been two poas btw! And sorry about the other typos!!! Blush if you find an ovulation booster keep me posted!! Most people say its natural spacing your bodies not ready yet but I am ready!!

Yawner247 · 11/03/2012 18:59

sunshine I know what you mean re breastfeeding and being less faff with being off for the year I decided to continue to bf...I have been keeping track of feeding times too as I've read nipple stimulation/time at the breast affects the return of your period! I have been keeping a record of my cervical mucus as read that this is a good indicator of fertile times etc but not sure if I'm pissing in the wind with that one like my opk however I've only done one test when cervical mucus was looking like possible fertile period!!!
A couple of months ago I was convinced I was pregnant to poas later and no joy....I really want to be pregnnt when I return to work then I have an exit strategy!!! Envy of these bfing early period returners!!!
Re bottle:- I was thinking about the bottles with the straw in, like a sports bottle type thing I think nuby do one and thought I would have a look when I went shopping, will let you know if I find one!

sunshineoutdoors · 11/03/2012 18:49

What is this bottle without a teat? Sounds promising... Maybe then I could mixed feed and not have to faff about with a steriliser? (dd not too keen on bottles either though)

sunshineoutdoors · 11/03/2012 18:47

Can I not cani!
