lolfactor - not that easily unfortunately as took 4 years of ttc to get there despite no obvious problems - having said that things do now appear to be sort of working. I hope! I think part of it was that having been on pill for over 20 years it took time for it to work itself out.

Maisie hope your monitor does the trick. There are plenty of top tips available from various peeps on here if DH?s results come back a little below par. Declining infertility in older men is regularly overlooked. Not something the Daily Mail covers, whereas they are more than happy to regularly sensationalise similar issues for women.

Goth sorry is not looking great for you this month, but your overall chances sound good.

I'd forgotton until pulling up at the hospital on Sunday, that 9 months ago I was starting tests for immune issues. Was getting good embryos from IVF but failed to implant. Had never been pregnant up until that point, but by the time I'd started those tests finally was expecting.... Must remember how lucky I've been when they won't give me an epidural.

I'm 44, have DS 19, DD1 12, DD2 8, had a MC at 11 wks in March, got pregnant again after first AF and unfortunately had another MC last week at approx 6 weeks.
I had an AMH test to check ovarian reserve after the first miscarriage and got a low normal, apparently not bad for someone my age.
It's very encouraging to read all the success stories, it makes me feel there's still hope!

Hi all - hugs to everyone that needs one. Just read the stats list, there are a lot of recent graduates/ pgs it would seem, so much for doom and gloom!

Had my appointment with the clinic today as follow up from MC (4 weeks ago at 7 weeks). They said that they didn't think there was any real point trying Clomid or anything similar to boost fertility as I was obviously ov normally, similarly no point going down the IVF route at this stage given natural conception. They also said that given the symptoms I had described for a late period a few months ago it was probable my recent MC was actually MC no.2 not 1. They basically just said keep trying and there was a decent chance I would be able to get pg again and gave me lifestyle tips (which were obvious).

On minus side pretty sure not pg this month as feel as though AF is about to start. Oh well there's always next.

Still going to be lurking rather than on here loads but hope everyone is okay.

Wow, I am really struggling to keep up with everyone's news etc. but it's great to hear such lovely stories and positive messages. Everyone here is so supportive .

Currently on day 14 of this cycle and trying out my new shiny digital monitor thingy. Had to start testing on Day 6 even though I know I don't usually OV until about day 19/20. It gave me a 'high' reading from day 9 which also seems early so I'm all agog to see if I get my peak around the day 19 mark as per the smiley face tests. Hopefully the monitor will get better over subsequent cycles!

DH gave another sample last week, just for peace of mind really, so now awaiting the result of that.

Hi all - updated list here. NO chance of this baby coming today :-( so can't update the graduates list, sigh. FF got to 3 cm yet? Read your post from waaaay back, saying you wouldn't want to be induced. Wondering if you'd changed your mind or are still as chilled as you sound?

All thanks for adding/tweaking. Have you noticed how many preggos and graduates there are? Surely the statistics for older women are flawed! I realise how much heartache is hidden in the flippant MC abbreviation - so few of us have been immune - yet there is hope, especially for those who have been told that poor egg reserve means 'no chance'. It doesn't happen for everyone - but it CAN and DOES happen more often than 'they' suggest.

clickingtock (aka Beangrower) 42. DS1. BFP after 16 months TTC DC2.

RECENT GRADUATES
Diege, 42, ds2 born October 2011, 10 months trying. Dc number 5! Samuel born happily in the snug.

Beattiebow (BB) 41 - just had #6. 2 miscarriages, several chemical pregnancies. Preg after 16 months trying. Used CBFM and Progesterone. (tried temping and clomid also).
Shandybass - 41 , 3 mcs, then DD delivered safely, if a little late!
Herecomesthesun - DS1 at 44, DD at 47 - both conceived naturally. PCOS and went on metformin, which apparently can help reduce the risk of recurrent miscarriage. Was recommended vit B supplements such as pyridoxine (B6) and B12 and also folic acid 5mg daily (DH's family have history of mild spina bifida type defects).

Fifitot, 47. Had DC1 at 43 and DC2 at 47.
spottysox, 44. DD1 - Labour was 51 minutes from start to finish.
TTT, 41. Sadly lost DD1, aged 3. DD2 conceived naturally after 15 months and delivered safely in the snug.

diege good luck with those results. I ended up having a LLETZ a few years ago too. Not an overly pleasant procedure but needed to be done - think I had CIN 3 or something? Smears been fine since - still on the annual smear programme for 10 years. I remember feeling terribly worried about it all at the time though. ((hugs)).

Yes, think the SANDS service was cathartic & allowed me to further grieve but I had buried that pain for some time & you forget how painful & horrible it is? Better to be worked through though. fireflies you made me laugh with that parking story...

angel sorry to hear that today has been hard. Maybe the SANDS event was cathartic for you in some way, allowing you to feel sad while you also feel so much love. You love both your girls immeasurably, and that has to be a conflict when what you want most in the world is to have them both with you.

That's how I am feeling anyway... On Saturday, at DH's 'alternative' birthday, we announced publicly that I am pregnant with Mia's little sibling, a gift of hope you all know I feel has been granted to us by Mia. Upon hearing the news, the room was filled with smiles and tears in equal measures as we tried to convey both the happiness and fear we both feel, and the challenges and new opportunity that a second child may bring to us. It is so very hard to balance the pain with the love we feel, both for Mia and her little sibling. Joy and love and fear, mixed all together. I just want my little red-head back to be here, and to be a big sister, just like one of her little friends, gently stroking the hair of her recently arrived sibling. I want my DH to smile on Father's Day because of Mia. And we can't. Our loss and our joy both seem very great.

I am 42, one MC in 2009, one naturally conceived DD, Mia, born Sept 10, but who died unexpectedly Oct 12 ; now naturally conceived pg 15+2, and hoping for an uneventful and peaceful time...

somewhere do you have a basal body thermometer? Really useful alongside the OPK for pinpointing ovulation, especially if you chart using the FertileFriend system. Definitely recommend it all... Fingers crossed for you!

Back from monitoring. LOs HB fine. MW excitable about my BP being a bit high along with protein in urine, so waiting for a call about that. My feet are v puffy too.

Still, no wonder BP up. Was diff to get parking spot at hosp. When I did eventually spot an old couple who were leaving, hovered with indicators on. Noticed hulking great guy on foot also hovering and on phone (he'd passed me as I was waiting). When old dears backed out he went and stood in the middle of the spot and tried to stop me parking there. F**r! So I just drove at him. Fortunately he moved, but I was greeted to a torrent of abuse when I got out and then he complained that I was being rude when I told him to get out of my fecking way. He went snivveling to his GF who he was trying to hold space for that I'd nearly run him over. Seriously, Shrek sized, tattoed twunt of a guy vs heavily preggers 5'4'' laydee.... Spose I should calm down a little though, right?
