ok ok freshener - god will this preghead NEVER GO?

diege brilliant news about the excellent teacher award nomination! I'm laughing at the same time because I'm nominating myself for the s**t teacher award after welcoming my new cover teacher and the Head of Department into my classroom and only to have them point out that my word of the week (proudly displayed on the board) was misspelt. Oh the shame!!! Blush Blame my prehead! I'd been looking at it for days thinking, 'that looks odd' but never twigged why!

The boys were so supportive and said they'd changed it deliberately, bless them. They SO don't want this supply teacher - admittedly, his BO was so strong we had to open the windows afterwards and spray air freshner.

Italian it's a recognised fact that spending lots of time with babies and pregnant ladies helps predispose your body to welcoming the same - although it takes a brave person to go along. Am praying for your womb to welcome the frostie gang.

Hippy Hi hun. How's it going?

Gum I'm so Envy that you and Hippy look fab in those vests! After plunging from D to B after DS1, I've never got my confidence back. Picture of socks and golfballs springs to mind. I've got wacking preggo knockers at the mo and was hoping these might impress DP, but no...he says he's so aware that there are 3 of us in bed now that he can't feel sexy Hmm.

Love to all. Fireflies it was me with the fertility cup. Tbh they were more like femidoms and I only tried once. However, I would have continued - and would have used the preseed gel I'd bought. I also did a shoulder stand for 2 mins - no kidding - after SWI. Trust me, I was so determined, I'd have eaten raw hamster burgers if someone had told me they would help. Mia my FHS was 13.5 and I was devastated. The others are right, though. It was 13.5 THAT month. A year earlier it had been 5! Who knows what the average really was?

Jolls absolutely delighted for you. Brilliant news!

Diege · 17/03/2012 09:23

Morning! YOu're sounding in good spirits Italian - great that the docs seem to have figured out the cause of your tiredness. Have they prescibed an alternative? Will try and sort out the cardamon coffee Are you a cinnamon person too? I bet the baby shower was a little tough - don't blame you for not doing the bump art though...seems a bit odd getting other people to partake, though different strokes and all that Grin
Gum good going on the SWI. I have a feeling that you'll get there in the end you know. You are obviously still ovulating which is more than I'm doing (is that normal post birth? Having periods but no temp rises - not that is matters of course Blush). I'm going back to my usual hrs at work (4 days a week) but can hopefully still work from home on the Thursday so, for now will be putting S into nursery 3 days a week. Your nanny souds great - maybe she could be tempted to look after a newborn?
Day out with friend in town today, talking S along so not massively relaxing but better than nothing. Need to replenish my make-up supply - am thinking the new Clinique foundation that promises to dimish dark spots - have lots post-baby or perhaps they are age spots Shock. Anyway, need to get myself sorted for return to work. Have found out too that I have been nominated for a teaching excellence award which is nice to hear. Only have to fill in a telephone directory of forms though Hmm
Hope everyone is well - there are only cold snacks on the bistro 'morning after' trolley now!

Italiangreyhound · 17/03/2012 02:13

Off to bed now but must share this site, the sound of the babies names is said in a really creepy voice and seems to get the names pronounced in a quite weird way. Very unusual. May we all soon be scouring it for ideas!

Hugs to all.....

Watching One born every minute USA.

Just found out another friend is having her fourth!

Went to a baby shower last week, my first. I did it all, except paint the bumb and hold the baby that was there.

I was very proud of myself!

I have even offered to visit a friend in hospital when she has a baby! I am brave. I just remember that I visited a friend in hospital just before I found out I was having DD. Hope I am not being superstitious about it! I mean about wanting to do it! I guess the new mum may like it, she is having a C-section and may appreciate it.

By the way, I had our intralipids at home this week, all fine. She did not use the big needle! Phew.

Hugs to all.

Have found out the meds I was on for my heart MAY be what has been making me so exhausted so am VERY happy the doctors has taken them away!!! Yay....

I have gone back to New ID a course I did about my eating problems a while ago newid.org/

and I have gone to see the course leader and there will be a follow up. I had really wanted the course to work for me but it did not appear top and now I have found out that one drug I am on (not fertility drug) can also contribute to weight gain! So maybe the course and follow up support can help me.

I LOVE this song; love this version

Jolls - Yay! Fabulous news. I second what Hippy says.

Yes Deige, managed to SWI the night before +Opk (yesterday), and slipping the vest on again this morning...I'm hoping DH will cooperate. I'm feeling rumblings in the left ovary, so hopefully it will be good timing. I just hope there's a lovely egg this time.

Your Salt and Pepper chicken has me craving salt and pepper squid.Yum. I'll have some oysters to start, and then a lemony velvet tart for dessert. Thankyou!Smile

Renovating is a nightmare, but it'll be worth it when you've got a lovely new bathroom.

Where does Samuel go when you go back to work? Do you have a nice childminder or do you use a nanny? Are you going back to full-time work?

I'm thinking about how we'd manage if I was to be lucky enough to have another babe. I doubt I'd be able to have as much time off as I've had this past maternity leave (3 years), but my childminder, who is fabulous and Charlie is in love with, doesn't do babies under 1. I guess I should just concentrate on the SWI for now!Hmmbefore worry too much about other stuff. I suppose it is just that I feel ambivalent about it, and I'm just trying to reassure myself.

One step at a time...or one shag at a.....sorryBlush

Diege · 16/03/2012 20:45
Grin Right, bistro open! I'm having salt and pepper chicken, with sauteed potatoes. Tirimisu to finish, and a large jug of bucks fizz to wash it down with.

Bathroom being gutted here which is very much spoling my last 2 weeks of maternity leave Angry. Still, the end result will be worth it Hmm

hopefulgum · 14/03/2012 23:33

Yes, all this herbal/supplement stuff can be confusing.

Hi Deige -sounds like life is busy at your place.

I'm running late for work.Argh!

Still haven't managed SWI and it's day 13, I'm thinking O day will be in the next couple of days, so had better get my vest on....can you spell L-A-Z-Y!Grin

Diege · 14/03/2012 19:26

Hello! Have been reading but failing miserably to keep up. I did take agnus castus when ttc dc2, and it did (I feel) work quite well by lengthening my luteal phase from 7 days or so to an almost repectable 10/11. I was temping too and from memory I stopped taking it when I got a temp rise (I seem to ovulate on the actual temp rise day too rather than a day or so after). I remember reading conflciitng things about when to stop taking it, but erred on the side of caution and only took up to ovulation. It still increased my LP, so efectively 'worked', though I did read that it takes 3 mths or so to work. Combined with vit B6 too, which again I stopped taking at ov - not sure why Confused as I started on it again to help with the hyperemesis (only cyclezine hekped with that!).
Love to all - having a hectic week - bathroom being ripped out, plus some supporting walls, dh's 50th today - eek!! and back at work in a week. Will be back for sure to get the bistro off to a good start though on Fri xxx

blackcatsdancing · 14/03/2012 12:45

twirly, see that makes things even more confusing if your website say to stop yet its in fertilityblend. Its a minefield!

Twirlyagogo · 14/03/2012 12:31

blackcatsdancing - no problem, it wasn't rude; maybe it seemed like I was being naive in the advice I took anyway. It was actually the website I bought it from which suggested it was only taken up until ovulation. I have been to a herbalist before, some years ago, and herbalism is certainly something I feel can help/work in tems of ttc.

blackcatsdancing · 14/03/2012 12:16

just like sometimes even GPs get it wrong...

blackcatsdancing · 14/03/2012 12:14

i don't mean that to sound rude. These threads are great places to share information and best of all to give support but you can never know for certain that what the other person is saying is correct. Plus supplements and herbs really are quite dicey things to self medicate with (some herbs anyway) so what i'm saying is read what people say but check it out later, do additional research.

blackcatsdancing · 14/03/2012 12:05

twirly I've been taking agnus castus for the past few days and was also confused about internet posts where people said you shouldnt take it post ovulation. I think people should be very careful in taking any notice of what is said anecdotally on threads re herbs and supplements and indeed on almost anything. I know in areas i feel confident about- food poisoning especially , women have said blatantly wrong things on MN threads and been very authoritative in the way they have said it .
I'm still confused about agnus castus but it is in fertility blend- a preconception supplement and you take that throughout your cycle, though the doseage isn't given so it may be a very low amount. That's authoritative enough for me, i'm sure they've done their research and they are not selling a product which rather than help conception will lead to a miscarriage. If i get a BFP this month i'll stop taking it immediately unless in the meantime i read anything that conflicts with that. There is some info here and earlier today i found a link to lots of research papers none of which gave me cause for concern, sadly i've lost the link. anyway some general info here, i can't vouch for the accuracy of it though!
www.wholehealthmd.com/ME2/dirmod.asp?nm=Reference+Library&type=AWHN_Supplements&mod=Supplements&tier=2&id=B876FF3FB5FE45E7AC1B9AB8D2E94726

Hope everyone is well. My body seems (touch wood) to be behaving properly now. If i see another sustained temp rise tomorrow it means i most likely ovulated on Monday- hurray! Also we had lots of sex around that time. So trying not to get hopes too much up as its still so early since ERPC ( 6 weeks tomorrow) but you never know!

Twirlyagogo · 14/03/2012 11:21

hopefulgum I'm on day 11 just now and haven't ovulated - I think the agnus castus gave me a good clearing out as I was still bleeding on day 8 which is very unusual and it was old blood, so maybe this cycle will be different anyway and she'll end up testing me on the right day by default!

I thought you shouldn't take agnus castus past ovulation as it can cause mc if you do conceive? I stopped because I thought I'd be ovulating early as usual, but I do feel that it got rid of some old stuff.

hopefulgum · 14/03/2012 09:13

Twirly - I'm surprised that your doctor isn't considering that you need that test 7 days post ovulation, rather than on day 20 of a 25 day cycle. Sounds like she doesn't know about fertility tests, the earlier tests can give information about your fertility.

So how many days post ovulation will you be on day 20? If it is a lot more than 7 days, then your progesterone will be at a lower amount (unless you are pregnant), which might then give you results that say you aren't ovulating, or are in need of progesterone.

Perhaps your doctor ought to consult someone who knows about the tests. My doctor is also happy to do what I request but has admitted she doesn't all that much about fertility as she is a GP, and will contact a fertility specialist to find out how much progesterone to take when I fall pregnant.

Agnus castus can be taken all cycle i think, in fact I've heard it can be good for keeping progesterone levels high. However, I'm not sure, and someone else might have a better idea.

Mia, I don't think your FSH is too high. Mine is 12, and my doctor said that is expected at my age, but a fertility doctor would say I'm running out of time - but no surprises there, and I'm not worried about it.

I'm still feeling ambivalent about ttc. I think I've almost reached saturation point and I just keep worrying about how hard it will be.

Of course if I got a bfp I'd be over the moon with happiness, I'd just have to convince everyone else in the family that it's a good idea!LOL.Grin

Twirlyagogo · 14/03/2012 08:31

She also said that she'd had 2 women older than me who had conceived naturally this year alone, so maybe there is a tiny bit of hope left!

Twirlyagogo · 14/03/2012 08:30

Hi all - I posted earlier this month about whether to get tests done and what I should ask for, and got some very helpful advice.

The GP has put me in for Day 21 tests - actually on Day 20 due to when the weekend falls; when I pointed out that I had a 25 day cycle, she said that didn't matter as they still needed to be Day 21. Is that right? It doesn't sound right . . .

I asked about the early-in-cycle tests and she didn't know what those were.

She seems happy to sign me up for anything, but I think I'll have to be quite specific about what I want.

I've started Bvits - do I take them for the whole cycle? Also agnus castus - but stopped that on day 9; again, is that right?

Thanks again!

Italiangreyhound · 13/03/2012 23:23

Huge hugs to you all. Wink
