wow just logged in during my lunch hour and saw your great news! Congratulations lolfactor enjoy your lovely new son! 2 born in almost as many days!

lolfactor · 25/06/2012 13:18

Teddy (aka lolbean) born this morning after eventful but safe 16 hour labour. So pleased I opted for the epidural at 5 cms as he got stuck for 6 hours at 7 cms! He's only 8lb5oz but is 'like Charlie Gum. So relieved he is out and gorgeous. You guys helped me every step of the way. I raved about your knowledge, support and kindness to the midwives. Thank you for helping me achieve this dream!

hopefulgum · 25/06/2012 00:59

Huge congratulations fireflies, such good news that your little one is here safe and sound. I hope all is going well.

irishmammy, I understand that feeling of urgency. I can't help feling that I should have started TTC sooner- like in my thirties, but I didn't realize that I wanted more at that stage.

blackcats, I'm so sorry you've had another loss. It really sucks. I'm sad that getting a bfp no longer feels exciting and full of promise, but more a step towards getting a baby.

I didn't end up with the flu, but have spent the weekend nursing my boy who has had gastro bug. Poor little thing has been so unhappy and poorly. We have had very disturbed nights,so I am feeling a bit worse for wear. Of course I then wonder why the heck I want another baby, worrying how I would cope with sleep deprivation. The hard work is worth it though.

Ooh can't wait to hear lol's news.

Congratulations fireflies on the safe arrival of your little boy!

Blackcat,so sorry to hear of your loss .
I know how you feel. I had a MC in March, got pregnant again after my first AF and miscarried at 6 weeks recently. Even though an early MC is easier physically it's still a great loss and it is difficult when you're still grieving for the last one.
TTC isn't easy at all, esp in your 40s, for me there's more of a sense of urgency as I feel time may be running out.
Hopefully the next few months will bring us both a BFP and successful outcome!
x

blackcatsdancing · 24/06/2012 08:59

i meant my BFP turned into a BFN but i expect you all worked that out!

blackcatsdancing · 24/06/2012 08:58

Hi all, lovely to hear fireflies good news :)

i'm more of a lurker on here but wanted to update stats. Managed to get pregnant again recently after my MMC and erpc back at the start of Feb, relieved as i had started to think it was never going to happen again. Sadly the BFP turned into a BFP a few days later and i started bleeding so i had a very early mc. Glad it was early on and am going to try again but obviously don't feel great about thing. Not easy is it TTC at this age? well TTC and ending up with a baby to take home isn't.

Diege · 24/06/2012 08:56

Evening all. On bb so can barely read this so keeping it short! Baby Boy Fireflies arrived 10pm 21 June, significantly on the longest day. Traumatic emcs, but all's well that ends well. He is gorgeous! Hugs to all and more of an update when back home in day or so.

Fireflies xx

Italiangreyhound · 23/06/2012 02:58

Miaalexandersmummy so sorry to hear how sad and hard it is at the moment. Sad

huge hugs to Angelgeorgie*.

Thinking of you Hippy, Gum and all.

Welcome IrishMammy, Maisie, Goth and Kiwi and all others who are relatively new.

Diege thanks for asking. Hope you are well. I am happier; the big thing for me is that the desperation has gone. If adoption works out, great, if not, great. I am getting on with work and life and am happy. I love my DD so much and now knowing she may be my only child I actually feel I love her more! I wish I could have gotten into this place earlier but it just did not happen! The open day is in September. I am feeling more like I would be open to a boy of girl (having been quite keen on a girl ? just always imagined myself with two girls, but then I am one of two girls). But now feel much more open about that. Smile

Hi Somewhere - no I don?t really have an Italian greyhound, in fact I have not dog, just a hamster and also DD has decided she wants a snail! So went and found one in the street and called it ?Bob?. Poor thing is currently trying to escape the cardboard box. I will release him tomorrow! Wink

HUGE HUGS TO ALL.

hopefulgum · 23/06/2012 01:04

Morning all. Those curries sounded delish! I think I'm probably too late for the bistro, but perhaps I'll have leftovers for lunch?

I fear I may be getting the dreaded lurgy that everyone around here has had lately. I'm hoping it's just a cold, but feel a rapid decline into flu coming on. My friend was off work for two weeks and ended up with pnuemonia. I do hope I'll not go that way. I slept really badly - feeling very hot - cue thoughts of dreaded menopause Hmm, but have woken up with headache, aching bones and a head full of snot...bugger. Just because it is the weekend and the house is a wreck and my MIL is visiting. Don't know how I'll drag myself through the housework. Think my girls will have to step up...

Lol, perhaps your LO is just not ready to appear just yet. I know how difficult the last week/days can be, especially when the bump is huge. With Charlie, I just couldn't wait to meet the little boy that had been making me so uncomfortable. He came the day after his due date, and after several visits to the acupuncturist to get things started. I don't know if the visits helped, but at least I didn't get induced (which was scheduled 2 days after he came).

Gothinrecovery, sorry this cycle wasn't a bfp. Perhaps next cycle things will be back to normal. Mine has been extra long after the chemical. If I go by the second bleed (which came three weeks after the chemical, and wasn't AF as I was still getting positive preg tests til a few days before) then I should be a few days away from ovulating. But I won't count on it,going buy previous miscarriages. Anyway, the way I feel, there'll be no shagging til I feel better.

gothinrecovery · 22/06/2012 21:12

kiwibabe - know what you mean about the stress - think here is a good place to let off steam.
