Hello ladies, come and share the tedious 2ww with us!

OP posts:
Winkly · 27/02/2012 11:57

Oh Cherry it's hard to not get your hopes up. I'm really struggling to hold off testing - difficult not to get my hopes up since I threw up my toast this morning. Even DH is joining in with symptom spotting now!

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/02/2012 11:55

So have I just because I can't face doing it all again next month.

cherrypiew3 · 27/02/2012 11:30

Hi DH21 it's not very busy on here today. CD 24 for me and I'am feeling very emotional hope that's not a sign of AF. I know I shouldn't of but I have really built my hopes up this month.

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/02/2012 11:20

Its gone quiet on here today, how is everyone?

CD20 for me, have booked lots of things to do this week to take my mind off it!

sedgieloo · 27/02/2012 08:23

Winkly I bought this last month, in case it doesn't show which option, I got 30 OP tests and 10 HPT and preseed.

I want to say more but toddler won't let me will try to post later.

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/02/2012 08:14

I'm really worried now that I'm OV but won't get to dtd til tomo eve Confused

backwardpossom · 27/02/2012 08:07

Congrats Detective! Hope this is the start of many more!

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/02/2012 07:18

thedetective congratulations!

Hopefully we'll all be joining you in a week or so :)

PogoBob · 26/02/2012 23:57

Congrats Detective Grin

TheDetective · 26/02/2012 23:54

The Tesco cheapy gave me a clearer positive Grin feels much more real now!

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/02/2012 22:01

With either type of OPK, it helps to work out when your fertile period is likely to start. It's usually the length of your usual cycle minus 17 days. So, if you have a 28-day cycle, start testing on day 11 and carry on for six days. Use our ovulation calculator to help you work out when your "fertile window" is likely to be.

Copied from the babycenter website, hope it helps :)

Winkly · 26/02/2012 21:45

How many get used per cycle? Do you just use them slightly before you think you've ov'd until you get a positive? Two sleeps til period day. Really struggling to not do a pointless test.

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/02/2012 21:15

I hope so, Im feeling quite up for it again tonight though but don't think dh is keen!

I'm thinking of getting OPK from eBay, you can get loads for just a few quid so saving lots of ££

Winkly · 26/02/2012 20:49

If you dtd last night and ov today, that should be fine I think.

I think I might use opks next cycle. I'm going to buy them when AF comes. How many sticks typically get used in each cycle?

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/02/2012 19:19

I know how you're feeling it's a horrible wait/ limbo time.

We dtd last night, have slight 'tugging' on the right. I wish I'd bought OV tests I hate not knowing when it's happened. Prob won't dtd tonight and dh is working overnight tomorrow so won't get to dtd til tues night. If I'm OV today will that be enough dtd?!

ChairOfTheBored · 26/02/2012 19:02

Am now 5 days late. Which isn't that much I know, but having established a really rather reliable 28-29 day cycle is v annoying to be on day 34 with still no sign but a load of BFN tests. If for no other reason than the sooner AF turns up the sooner it's over and we can start again. Sigh. Patience was never my strong point.

sedgieloo · 26/02/2012 17:25

Thanks to all for the congratulations!! Getting excited now. Learning SIL is also 5 wks actually made it feel more real, they were so happy, I started to think yeah its for real for me too and we also need to get happy!! You know that happy/slightly scared feeling some get with their bfp.... So yes pipsicles I am going to tell the family sooner now there's another baby on the way it will be great to see their faces!

I forget who asked me what I did different (I threw everything at it last month I could think of) but I'll post asap - just gotta cook tea first.

detective very many congratulations to you!!!

cherrypiew3 · 26/02/2012 14:43

Possum AF is due to visit me on the same day as you I think and I am going crazy hopefully she will stay away from both of us.

I feel very weird tummy is very crampy and boobs hurt this however could all be in my head.

TheDetective · 26/02/2012 12:06

DP has been despatched to Tesco for more tests :D Anyone know the sensitivity of the tesco own brand tests?

Thanks ladies! Muchos excitement in the detective household!

Winkly · 26/02/2012 11:58

Congratulations thedetective

dh Fx for you.

possum I know how you feel. I could test now but don't want to see that BFN. I'm symptom spotting like a crazy lady. This is how bad I am - I've had a really sore wrist for 2 days and no idea why. Fine, but this week there's been a thread from a lady whose wrist going sore was a very early symptom for her, and she got a BFP. Obviously I've just slept on mine or something but...

Some other things as well. Roll on Tuesday.

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/02/2012 11:37

Wow thedetective that's a really early BFP! Congratulations!!

I'm feeling v crampy and stabby today. Really hoping its a good sign. FX

backwardpossom · 26/02/2012 11:20

6 days until I test... I'm cracking up. I keep symptom spotting, but guess it's all psychosomatic. My boobs are a bit sore in the evening, I've got excess cm, (sorry for tmi!), excess saliva and feel a bit spaced out... Hmm

I could probably test before Saturday, but don't want to get a negative by testing too early (as opposed to a negative by testing when/if AF is late) as I'll still end up testing on the Sat anyway if AF hasn't reared her ugly head.

TheDetective · 26/02/2012 11:15

I didn't realise everyone else had sloped off the other thread! Whoops! I got a faint BFP on the 24th, 10dpo (at least that is when I think I ov'd). That was CD22. Since coming off the pill I've had 26 day cycles - getting faint bfp's on CD 25 the last 2 months before AF arrived on CD26. So wasn't holding out much hope as the faint bfp was even earlier this time at CD22.

However, 36 hours later I did a clear blue digital as they were on offer in Asda! I got a BFP!! 1-2 weeks!!!!

I'd like to think its for real this time, but you never know. I tested again with a cheapy one and got a very faint positive, but this one is 100iu of HCG, so I'm taking that as a positive sign. pardon the pun I will do another tomorrow, but a 50iu as it should be a stronger BFP.

So I am 3 weeks 3 days according to LMP, but I think I am 12DPO now.

By the way, for the symptom spotters! I have no symptoms at all - I did the previous 2 months, with amazingly sore boobs after ovulation til the day I came on. I don't normally get sore boobs any time of the month. I suspect I've got 2 weeks 1 day until the sickness starts.

Oh, and I had no signs I had ov'd either. I did use opks but I didn't get a positive, but I did start using them a bit late in the cycle at CD12 which is actually when I think I ov'd. I had no increase in libido, no change in CM, if anything it became 'fertile at CD19! DP said I normally change in 'smell' when I ovulate, and become 'irresistible' to him, but that didn't happen this month...

Bloody strange I tell ya! I was all ready to count this (our 3rd cycle) out!

BFP YEAH BABY!!

Ive been feeling 'heavy' and tbh not preg.

If it doesnt happen this month Im going to try really hard to chill out yeah right

chairofthebored how many days late are you now?

ellesabe Im on cd19 today, CM is still creamy though, it has been the whole way through so I either havent OV or thats just what mine is like even during OV, hoping its the latter!
If you OV late does that mean AF is due later?

pipsicles · 26/02/2012 09:27

Sedgie, congratulations!!! How do you feel about sharing your pg with your SIL? I shared my first with a friend - due dates were one day apart and it was brilliant!

Welcome Winkly!

I'm sorry to hear so many of us are feeling down, but loads of us are on very similar dpos, and we are just getting to that really difficult bit where we know that it is probably still too early to test, and all our symptoms could be AF, but could not Confused

I was feeling certain that AF will be coming this week yesterday, but then had a temperature spike this morning, like Sedgie, which I had with my first pg too... Now to see if it lasts!
