Welcome aboard ladies.
Please be seated, you may undo your seatbelts as soon as you see the SWI sign light up.

I'll be coming round with cake, biscuits and wine.

Come on girls, we can do it this month.

Heads held high and legs akimbo, off we go.

Grin pipbin I like your style!!

Chunkychicken · 23/02/2012 19:22

Wow pandawatch that's some helpful research - and I thought the constant eating stuffing my face full of cake/choc/anything going was just for fun, but now I know it helps with the boy thing, there's no reason to stop!! :o Will eat more bananas & have cereal every morning, come rain or shine. Already on a strict alternating regime of different preg vits to get the diff proportions of diff vits & mins, so something else won't hurt. :)

Did you see the research on the BBC about sleep? Apparently mid-sleep nookie is the way to go. As DH has been waking me in the middle of the night every other night lately, before knowing that, I think his body is trying to tell us something!!!

Pipbin · 23/02/2012 19:16

And you can get online with the kindle so you might still be able to post here.

MrsTwinks · 23/02/2012 16:39

pipbin he is treatening to conviscate my phone! luckily he doesn't know i have contraband books on my kindle

PandaWatch · 23/02/2012 16:14

And all that vitamin d shining down is good for the baby-making! link

I've honestly not been spending every waking minute looking into things to help for conception...Blush this is a lie

Elizadoesdolittle · 23/02/2012 16:02

Although af "due" for me on 11th march, because of my really irregular cycle I won't actually test to 18th march at the earliest. That will be cd44 for me. My last cycle was 41 days so could well be that long this time round. It's annoying as I haven't had the excitement of testing, but I guess on the plus side it's saved me money and I haven't had to face a BFN.

Looks like there will be quite a lot of us testing round the same time. Very exciting and hopefully there will be a lot of BFPs to celebrate.

Am loving this weather, hope it lasts for a while. Everyone seems so much happier when the sun is out. Enjoy Smile

Pipbin · 23/02/2012 15:49

MrsTwinks can he ban the fertility friend app?

OP posts:
MrsTwinks · 23/02/2012 15:45

ooh alot of us with AF due 16th/17th!

Also hoping for a boy. Didn't realise that bananas helped, but I already have a smoothie each morning so I'm definately getting my fair share of potassium already!! might have to munch on a few more just to be sure

Getting ready and packing for my pamper week away next week and DH has banned me from taking anything conception related. meanie! tried to point out that surely that would me he had to pack condoms if I couldn't take my books but he's not relenting lol!

PandaWatch · 23/02/2012 14:22

Hello everyone! I'm ttc # 1, on cycle 3, AF due around 16 March (although could be a couple of days either side). This is my first plane (skipped the buses) so am hoping to both contribute and benefit from lots of positive baby-making thoughts! Getting a bit Sad so it's nice to have some company!

Chunky and Primal - apparently if you're aiming for a boy you should be eating lots of bananas as the potassium is meant to make you more boy-sperm friendly. Check here for the science bit.

bettergetamoveon · 23/02/2012 13:57

Pipbin, just noticed your previous post. I spot quite a bit but it always gets heavier instead of just ceasing like yours has done. Fingers crossed it's implantation.

Pipbin · 23/02/2012 12:50

I'm not sure Primal. I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Spotting has completely dried up now.
AF expected tomorrow. If I shout loud enough at her may be she will go away.

OP posts:
PrimalChic · 23/02/2012 12:32

pipbin it's got to be implantation!?! didn't it start on day 21? Everything crossed for you!

chunky we have been thinking the same about when to DTD as I really want a boy, then we swing to the other extreme of just SWI whenever we can so that we can get pg with either flavour!

Stressful business. They made it sound so easy at school "just say no as condoms aren't even 100% effective, you don't even have to have sex to get pregnant" Pah! They build false hopes for adulthood!

In a great mood today, it's amazing what a bit of spring weather can do!

Chunkychicken · 23/02/2012 11:31

I'm only cd11, started using the cheapy OPK sticks yesterday to a) check I ov this month and b) see whether day 14 is actually the day as it seems to be. I'm already desperate for a week to have passed and be in the 2WW!!!! Madness.Confused

I've also got it into my head I want a boy, so want to DTD on the day of ovulation to give us the best chance of that but equally know that a BFP is a BFP regardless of 'flavour' & don't want to risk missing a chance by reducing the number of times we DTD iykwim. I am sending myself loopy Blush

MissMedusa · 23/02/2012 10:23

I'm 6 DPO (I think) and have an appointment today to have my hormones checked plus a scan done. Do I assume correctly that it would be far too early for the doctor to detect any signs of pregnancy?

Secretly hoping that while checking other things we just happen to discover I'm pg although I know it's a long shot.

Rudawakening · 23/02/2012 10:14

I know the feeling Cherry, I keep getting twinges in my boobs and I've had cramps almost constantly since 5dpo.

AF is due Saturday if it hasn't shown by Monday I'm going to test Tuesday, have no idea how I'm going to wait that longGrin

cherrypiew3 · 23/02/2012 10:03

Pipbin and Primal fingers crossed for you both.

Knicky My DH works nights so I have to plan when we are going to swi.

Right can someone please give me a quick slap I am really driving myself mad symptom spotting.

knickyknocks · 23/02/2012 09:31

Primal keeping my fingers crossed for you for a BFP.

better sounds like a fab plan. I'm trying my best too not to become too obsessed with it all. I'm fairly healthy, though knocking on a bit at nearly 40. Trying a bit of reflexology this cycle round and considering acupunture. Seems one of the keys to all this TTC malarkey is to relax. So going to try and chill out a bit more.

Working out dates for SWI (DH is a shiftworker, and if this isn't planned with military precision it means vital windows are missed! May even have to take half day annual leave next week to go home and DTD - looking forward to any of my colleagues asking if I have anything nice planned for my afternoon off Wink

bettergetamoveon · 23/02/2012 09:19

Pimal - how annoying for you not to know either way. I hope it's a BFP! Fingers crossed.

bettergetamoveon · 23/02/2012 09:18

Hi, I'll hop on board if you don't mind. This is my second month TTC and this month I'm trying to have a different attitute.

My main aim is to be healthier and fitter. i would like to get my 28 day cycle back with plenty of EWCM/ovulation at the right time of the month etc.

My plan of action is to continue with vitamin intake; SWI at the correct times with OPK (think too early last month); Manuka honey daily; 5 portions of fruit & veg daily and foods including nuts, seeds and cut back on processed food. Limit my tea intake to 4 cups. Exercise most days for half an hour, but don't over or under exercise.

Lastly I am going to step away from google and conception boards. I will only come on this thread but NOTHING else. Going to try and chill out about it. I'm really trying to talk myslef into this aren't I? It's so hard not to be obsessed.

bettergetamoveon (36) TTC #2, cycle 2, AF due 18th March (ish)

Good luck everyone!

Pipbin · 23/02/2012 08:31

Looks like may have been a bit hasty in my preflight checks.

Temp dropped this morning so I expected AF to arrive. However, as yet, nothing. In fact the spotting has got a lot less ............................
Cold it be implantation? Dare I hope? AF is due tomorrow but when she comes its usually be first thing.

Went to docs today and told her I was 9 days late. She said to bot bother taking a test for another week. Like I could last that long! Was busting all the way home as I thought they might do a test (well prepared!) and as soon as I got back I POAS. 9th BFN this month hmpf.

Going to lurk here with you ladies, save me a seat, preferably near the loo as I clearly have a POAS abuse problem.
