Welcome aboard ladies.
Please be seated, you may undo your seatbelts as soon as you see the SWI sign light up.

I'll be coming round with cake, biscuits and wine.

Come on girls, we can do it this month.

Heads held high and legs akimbo, off we go.

Hello, please can I join!

TTC baby 2 since Sept. Had a chemical pregnancy end of November, then had random mid cycle bleeding in Dec and been having on /off pains for quite a while so had pelvic scan last month to rule anything nasty out (all fine in that area). However, had a mammoth 47 day cycle ( longest one ever) last month. I'm sure I ovulated though at least 20 days before AF arrived as I was using ovulation sticks so not sure what the hell happened as not sure if luteal phase can be that long but def not pregnant as tested. A lot. Blush.

Anyway, really hoping for better luck this month! Rough estimate AF due 25 March but with my crazy cycles who knows!

Elizadoesdolittle · 27/02/2012 15:08

Chunky, I know exactly how you are feeling. I haven't actually dtd since Thursday for one reason or another and I'm just in a constant state of panic about it. I'm using opks but have only had a dark line once and that wasn't enough for a positive. Other than that they are completly blank. I keep telling myself that next month I'm going to relax about it and not try and get too obsessed about how often we swi and just aim for 2-3 times a week. Much easier said than done I know but I feel like at the moment I'm just worrying about when we swi and it's just really not fun!

Afraid I don't really have any advice but just wanted to know you're not alone in how you feel.

PandaWatch · 27/02/2012 14:51

Chuncky from what I understand as long as you've DTD within a couple of days prior to ovulation there's a good chance and even up to 5 days before can result in a BFP. And the egg can live for something like 24 hours so it's worth DTD tonight as well

Chunkychicken · 27/02/2012 13:16

Feeling a bit Sad today although I know logically the situation is not irretrievable - we didn't manage to DTD last night (too tired, work today etc. etc.) and I'm now worried that we missed our 'shot'. I had the EWCM (which seems to have reduced/gone now, although I drink far less than I should at work, which probably doesn't help) and also a much darker line on the OPKs (although not a definite positive). In my head I'm saying that the line wasn't dark enough so doesn't show a definite surge, so there's still time to SWI tonight and get the egg, especially as we DTD yesterday morning. I'm also arguing with myself that I have only been using the OPKs this month and although I have had some faint lines, they've been pretty variable, dependant on the state of the urine I suspect, so I can't tell if that was a negative or a positive, so getting really panicky about it.

Generally I need someone to talk me in from the ledge and stop panicking. I mean, there's still a chance isn't there??!!!! Alternating between Sad, Confused and Hmm at the moment...

Sticklebricksuk · 26/02/2012 19:29

Awww PrimalChic sorry to see you here. After being in the same boat last month I had hoped that you would have had better luck than me! Well that was a weird cycle wasn't it?! I was 13 days late in the end. Am also hitting the gym more regularly and trying to eat better this month, and hope for the best!

Chunkychicken · 26/02/2012 19:10

X posts I think PrimalChic but can you go to superdrug/Wilko? Might be worth a try with all the other things... :)

DH keeps saying he'd find it offensive to 'his boys' to use pre-seed or similar lube. He might not get a choice know much about it in a couple of months...Grin

Chunkychicken · 26/02/2012 19:05

Thanks Pipbin might try that, but leaving for work @7am doesn't necessarily allow for 2 morning wees!! :)

TMI ALERT: I am fairly certain I am ovulating because the CM I had earlier when I wiped was disgustingly 'gobby' copious and very much 'EW' in consistency. Can't credit anything particularly BUT have been alternating days taking superdrug's pregnancy vits and Wilko's pregnancy vits. Both have b6 & other b vits & the superdrug one has selenium & other vits. I would def recommend trying them if this CM is a good sign & fingers crossed for a BFP in a few weeks to confirm it!!!

Best get off here & off to bed huh??!! Wink

PrimalChic · 26/02/2012 18:18

Thank you ladies, it's nice to see some familiar faces!

Things I'm doing to help DH and I conceive this month:

Charting my temperature
Using a pro conception lubricant (boots)
More SWI!
Getting more sleep
Upping my gym time
Eating better now we are starting to get our kitchen back. Back to lots of meat, veg and good fats, cutting out the grains and the sugar. I think eating so poorly last month was the reason my cycle was out of sorts.

Let's see what i can keep up for the whole month!

Pipbin · 26/02/2012 16:10

Oh Tuesday I bought some B6 to try and stop my spotting today too. I got 50mg tablets. I'm also taking a regular strength b complex as I heard that you need to be taking a complex for the B6 to work.

Chunky the only way I can get OPKs to work for me is to test my second wee of the morning. I go to the loo just before leaving the house to go to work having already had my first morning one about an hour before hand. Anything other than that anf it doesn't seem to work.

Sorry to see she got you PrimalChic but glad you can join us!! :)

knickyknocks · 26/02/2012 11:14

primal sorry to see your boarding pass. Guilt free rare steaks and red wine sounds delicious!

chunky our bodies have great timing to play silly buggers! And been there done that re the DTD when not remotely in the mood, knackered and a case of having to in case we miss the window. Hardly sexy is it?

DH has organised a lovely weekend away at the end of March for my birthday, there's a spa and a nice dinner so am hoping to inject a little more romance than ther has been of late. Plus no 2.7 DD to interrupt proceedings!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather. A bit of sunshine always makes thingss more positive.

PrimalChic · 26/02/2012 11:02

I think I knew she was on her way as I had a rare steak and half a bottle of red last night!

Chunkychicken · 26/02/2012 10:41

I think I should be ovulating soon if CM is anything to go by (judging by the pattern suggested last cycle) but my body is playing silly buggers with me again; my boobs are NOT sore this month. Since we've been TTC, I've noticed my boobs get really sore/sensitive mid-cycle & stay that way until AF. Which is particularly unhelpful during the 2WW, given that was the first sign of being pg with my DD. Now though, nothing. Not the slightest suggestion of sensitivity... Very very weird. Confused

Have been trying OPKs too but don't think they're going to be a success - I am far too weak-bladdered & thirsty to neither drink nor pee for 3-4 hrs prior to testing to make sure its concentrated enough to be accurate. Forgot all about it yesterday too!!! I'm clearly not dedicated enough to be allowed to concieve Blush

Plus, I'm feeling far too tired & stressed out about selling our house to feel like DTD but know I'll regret it nxt mth if we don't even try so feeling like I'm forcing myself, which isn't much fun :(

Fingers crossed for at least one thing going right this month... :)

knickyknocks · 26/02/2012 05:35

cherry I reckon so. That'd only be about 3 days before AF is due. One of those sensitive tests should show a line. Not long till Weds now, first thing in morning too is best so at least you don't have to wait all day. wishing you lots of BFP vibes XX

cherrypiew3 · 25/02/2012 22:41

Thanks Knicky and MrsC going to have a look on ebay and then try and hold out until wednesday yeah right . Do you think that will be long enough?

TheNewMrsC · 25/02/2012 22:22

cherry if you ordered a few ultra sensitive eBay cheapies by the time you get them I think you might get a pretty true reading .

knickyknocks · 25/02/2012 18:26

cherry you could try first response, though if you get a negative you'll only end up testing in a couple of days time. I know this is almost impossible, but if you can try and wait out another day or so. That said, if you really can't hold out, just do it. No point in stressing yourself out to the hilt. The 2ww is crap. Will keep my fingers crossed for a BFP for you.

MrsC SWI not started in earnest yet in the knickyknocks household. Things will really get going by the end of the week (TMI?!). Going to enjoy my book at bedtime and rest whilst I can Grin

TheNewMrsC · 25/02/2012 17:58

Hey everyone hi to all the new girls !! Smile

I'm laughing here reading your posts about age gaps - my DD is almost 7 !!!Blush

Anyway , how is everyone ??? I'm on 5dpo now (roughly as all my cycles are pretty much guesswork) and hoping to last at least until af is actually due before testing . How is everyone doing with the SWI ? Grin

cherrypiew3 · 25/02/2012 17:52

Hi Tuesday sorry AF got you.

I feel pretty rubbish today tummy really aches hope its not an early AF showing up. I have never been early in the past so holding onto the hope its implantation I have a cheap test and am wondering if I should POAS in the morning. Would a test show anything this early on not due until 3/3

Oh dear I promised myself I would not let TTC get to me like this.

TuesdayNightClub · 25/02/2012 12:48

Thanks French for updating.

I'm going to get some Vitamin B6 today to try to lengthen my 10day luteal phase. Anyone had any success with this?
